Between their delicious drinks (currently obsessed with their French Toast Latte ) and their bomb baristas, the second I walk through those doors, it's like a hug in a mug. Sona is my go to for coffee dates, solo work sessions, all the best seasonal coffee concoctions, yummy baked goods, and when I need a little pick me up. Sona is locally woman owned and operated, and they have 2 locations, one Downtown and one out South. (South even has a daily happy hour with 50% off drinks after 4:00! )

Tried their coffee for the first time today. I ordered a 12oz. iced mocha, and my company had a cappuccino with brown sugar and cinnamon syrup. My drink was biter. They had a pretty mural accent wall and some nice lights, but the atmosphere felt cramped, echoey and loud. The bathroom was out of service, not sure if it's fixed yet.

I love the one downtown but I decided to try out this location. The matcha was phenomenal! This place has definitely became one of my go-to coffee and matcha spot

I'm so glad that we have a SONA down south! It is one of my go to coffee shops when I am downtown, and I love that they've kept the integrity of the open space that the previous coffee shop had, while bringing in some of the charm and fun flavor combinations That Sona downtown has always had. The staff here are really friendly and sweet. Service is quick. I do hope that they get more sugar, free options than just vanilla and caramel, but that kind of thing comes with time and proof of success. This is a great place to come and study, hang out, get some work done, or just be alone in your thoughts over, some good coffee. Slightly on the pricier side with a 16 ounce iced sugar free caramel latte with almond milk coming in just north of $7, but if you plan on hanging around here, I think of the extra cost kinda like rent for your space.

When we stopped in today, there was the obligatory chocolate chip, a Carmelita (which IS delicious), a peanut butter cup and then some weird offerings like eclair (looked like a donut) and a super thick brookie. We got a four-pack with two choco chips, the Carmelita and the peanut butter cup. The first cookie we tried was the choco chip. I like a good chewy cookie but we both thought it was so thick it didn't get completely done. Good flavor. The Carmelita was good--so good we wish we had four of them in our pack. I got coconut, caramel bits (plus the drizzle) and chocolate chips. Maybe a little oatmeal too. Really good. If it's in the rotation, get it. The peanut butter cup was good but like the chocolate chip ones, was a bit underdone for my taste. Everything had great flavor though!

It wasn't your average sized cookie, very big & I could've been satisfied with just ordering one cookie compared to two based on the size. Me being a carrot cake lover, this was an automatic to get & I'd get it again. Nutella Cinnaroll - I'm not a big Nutella person, this was more on the cinnaroll end due to my love for cinnamon (& cinnamon rolls for that matter). The Nutella & cinnamon roll combination complement each other very very well. Another cookie that's not the average sized & again, could've ordered alone without the order & would've been good. This would probably be the only time I try this one. The cookie flavors rotate every Friday, which gives me more than an excuse to come around & try Crave out over & over. Based off of the menu this moment, they favor chocolate lovers heavy. A spot to cure a sweet tooth before 9pm on Cherry Street.

Big Dipper Ice Cream - A Scoop Above the Rest!…read more If you're an ice cream lover looking for a place that's as fun, flavorful, and fresh as it gets, look no further than Big Dipper. We stopped by recently and tried their 6-cone scoop flight for under $10, and honestly, it felt like discovering a hidden gem. Let's talk about the flight first--what a creative and delicious way to sample multiple flavors! It came beautifully presented with six mini cones, each one packed with personality and flavor. We chose: Salted Caramel Ganache - Rich, buttery, with a perfect balance of salty and sweet. Honeycomb Lavender - Delicate and floral, with just the right touch of sweetness. Totally unique! Purple Velvet - Smooth, creamy, and a colorful twist on a classic. Bean Me Up Scotty - A fun, coffee-infused flavor with a punch of espresso and a playful name to match. Banana Pudding - Tasted just like homemade banana pudding, with a creamy, nostalgic feel. Hemingway Ice Cream - Bright and citrusy with subtle complexity--refreshing and unexpected in the best way. Every single flavor was delicious. It's rare to love all six, but each one had its own personality and stood out in a different way. On top of that, the cones were made fresh, and you could really taste the difference. Crispy, warm, and with that perfect homemade texture--they were the ideal vehicle for each scoop. It's clear Big Dipper takes pride in quality and detail. The shop itself was clean, cozy, and inviting, and it's clear they care about maintaining a tidy and welcoming environment. Everything looked well-maintained and thoughtfully decorated. Our server, Sofia, was absolutely friendly, knowledgeable, and super attentive. She wore gloves the entire time, made sure everything was handled hygienically, and helped us navigate the flight flavors without rushing us. Her genuine enthusiasm for the ice cream made the whole experience even better. Final thoughts: Big Dipper isn't just an ice cream shop--it's a full-on treat-yourself experience. Between the creative flavors, the fresh cones, the excellent service, and the affordable price, we left happy and already planning our next visit. 5 stars for sure. If you haven't been to Big Dipper yet, do yourself a favor and stop in--you'll be hooked after the first scoop.

We split a slice of the passion fruit chocolate pie along with a couple of regular drip coffees. (Of course, we had to get some of the orange-chocolate chip cookies to go.) I liked the pie. Interesting flavors. The chocolate chips did not overpower the subtle passion fruit cream. It was served a bit haphazard though (but that's just me being picky). My biggest complaint was with the coffee and some of the service. I guess I will order an Americano or something next time because the drip coffee was luke warm at best. We were bussing our own table and one of the staff didn't even seem to know what to do with our dishes. Nobody was overly friendly. Maybe they were just prepping for the onslaught of First Friday-ers. Just off night perhaps.
