Do yourself a favor, STOP your search for electrican and just call SONAR! If there were a 10 star rating scale Sonar and Sal would earn it. After a full week of searching for electricians from handy man companies to electricians posted on A-List I ran up against the pricing and scheduling wall. No one could come out right away...everyone had 2 week wait times and prices were just outrageous. Enter Sal (he should have a cape and and a tshirt made that says SUPER SAL!) He responded to my call first ring. YES! HE answers the phone. I explained my problem in general terms. We scheduled an appointment right away for the next day at 9:30 am. Well to my surprise he texted at 8:30 and said he was on his way (EARLY!!!!) can you believe it? He showed up at 9:30 on the nose, evaluated each of the fixtures in the home to determine the source of the spontaneous light outages, changed what he needed to change, installed a new fixture a nd a sensor light. He was thourough, fair and honest in his assessment. His prices are fair and very reasonable! I have made a follow up appointment for him to install flood lights and another garage light. Oooooh my goodness!!! This company is ah-mazing!!! I currently live in seattle, WA and was in need of a last minute electrician for my property in chicago. And let me tell you, Sal was beyond amazing. I told him my problem and Sal gave me some trouble shooting advice, which then I told my dad who was on my property to try out. After my dad was unable to fix the problem, Sal made no hesitations to go over there. For me, when I think about finding any sorts of handyman, I always think that they're going to rip me off somehow or someway. But after talking to Sal and him providing me advice on how to fix the problem gave reassurance that he wasn't trying to rip me off. Sal was more than amazing! Called him today & explained power went out in half of my apt & he showed up in 20 min! And fixed within the hour! Showed up with another wonderful gentleman Danny. They immediately found the issue but needed to locate the source of the bad wires. Sal was so thorough & clearly well experienced as he walked me through every step explaining to me what went wrong & why. After testing multiple switches eventually found it was located where the ceiling fan was. He carefully took down (which was no easy task) & replaced bad wires. He even cleaned my dusty fan blades before putting back! Really made me feel so comfortable & kinda like family. As they even gave me advice on my plumbing. Oh did I mention so affordable! He could've charged me way more & honestly I would've happily paid! He even sent me a nice text saying it was HIS pleasure to help me! I'd give more stars if I could. This guy is a joke. I set up an appointment a week in advance. 12:30pm he still hasn't showed up or contacted me, so I call and leave a voice message. It is now 1:30 and I still haven't heard from him so I call back and finally get him on the line. He is mumbling something about his back hurts so he can't make it out today (Ps. he sounds drunk and barely coherent). I start saying it is very unprofessional to not keep in communication about something like this, but I didn't get to finish my sentence because he hung up on me. Excellent electrician, Sal came to my Condo on a Saturday, he was punctual. He changed 5 outlets to GFCIs in the kitchen, he work on 3 additional outlets in the bedroom and he also installed an outlet for an over the range microwave. He is knowledgeable and responsive. First of all these written words come nowhere close to how I feel about the excellent service that I received from Sal and Sonar Electrical. Sal was most helpful from my first call. I had recently installed a new wall AC unit in my condo in February and had not used it until late June. After 20 minutes of use it would keep tripping my breaker. I called Sal and explained to him what was happening. He told me to save on a service call to call the company that installed it and to see if the AC was working correctly. They came out and said it was fine but but put a 20 AMP breaker where I had a 15 AMP in. The AC would work, but I noticed my lights where flickering after their service. I called Sal again and he said get the installation company out again to check their work. Sal was suggesting this in order for me to save dollars. They did come out and told me my neutral wire had an issue and it was not their responsibility. I called Sal and told him the issue and he said he could come out on a Saturday at 9AM. Sal was on time, friendly, and professional. Sal completed the work swiftly and so far everything is great. This job was completed at a fair price as well! I really appreciate the advice that Sal gave me and I must say his years of experience has paid off in a satisfied customer. I called Sonar Electrical today, for the first time ever. Sal was at Home Depot in Evanston when he answered my call and was at the house within 20 minutes. Not only did he fix an outdoor garage light we were having trouble with, but he noticed jumper cables starting to smoke as one of our cars was charging in the garage. Sal is priced reasonably, super knowledgable and a true professional. He is very detail focused, too - going so far as to tell us what kind of lightbulbs (LED) were a good buy for our garage light fixture and where they were located at Home Depot. I couldn't get my circuit breaker to reset for my microwave and refrigerator. Sal came less than 50 minutes after speaking with him.(In between dropping off and picking up his wife for a medical appointment) The problem was an outlet that was not properly installed for the amount of voltage that was going through it. The wire had burned through and singed a plug that was behind a bakers rack. Not only was he quick with the repair, the price quoted was the price he charged. As with others, I needed an electrician on short notice after my regular electrician, who had promised to work that day, bailed at the last minute. I needed to dry out a basement that had had a water leak but had no electrical outlets to plug anything into. After attempting to install a light fixture in our 100+ year old house and somehow causing sparks to fly from the ceiling, my husband and I knew we needed professional help. Our house has a mix of new, old and very old wiring. We had to keep the breaker off so the fixture wouldn't spark. The next morning (a Saturday), my husband took to Facebook to find referrals and I began a google search. I called several services - none of whom were available that day. After reading reviews for Sal, I gave him a call - he picked up right away and asked if he could call me back as he was just finishing up another job nearby. He called back within 10 minutes, apologized for having to get off the phone so quickly and asked about my problem. He said he could come by within 20 minutes. He arrived, looked things over and took his time to make the fix while explaining what he was doing to my curious husband. To add to the mix, we had cable installed the same day, so there was a good deal of coordination between Sal and the cable guy so both men could use the power when they needed it. All went smoothly. As Sal was finishing up, my husband asked him to look at an outlet that stopped working. He got that to work too, charging modestly for the additional service.
