So! At work today I was helping a customer when this woman from Speeedy came up, dropped her bag…read morecarelessly on the counter, and continued to inch her way slowly into my customer's personal space until she felt so uncomfortable that she walked away from the desk. As soon as she did, one of my foreign customers approached the desk and the delivery woman proceeded to raise her voice and berate her "O NO U DONT I WAS HERE FIRST U BACK OFF!!" The foreign woman, unaccustomed to our American ways stepped back immediately, frightened. "I need you to sign for this." she said to me. Well, it is our policy that when things are delivered to guests that they are signed for by another dept, and I pointed her to the appropriate desk. "NUH-uh my information says the concierge is s'posed to sign for it. YOU gotta sign!" In my brief interaction so far I realized that nothing I could say to this woman was going to change her mind so I ask if I could borrow her pen. She responded that she did not have one. This seemed curious being it was her JOB to deliver packages and collect signatures but rather than question further I found my own pen, wrote my name is Print (she reiterated multiple times that this was key) and passed the form back to her. (it should be noted that upon demanding my signature she did not pass me the paper to sign, but rather flung the entire binder carelessly onto the desk in front of me) Upon passing the signed paper back to her, she asked if that was my first name or last name. I responded by pointing to my name tag and saying "That is my first name ma'am". She muttered some profanities under her breath which when I questioned her about (by asking politely "Excuse me ma'am?") she proceeded to storm out without acknowledging my question. I was left with a package that had no name or contact information as to whom it was supposed to be delivered for. Luckily I took notice of the company logo on her jacket and was able to track down the information after a quick internet search and several back and forth phone calls. I made my feelings about the woman's horrendous attitude to the gentleman from Speeedy who assisted me over the phone and to be fair, he was very calm and professional HOWEVER I did ask multiple times for the woman's name and to speak to a manager to make a formal complain and was never given the information or the opportunity. In the end my customer received her package but it was due in very small part to the services provided by Speedy and more to my excellent deductive skills (if I do say so myself) and the wonderful and caring staff at CakeLove here in DC. In Summation, I DO NOT RECOMMEND SPEEEDY COURIER SERVICES. RUDE
