Emma was absolutely amazing. She had the food hot, and ready so quickly. She's was also so efficient and polite!!

We got here 30 minutes before closing and didn't know the order by yourself wasn't open and sat there for 10 minutes after they saw us sitting there waiting and we kept pressing the button. Started an online order and they finally said over the speaker that it was closed and to go to drive thru (we thought they were waiting out the 30 mins till close). We go to order and you can't hear the guy, he's all disoriented and keeps asking us the same things over and over. We ordered a cheeseburger meal with fries and a Dr Pepper and chicken tenders with fries and a Dr Pepper after they had no chicken left for a chicken sandwich. He then repeats it back and says okay so you had this and this plus an extra coke and we tell him no, we didn't order a coke at all. He confirms it and this entire time we literally cannot hear him because he's like whispering. Then it goes silent and my friend has to ask if we can pull up and then he gives us the total 2 mins later and tells us to pull up. Lady at the window hands us two Dr peppers and goes to hand us a coke. We say we never ordered a coke and told her the situation with the man who took our order and he knew we didn't order it and should've already taken it off. She goes well you ordered two cheeseburger combos and a chicken tender combo which we did not. She then walks away and goes and gets the guy. He sits and repeats to us what we want after telling him and it takes him almost 5 mins to void the order after I already paid then had to give my card again for the new balance. He keeps apologizing which I respect but I genuinely don't think he knows what he's doing or he is on something and I don't like to assume. We then waiting over 10 minutes for our food. She comes hands us our food and doesn't say anything and is clearly annoyed. We stop her from closing the window to ask for straws for our drinks and she goes and grabs them and whips the window up. Doesn't say a word. Not impressed AT ALL. Will not be back. That was terrible. They did give us free tots and it appears a senior discount but was never said so I noticed after leaving. read more

This is probably the worst Sonic I have ever been to in my life. I came here one day after work hoping for just a simple ice cream cone with sprinkles and ended up getting yelled at by the drive through individual.. he really got mad that I thought that they would have that there. Sorry buddy, I have been to other Sonics that did have it. And then proceeded to ask about the different ice cream options and he just was not nice about it. I did not end up ordering anything that day - it was just was not worth it. The location is an ideal location driving down American Blvd but not worth being yelled at. It's a pass from me. read more

Stopped by this sonic on our way home from dinner and the ice cream was great! The cookie dough chunks were exactly what I was craving and the custard was super creamy. Food came out fast once we ordered, but we did have to go to the drive thru because all the stalls we tried to order at were broken. read more

I go to this Sonic often as it's near my job. I mostly go for the slushies. I know it's not a location decision but I really wish they would bring back the Redbull slushies (not to be confused with the recharge drinks). I like that they are 1/2 off if you order in the app and you can customize the flavor! I usually don't order food but I do like the buffalo dip bites and the pickle fries when they have them. The pretzels are pretty good as well. Ordering in the app is simple, when you get there you pull into a stall and enter the number of the stall on the app. Sometimes your name disappears off the screen when they take longer to dring your order but they do eventually bring it out. You can also put a pick up time on the app and might have better luck if you are in a rush. There's not too much interaction with the staff besides them verifying the order and handing it to you. read more

Mike the person taking the order was extremely pleasant even complimented my choice of the honey chipotle chicken sandwich. Service was fast and friendly. They never got my order wrong me and my girlfriend often go when we need fast food as their in walking distance and as collage students it's easier and quicker than making a full meal but the staff is always so nice and is better quality than McDonalds I feel like Sonic's is severely underrated 7/10 read more

I only get drinks at Sonic. And it's only when I'm in the mood and happen to also be in Bloomington. I got a Strawberry Lemonade "float". It was DE-LICIOUS. The balance of flavors made me so happy to get this drink. I couldn't decide if I wanted a slush or a float, so this was a very happy medium. The strawberry wasn't too sweet, and the lemonade wasn't too tart. And the vanilla ice cream was a perfect thread between the two. The drive-up window attendant was friendly and quick. There was a super-long line due to drive-up only service. Their drinks are worth the wait to me, and it was a hot day. With Covid precautions, everywhere has longer wait times and lines. Being patient and not taking out frustrations on staff are important. Be kind and wait and you'll be served well. read more

Gotta be honest all of the other reviews on here freaked me out a little and kept me from visiting this location until earlier this week! My first trip to sonic was great! I went through the drive thru around 6pm on Tuesday and everything I ordered came out quick, hot and fresh! There weren't too many cars at the drive up order spots either so I could have don't that. This sonic is a rough one. It's in a nice neighborhood but it's SO hit or miss if they get your order correct. My latest adventure (tonight) I ordered #3 double bacon cheeseburger with fries & drink (correct) 2 chili cheese dogs (correct) #8 popcorn chicken with cheese fries and drink (correct) Extra popcorn chicken (didn't get) got fries instead....... OLD fries. You know the ones that are old and refried to "refresh" them. I'm not talking cold. That I could have handled. Then not getting the popcorn chicken. I was also at the drive in area for 30 minutes. This I could have dealt with if the order would have been correct. I understand we are all understaffed and tired and overworked, but if I'm going to pay i would like what I paid for. I should have sent the carhop back in for the receipt since she did not bring it out with her and I let it go. Is there less than 1 star rating ? read more

Summer in the drive in!!! Stop for sweet treats in this nice summer day. Service was great and so were the treats. I had a strawberry banana shake. Ooooooo it was good and fresh with real strawberries and bananas!! The butterfinger Sonic Blast also receives high scores for taste and freshness. So glad Sonic is in the twin cities!!! read more

Went just for the new "Big Dill Burger," and there was nothing big about it except the huge disappointment. The feature has pickles and fried pickle fries , which there was only two small pickle fries on the burger . For this being the feature I was wanting so much more from it . My boyfriend got the chop house burger that features a "bold" chophouse aioli, there was only a quarter size amount on the middle of the bun, onion strings were also minimal . Sonic prices have gone way up . I also got a cherry limeade and adding bobas. I thought they forgot the bobas , until I went to eat the ice . They don't give you a boba straw, so you can't get to them while drinking your drink . The ice never disappoints though . read more

Having visited many Sonics across the country, this one is pretty bad. The workers were doing the bare minimum, from the person taking the order to the one who delivered our food. As for the food itself, it's Sonic. That means it is exactly what you expect. One neat element of this location is they do have a drive thru in addition to the park-n-order style you see at most Sonic locations. read more

Great location for a Drive up and park or Drive through. Plenty of parking available. This location is also near other fast food options right off of American Boulevard. They have great late night offerings too, with the occasional sale during certain hours. Their chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders, and cheese curds are a few of my go-to choices. They also have a peanut butter milkshake which I am now addicted to. I didn't know that was an option offered until looking further at their menu one day. Very unique and a special item. I have noticed the drive thru can be a touch and go. Sometimes I wait only a few minutes, where other times I was waiting 10+ minutes for a short line. They do have an order ahead option if you have their app. I personally have not used this service but when it gets busy, I have seen people get their order to their door while they are in line. It seems like a great option to try out if you frequent Sonic Drive Ins. It may save you a few minutes ordering ahead. Recently, the staff also are seen wearing masks and gloves. read more

After years in the boonies with no Sonic less than 90 minutes away I was excited to enjoy once again what had always been a pleasant treat. This experience turned my excitement to rage, and makes the likelihood of ever returning very slim. I ordered online for pick-up. Per the directions I went to the Bloomington location, parked in the stall, and pressed the red button to let them know I was there. 5 minutes and no response. Pressed the button again. Another 5 minutes passed. Still no response. I had parked across from the drive thru window, and the next time it opened I leaned on the horn. The girl in the drive thru looked at me with a puzzled expression. Another 5 minutes and still no response. Finally I got out of my car, went to the car hop entrance and demanded my order. Yes, I was angry by now. They brought me my food and gave some lame excuse about not getting a notice I was waiting for service. Which was BS, since I was looking right at a monitor screen showing my stall flashing red. Plus the girl at the take out window saw me. The food was cold, and ended up giving me the runs. I emailed their help address while I was waiting, and followed up again after I got home. As of the time of this review I still haven't received a response, so I guess the customer disservice attitude is a top-down problem. read more

We've only ordered from here once and it was breakfast and honestly they do breakfast right. We got two premium and 2 regular breakfast burritos, medium tots, and French toast sticks and 4/4 of us thought it was really great for fast food breakfast! Something different than we might've normally done which was nice and both my kids ate without complaint which is not a normal thing that happens. It's fast food, so it's not otherworldly but it was good and everyone was full and happy with the meal so you really can't ask for much more! read more

For an impromptu stop, this place is pretty good! My husband and I wanted a quick treat before heading home, and had never been. Overall it's just what I'd expect for a fast food joint. Food: Just ok, but for the price I'm not going to complain. I will say, however, that the small "jumbo" popcorn chicken bites was not a great value and most of the chicken pieces were scattered at the bottom of the bag. Loved the tots, but how do you go wrong there? Service: A little slow? It's hard to say because I don't have much to base it on and it's not the typical drive-thru. They were nice enough and helpful. I won't even bother rating the atmosphere because you're literally eating in a parking lot. The garbage cans did need emptying, and one of the stalls had a big piece of the awning dangling down. I will never visit this Sonics location again. The manager "Katrina" took my order for a slushee with extra nerds and chicken tenders. I did not get extra nerds in my slushee, nor did I get any sauce with my COLD chicken tenders. I pressed the red button to ask for my nerds and Katrina told me she made the order and "by definition 2 scoops of nerds is extra nerds" and that it'll cost me 40 cents if I want more. I was able to order my sauce. I asked for her name and she said "my name is Katrina and I'm the general manager. If you call tomorrow and you can talk to me again" and abruptly ended the call. I should have read the other reviews before even thinking about going here. They are accurate! I was going home from an event in Mpls and didn't want to venture too far off my path. I was in the mood for something sweet and thought of Sonic. This is not my usual Sonic, but what could be that different, right? My first indication of issues is that there was no service other than drive-thru. Big sign out front which means, not enough employees to staff the place. The drive-thru line was solid around the building. I've never seen a drive-thru line that long before - estimated 15 cars. I wasn't in a huge rush so I stuck with it - it's fast food, how long could it take? I ordered a shake, mozzerella sticks and a hot dog. As the man took my order, he seemingly started talking to someone else in the room. I stopped talking and just waited while he talked. A minute or so later, I asked him if he was ready. I finally made my way up to the window and they handed me my shake right away. After 5 minutes or so, I decided to start drinking the shake. Well, I finished my shake before the remainder of my food was done. I was watching inside the building the entire time I was at the window (it had to have been 15 minutes - meanwhile, they walked the food to the people in cars behind me). The register guy and the shake guy really were working hard. I have no idea why it took so long to make fast food, but it did. I only wish someone had given me an explanation while I was sitting there. Eventually, I got my food and was on my way. My first thought was that the tiny bag I was just handed seemed to insignificant compared to the time I had just waited, but after a while, it became more of a curiousity - how long would they make me wait? I think when all was said and done, it was between 30-40 minutes to get my food though the drive-thru and get out of there. Of all the places you can choose to go for FF, this is at the bottom of the list and only because the food is average at best, but you have to pay premium.
