This place needs to be shut down, or new management needs to get in there. Every time I order, it ALWAYS messed up. I can guarantee it will be messed up. I now make the car hop wait while I check my bag because it's ALWAYS messed up. This time was one of the worst. They have not served ice cream in over a week, my "nuggets" were cut up chicken strips because they ran out, and when I asked the car hop if they had put any ranch for the wings her response was "probably not". You have to specifically ask for condiments, and even when you do ask they don't put them in the bag. I live sonic but I will start going anywhere but here in the future. I ordered a #4 super sonic jalapeño cheeseburger combo. The girl who took my order was either preoccupied, or just doesn't know how to listen. I asked for a large combo, I did get a large tots, but then I got a 20oz drink. The burger the bun was burnt, either was was sent through the toaster a few times, or it got stuck. There was about 2 and a half time the mustard that is normally on it, and there were 4 slices of jalapeño on the burger. And the lettuce was wet. I got a couple of corn dogs as well, they were almost perfect. I wish that customer service people were just attentive, I am in the food service industry myself. Next they forget my tater tots, that just makes you so mad, when you have already left, and don't live in the area. Came here on a Sunday evening for an after dinner treat and I will say that the ordering process went smooth and the employee was courteous. However, we then waited for a bit for our disappointing ice cream Desserts to arrive. The sonic blast has a dusting of butterfinger and none to speak of in the actual ice cream itself. The sundae was melted, as expected, after seeing the employee inside have it in his hand while taking drive thru orders for at least ten minutes. The female employee who delivered the dessert was very sweet and offered coupons for the wait, but I don't think we can stomach a return. read more

Card reader supremely screwed up. All numbers worn off of the keypads. Took maybe a dozen tries to get a card to read. Default message on screen is garbled and makes no sense. Food came out after only a few minutes with the guy apologizing profusely for some unknown error. Haven't tried the food but a decidedly sloppy experience. read more

This was The most terrible sonic I have ever been. As a sonic enthusiast, I have been to multiple sonics across Texas, including some in Indiana, and Massachusetts. This is the worst sonic I have ever been to. Not only, did it take 30 minutes to get one cherry slush with nerds, but when it arrived, there was no nerds. My question is, after taking 30 minutes to prepare when/how did they forget to simply put the nerds. This is disappointing, and frankly stupid, and I will never come back here again unless they get their stuff together, and learn how to put nerds in a damn slush. Sonic is evil, as they placed one right down the street from my house and I pass it every day. It draws me in at times. It's the corn dogs and the tater tots that get me every time. You can get an entire meal w/ dessert for $4. The service is pretty quick and the staff is typically friendly. For the convenience and the prices are pretty good, if you watch what you get, I keep coming back. Yeah, sometimes the food is a little cold or the hamburger looked like it was put together in the dead of night, but after I bite into the corn dog and drink the slushee, I really don't care. Yes, my first trip to a Sonic Drive-In. Visiting from the Bay Area, there are no Sonics in the Bay Area, or California for that matter. Yet we see those commercials during football and hoops games. We finished lunch and my nephew and I were in the mood for Sonic for dessert. He had the banana split and I had the chocolate shake. We both liked our choices. The shake was really good. I would probably rank it a few notches above the shakes at In n Out, which is a barometer for my Bay Area friends. Their dessert and drink menus are extensive. The service was very prompt, as you pull in to a parking lot and order into a personal audio speaker. They deliver the food and you pay by cash or plastic. You either eat in your car, or there are some outside benches, but no inside dining. As for the rest of the menu, seems like normal burger fare. Didn't look too appealing, and for that my loyalty still remains with In n Out or Carl's Jr. I'd likely go again when I return to Austin. read more

so i know everyone is having a hard time right now, and MOST of us are working to make ends meet, I am too, I work paycheck to paycheck and every month is a hustle, but this has been the worst sonic experience i have ever had. i'm a regular for sure at the one off manchaca and i tip and a lot of the servers tell me they'll also take venmo since cash isn't really out and about right now, and when i visited another sonic over by riverside i asked the server if she had a venmo and she did so i sent over 5 bucks. my person at the one by me, i didn't have cash for a while so when i venmo'd her i sent her ten to make up, the point is i'm kind and generous and i try to do the best i can. tonight i visited this location, and my server came out, kayla i believe and she was handing me my things and i asked her if she had a venmo so i could tip her and she seemed irritated and said no, and i was like man sorry if i had cash i would get u right here, i'll get u next time, bc ILL REMEMBER. she said, "i'm still gonna be here and do my job" and then mentioned that she didn't have the honey mustard for my order but it should be in the bag, i'm one for sauces so i checked and it wasn't in there, i hate calling back but i wanted it to complete my meal, and i could barely hear anything on the speaker when she spoke but it was her and i could hear her getting mad on the speaker but i couldn't understand, anyway she comes out with 4 honey mustards and i said thank you so much, and she said, "yeah is that gonna be enough for you??" with such a glare as if four sauces wouldn't be enough?? lowkey felt like a serious jab at my weight, sure i'm a bigger girl, but you work at sonic!! i'm sure you see all sizes of people coming in. no need to fucking jab at me for asking for what i said in my order in attempt to not have to ask twice. she scoffed at me and walked away. i'm like WHAT seriously?? like ur gonna shame me for asking for sides and make me feel uncomfortable about it. i went in with all good intentions, i ALWAYS TIP, and i def always tip at sonic because i know they're more on a server wage and i used to serve and i want to make sure they're taken care of. being irritated i asked for something else sure, but no need to be so rude and mean to someone who was just trying to get their food and tip YOU in all ur bad mood glory. it's the holidays everyone is going through something, i always reinforce to be kind and understanding with wait staff but i did nothing rude to this person and she was just awful to me. I'm not even the type to put in reviews but this has never happened to me before ever. I pulled up and ordered my food with a Reece's blast, paid and waited in my car. As I was waiting a very kind gentleman ran out and gave me a free limeade token for the wait being long. About twenty minutes passes by and someone comes out and asked me what I was waiting for. I replied with my whole order and the guy said he thought so but the other employee did not believe him. A girl came out to my car and asked me where I pulled up before when she handed me my food, I said no where I've been waiting and have not received my food at all, she asked me if I was sure. Are you crazy?? Like you wanna check my car to see? Do I look like I'm enjoying a nice cold ice cream I ordered and paid for right now? No. She went inside. Another 5 minutes go by and at this time I am now running late to work. They explained to me that they had to refund me for the ice cream because the machine was down. At this time I was getting out of my car to let them know I'm leaving and I need a refund. Before I could mention anything they came out with my food and told me a full refund would be processed. 5 hours later I call just to double check they actually did it and nope. Had to explain to the woman on the phone what happened read her my whole order and she replied with I think you're calling the wrong store because our ice cream machine is down. I clarified to her that that was part of the issue and she refunded the amount. Just left Sonic. .drove all the way home just to find the top of my gravy melted and cracked and the actual styrofoam container had a few dimples in it (I ordered the crunchy chicken strip dinner). I thought it would've been ok to eat, but unfortunately there was a few pieces of melted plastic on top. I contemplated on trying to scoop the the pieces out because I didn't want to drive all the way back to Sonic and I don't like to complain. I've never had problems with service or my food at this location, but I decided that I didn't want to take a chance on possibly swallowing a piece of plastic (really wanted the gravy) and they needed to be aware of their food temperatures and how the food is packaged. I explained everything to the manager Marissa; she apologized, replaced my entire meal (gravy outside of the box) and gave me coupons for next time. Thank you for great customer service! read more

If I could give negative I would. I literally live not even 1 mile from this sonic so of course it's the most convenient for myself & my family. I've been to this sonic well over 10times as I don't try a place once & automatically give it up. Also every time We've came here we spend between $20-$40 bucks. My issue with this sonic is EVERY time I've came here they've gotten something in my order wrong, the wait time is ridiculous, & they have the worst sweet tea that's not even sweet at all apart from that it tastes old. tThis Sonic was pretty good when I first tried it 4 years ago. This past 6 months to a year it's gone way down hill. I can let it pass when there is a small mistake occasionally. This restaurant is constantly making mistakes now. Or if they don't want to make something they say they're out of it. I used to stop there once or twice a week for a drink and a quick bite on the way home after a long day. Now it's once every couple of weeks and am considering completely stopping doing business with them I went 2 nights ago and waited OVER 20 minutes for my food. I got it and it was done wrong, I got an oreo blast for a friend as well. The only oreo's in it were a few small sprinkles on the top of it . The customer service (on the speaker) is horrible and the car hops seem to not stay very long which should tell you a lot about the company. They apologized for the long wait and instead of a chicken sandwich I got 2 chicken tenders on a bun. they did offer a coupon for a free icecream cone but I'm allergic to ice cream so I gave it back. read more
