Updating on my past 5 star review. I needed notary services for a simple signature but also a copy certification of my passport. I called my bank but their appt schedule was for tomorrow and I had this afternoon off. I called this UPS store, they said to come in without an appt. I did and got it all notarized by a very kind young man and the price for the 2 was $20 total. This experience was fast, efficient and so pleasant. This lady charged me a $1.50 plus tax for printing an amazon prepaid ups shipping label!! After I left I see she could have scanned the label instead of printing and charging me for it. These are supposed to be free returns. There is a scanner code and ups label numbers on the label. Ridiculous. read more

I am so grateful to Sahar. I called near closing time on a Friday with an emergency request to ship important medication overnight for Saturday delivery. I was in a real bind because it was past the time when overnight packages get collected for transfer to the hub. She kept me on the line while she made other calls on my behalf to confirm that it was possible for me to ship it by getting a label printed, then taking the package directly to the hub in Alexandria. Then she kept the store open late to give me time to drive the medication over to her, where she quickly prepared it for shipment, then gave me the address to the hub and very specific instructions on what to say when I got there to make sure it made it out with the night's packages. I always wait until I have three bad experiences before writing a review and I just had my third at this store. My company forces us to use UPS so I have a lot of experiences at stores and this one is the only one I have problems at. Most are great friendly and helpful. This store has awful customer service. Today they just "change the policy" on taping boxes shut, so I expected to do a quick drop off with my kids but instead I needed to tape all of my boxes while the two store employees stood around and watched me. It was weird. I was expecting it to take my 5 minutes like other stores, and instead it took me 20 minutes. Also I had my kids with me which makes everything more complicated and we were late for soccer practice. Isn't the purpose of the store to provide customer service not make things worse? I love coming to the specific store because one of the employees I think his name is Grey he is awesome he has amazing customer service and he's always so quick with everything. I made a reservation for notary services on Saturday and when I arrived one of the people in the store said the notary wasn't working. When I pointed out that I made an appointment online, he said, "honestly, we don't check that." He also said that it was best to stop by and see if the notary was working. No chance I'll ever stop in this store again.o read more

Their team is extremely helpful and you can tell they care about each person that walks in their store. I have never been more annoyed by a UPS store. Zero customer service. Both workers acted angry that they had to wait on people!! The sign says "Let us be your shipping and packing expert".......Far from the truth!!! Oversold the box size to increase the price!!! Ridiculous people!!!! read more

This is a great spot to return Amazon packages or other packages that you don't have to directly pay for. However, their mailing prices are highly inflated. At a recent visit, Sahar, the manager, straight up lied to me about the lowest price for mailing a package (I even asked if the post office was cheaper). Instead, I went to the post office on George Mason and mailed out the package for about 50% less. Sahar, it's not good to lie to customers. read more

Hands down the best UPS store I have ever been to. Extremely warm, welcoming and efficient customer service. To boot, the parking is almost luxurious and by that I mean- there is tons of free parking some in front and tons at the back of the store where you can walk right in. No more driving around and around looking for parking and walking while carrying packages and managing small children for me! Also, they are incredibly kid friendly in this store. The owner actually came over and opened the door for me and let my kiddos look around while I sorted out my shipping arrangements. Locally owned and my only lament is that it took me 6 months to realize it was here!! I cannot say enough. Thank you! read more

I do not recommend patronizing this store because the management is very disrespectful and rude. I had an issue with management because she yelled at me for asking for help and when I raised my voice back she called me a bitch. At this point I had to force myself to walk off before getting into a physical altercation and having it escalate. Another staff member tried to intervene and she shoved them away with no regard for the situation. read more

I came to this store last week to ship a package to a small town in Missouri. I had shipped to this address multiple times so I knew it was going to be expensive. When the store associate was shipping my package, she didn't even measure the box! She looked at the dimensions it stated on the box, put in the address and rang me up. I had bought this box from their store the day prior and had cut it down almost 8 inches! Now, I worked at the UPS Store in Alexandria for almost a year so when she rang me up for ground shipping and it was over 80 dollars I was shocked. I took a picture of the shipping label she created and sure enough, she used the dimensions it stated on the box and not the actual dimensions. I came back inside and asked her to use the actual dimensions of the box, and she had to speak with an associate to see if she could do that! After the store associate stated yes, she actually had to measure the box she refunded me and charged me the correct amount of a little over 50 dollars. That's 30 dollars I was being over charged for, and the store associate didn't even apologize. If I hadn't had prior experience working at a UPS store I wouldn't have known to check! I would recommend going to a different UPS store to make sure you are not being overcharged. read more

Sahar is lovely but please do not send anything fragile from this store using UPS unless you pay for the store employees to pack it. I sent four valuable pottery items and a dress to California and wrapped the fragile items in yards and yards of bubble wrap. I also marked the box "fragile" on every side. Nevertheless, one of the items was smashed to smithereens as if the box had been tossed off the truck. UPS refused to cover the broken item or refund my shipping cost. They picked up the box with the broken item and the packing materials and determined that it was not packed adequately, apparently not taking into account that there were 4 other items in the box when it was sent. All in all, a very unpleasant experience. read more

What a pleasure to have this new UPS store in a great location with ample parking. The store is clean and welcoming as are the employees. They took care of a laminating job quickly and well. They carry all the necessary packing supplies and can handle certified mail so you can avoid a trip to a post office. We ship a lot to Colorado and this store is making that process much easier. read more
