I originally Googled Mochinut, but the directions led me to a parking lot. I noticed a small pink shop from inside the parking lot, (near the Olive St exit). SOMOCHI: The worker inside the shop said this location may have been a Mochinut but they went bankrupt (or something like that), so now they operate independently. He didn't seem too sure though, and I haven't fact checked it yet, so take with a... "grain-nu-lated" sugar! ;-) MOCHINUTS: - Flavor selection was pretty limited. + A small paper near the display area says they rotate a new flavor every few days. + I ordered three mochinuts, including an original glaze. + The donuts sit on a big spoon-looking tray between the kitchen and cashier (not a traditional display case), looks pretty cool. - The view gets blocked though while the donuts are being boxed. FAST FORWARD: In the car, I open the box to snap a photo for my fellow, faithful Yelpiies and realize I don't see my glaze? No big deal. CUSTOMER SERVICE PLOT TWIST: I go back in, show him the photo, and ask which one is the glaze. He looks at the photo and says, "Oh... I don't think I gave you that one." Then the young fellas proceeds to stare at me, many blank stares lol until I ask if he wants to replace it. DONUT SAFETY LOOP: He says "yes", but asks me to bring the donut back from my car. It felt weird. Once a donut makes it into someone's car & has been opened for a photo (which I showed him) it's a little questionable asking for the donut back, no? It's been exposed to outside elements. It's going to be tossed away right? Right. Right?? Benefit of the doubt, maybe he tossed it? Maybe he ate it himself? I just hope it didn't end up back on that big spoon thing... Doesn't feel outside the realm of possibility here. The whole exchange made me feel a little iffy about eating the Mochi's I already purchased. Like what's the history of my donut before it made it in the box lol. NOTE TO SELF: In 2026, start responding to passive service moments with: "So... Do you want to present me with some solutions?" Lol. TAKEAWAYS: + Thankful I typically do solo test runs before bringing or introducing loved ones. - Mochinut is still a brand, but it looks like several locations have closed due to health code issues, with some replaced by other mochi donut shops. This location might be one of them. - + Dear social media users: Y'all photos be cute, but when the aesthetic gets curated harder than the experience, the honest reviews end up being the most helpful one. read more

Pretty decent to hit that oddly specific chewy mochi donut craving iyk. Best compliment for any Asian dessert is not too sweet of course, and the donuts chew was just right. However, although we tried so many flavors, the cream layer on top was not hitting the perfect amount - was kind of thin and not super distinct from each other, each flavor could almost kind of taste the same. Cute little pink shop in DTLA. Walking distance from my office. Near Bottega Louie and Whole Foods. No parking except for street. Only 1 worker, nice young lady. Decided to buy half a dozen of the mochi donuts. I chose the fruity pebbles, matcha, black sesame, churro, chocolate pretzel, and rice crispy. My favorites were the matcha and black sesame. I parked at the parking lot right next to place and came across this little store as I was walking out of the lot, so I decided to give it a try. The store is a bit small, with very limited seating. I ordered their black sesame mochi donut to-go and was in and out of the place without 5 minutes. The donut was good (4/5). It was crispy and chewy, but the black sesame flavor was lacking. The cream was thin and looked like it kinda melted onto the donut. I wish was it more opaque and flavorful, but the donut itself was good. The service was good and they did offer a variety of flavors. I believe they also sell corn dogs and drinks. The ambiance is cute with their neon lights and colorful palette. I'm glad I randomly stumbled upon this place next to the parking lot. I do recommend checking this place out if you are craving mochi donuts. read more

Its my first time coming here&the inside is decorated cute with a flower wall and there are some tables and chairs to sit inside or outside. They do a spin the wheel w a review so thats cute(: the lady working here was very nice as well(: The donuts itself i got matcha and mango, the icing is good but the donut itself is a bit too chewy for my liking. Great location and walkable for a lot of hotels in DTLA. Super fresh mochi donuts and the best strawberry matcha. I love how they seal the drinks in a can so you can buy a few and they stay fresh in the fridge for a few days. Worth a stop! Parking on side streets is hit or miss. read more

Come here for a quick sweet treat! There's about two tables for outdoor seating but you'll probably just end up standing outside and eating your treats because the inside is super duper tiny. We ordered donuts and they were good but sadly they couldn't warm them up. It was my first time ordering mochi donuts here, and I was really disappointed--especially since I'd heard so many great things about this place. The cashier who took my order didn't seem very professional. I had to repeat my order several times because he kept forgetting, and when I paid in cash, he gave me the wrong change. My total was $37.32, and I gave $40.32, but I only got about $1.70 back--several dollars short of what I should have received. Unfortunately, I didn't realize this until I got home because I was in a rush. Always walk by this location, decided to treat myself. There's an assortment of drinks, snacks, and treats. I like the decor despite limited seating since it's a petite location. I ordered the matcha frappe and red bean paste Taiyaki. Someone stole the internet cord previous night before I visited. Unfortunate thieves in dtla targeted this small business but they have other forms of payment via Venmo, Zelle, Apple Pay, and cash. The co owner I met was very nice despite circumstances. Hope they resolve and thief proof their important wires. Furthermore, the matcha frappe was icy but tasty. I optioned for oatmilk and the tasty red bean Taiyaki was made to order. I've read mixed reviews about their mochi but I'll return to try one with ice cream. There isn't a public restroom so plan accordingly. Yet the vibes are an aesthetic. read more

This is amazing. The drinks are delicious I get the Thai tea. The KOREAN CORN DOGS is where it's at!!! 100/10 recommend. They have such a nice crispy crust. The cheese is cheesy and pulls nicely. Seating is limited, though they do offer a few outdoor tables and a bench inside while you wait for your drinks. The service was great. The employees were friendly, welcoming, and the overall atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable. As for the coffee, it unfortunately wasn't my favorite. I tried the Cloud Latte and found it a bit too thick, lacking the smoothness and flavor I was hoping for. I also tried the Cinnamon Cloud, which was smoother but still tasted fairly bitter to me. Coffee preferences are subjective, of course, but the flavor profile just didn't quite hit the mark for me. That said, I enjoyed everything else about the experience and would be willing to come back and try a few different drinks from the menu. The service and ambiance were definitely highlights of the visit.

Creamy and rich and the coffee underneath was tasty even before mixing in the cream. The pastries looked beautiful and artful, although I was hoping for something simple like an almond croissant. The vibe outside on the patio was great. Lots of people working on laptops, plenty of room to settle in, and it felt more like a co-working space than a typical coffee shop. It's also super dog-friendly, has ample parking in its own lot and we even found easy street parking out front. Everything about this place just worked. We'll gladly make the 25-minute drive again.

He was an absolute delight to meet, and he brought my matcha latte to me at the table when it was prepared. He suggested I get the cream top on it, and boy was that the perfect recommendation. I would say I'm a little bit of a matcha fiend... I think I got a matcha latte at 3 different places this day... and this one far surpassed the others. I think it was one of the best matcha lattes I have ever drank to-date. It was perfectly green, the matcha quality was phenomenal, both taste and look-wise. The texture was just right, perfectly creamy with barely any grittiness. The cream top only added to the drink, and didn't take away from the matcha flavor at all, which I feel like has happened at other places for me. Okay, all I can say is I've never had a donut this yummy. I mean, I'm no expert but we do tend to try out popular foodie spots from Yelp whenever the opportunity presents itself. I followed this shop's Instagram page and it just so happened (?) to come up in my feed when we were in Downtown. They are on the pricier side. We purchased a dozen and it was approximately $30. That being said, I would definitely buy them again. They have a good selection of donuts and change them every 3 days. The employees make the line move pretty quickly. There's bound to be something, actually, most likely a LOT of goodies, for everyone! We will definitely be back for those Korean corndogs!! The dough on these are a nice crunchy outside, pillowy inside taste of goodness. If clouds had a texture and flavor, it would be this. If you're anywhere near downtown LA and haven't tried Somochi yet, you're seriously missing out. These donuts are next level--crispy on the outside, perfectly chewy on the inside, and just the right amount of sweet. They're made mochi-style, so you get that addictive texture in every bite. The flavors rotate, which is dangerous because it makes you want to come back constantly. Ube, matcha, churro, black sesame--you really can't go wrong. Everything tastes super fresh, and they look almost too good to eat (but you'll eat them anyway, fast). The shop itself is small and cute, and the staff is always friendly and chill. Just another way to try their street foods in the USA. And being so close to work for a treat is great. I do however want to try their drinks. They look good and refreshing. I love the hoteok here but they rarely make it. They take Venmo/Zelle but it's best if you have cash. Validation is offered and when you order, you'll get a little pager which will buzz when it's ready. Price is a little cheaper than other equivalents like Somi Somi. Definitely give Little Tokyo Taiyaki a try if you're in the area.

This spot was ranked #43 nationwide in Yelp's Top 100 Food Trucks in the US 2025 ( https://www.yelp.com/article/top-100-food-trucks-2025 ). This is a grab-and-go spot, but there are few outdoor tables available to sit. [Parking]: There's a parking structure for Little Tokyo Galleria, but oddly enough the cashier said no parking validation so our party ended up at a different retail shop within Little Tokyo Galleria to get parking validation. [Process]: After I placed an order, the cashier gave me a buzzer and said expect a 20-minute wait. [Menu]: There are 6 fillings for Taiyaki - Red Bean, Mozzarella Cheese, Chocolate, Custard, Mango, and Sweet Potato. For Taiyaki = 1 for $4, 2 for $7, and 4 for $12. They also offer Premium Taiyaki like Ham & Cheese, Bacon & Cheese, Pepperoni & Cheese, Pizza, and Ube Cream cheese (limited time only). Honey Nuts Pancakes (hotteok) = 1 for $4, 2 for $7, and 4 for $12. Apparently no pancakes on Mondays per the website. *** Red Bean Taiyaki ($4): It was freshly baked and hot so be careful. I noticed the same this time that the crepes are sweet for the spinach and feta, but I end up eating every single bite as they are really good, just seems sweet with items that typically go with salt. The french onion soup was so flavorful I didn't add the crackers and while not all oohey goohey cheese melted and dripping down the sides, it was something I wanted to finish before I got to my crepes. I could name several other places where this french onion soup outshines the competition, it was wonderful. We will be back again next year, same time and can't wait to come again!

The staff were friendly, patient, and provided excellent service from start to finish. I guess it was my lucky night that I found them parked on side of this shopping center on Sawtelle, across from Daiso. I'm certainly glad I got my dessert before dinner! The black cat coffee crisp is perfect for the coffee lover like myself. It's organic French roasted Arabica coffee ice cream rolled then topped with roasted pecans, chocolate covered feuilletine, crushed dark chocolate coffee beans, drizzle of chocolate syrup, an Oreos cookie, and a s'mores marshmallow. The rolls were cold and chewy, didn't melt while eating like some other ones I've had. $10 for a cup is worth sharing and trying at least once for the experience. The ice cream maker might even bounce to the beat while making your rolls. I can't wait to come back to try the malted Thai tea and the Ube crunch.

This delicious little cup of ice cream was worth $10 and even more so worth the wait. My husband wanted to treat me to something for my hard work as a stay at home mom. Me thinking, Babe it's a little pricey...But he said you deserve it with love in his eyes so I said ok. I looked at the menu and decided on the UBAECRUNCH. What a wonderful decision that was. The rolls are made of organic milk. It is thick and really creamy. You can taste the difference from other roll places. I feel that other roll places dilute their milk...Idk and honestly don't care. Blue Nova was one of the four places I've tried and it beats them all, hands down. And to those that think this is one of those fake reviews, it isn't. I don't know any of these people. I am just a dessert loving gal looking to enjoy what the dessert world has to offer.

The sandwich itself took maybe 5 minutes to make (with my wife's sandwich) and cost about $14 which is definitely a little more then I would like to spend for basically a 6 inch, but it's a small downtown sandwich shop so it is what it is. The sandwich itself tasted really good and i have zero complaints about it. The bread seemed fresh, the meat was good, and the veggies topped it all off. Overall, Marie's Coffee & Deli is a simple sandwich shop and a great place to get a quick lunch. Thanks to it's convenient location, I'll definitely be back in the future for some more.
