Stopped by yesterday for a sweet treat and I must say I loved this place!! It had a beautiful open concept with modern style tables and very vibrant colors. You get your choice of flavors to choose from like ube, custard, Oreo, Nutella and more You can get them as a filling or with a soft serve ice cream both being delicious!! They also have some soft serve style drinks to try!!
If you're in the area this is a MUST stop for ice cream. Korean treats are out of this world!!
So cute and fun...wish I had one in my town! Got a few Taiyaki to go.. one filled with matcha creme and one with cheese. Got an upside down fish filled with matcha cream and Ube ice-cream. So delicious and fun! Friendly and quick staff.
We came in late Saturday with 15 family members. I was afraid they'd be upset with 15 of us rolling in an hour before closing, but nope, they were friendly and helpful. They helped each of my family members not familiar with somi somi order their desserts. The works had a big smile and got out all our orders fast! Big props! As for the desserts, it was bomb! Ube and Matcha were both great flavors. I was excited that you could add extra toppings too, that was unexpected. The waffle fish was had good texture. A lot less crunchy than a waffle cone, perfect. The store had open of room to stand and eat. Only a few stools to sit down, but I thought the bar top areas to stand around were solid for enjoying and talking.

I'm gonna be honest with you. I was not able to finish my ice cream and neither was my granddaughter so if you're not a big ice cream eater, maybe ask them for half. The ice cream is so delicious. I cannot believe this place is around the corner from me and I have not been here sooner . If I lived in the Park, I would definitely be sending my kids over here for their daily. I want something. This is cheaper than sending your kid to get a Starbucks, a Dutch Bros or anything else you get your choice of a cookie or a strawberry if you'd like one you don't have to take it. I have the strawberry my granddaughter had the cookie both very delicious. It's a big space so I'm sure when it's hot and it's packed. It's easy to stand around waiting for your ice cream or finishing it. The girl that helped us was nice. I also like that I was not asked for a tip or anything I feel like tipping culture has in some incidences got a little out of control however I would've liked to have seen a little tip jar so I could've added some cash in there because the girl was super nice and she did actually serve the ice cream to us Cookies and cream ice cream is 10 out of 10

We've stopped by Somisomi a few times after the movie theater, and I thought it was time to leave a review. The place is always clean, and the Oreo cookie flavor has quickly become my kids' favorite. Definitely a must-try if you're in the mood for some delicious soft serve! Mom tip- ask for an extra cup to split in half because it is definitely a large ice cream.
I love coming here for dessert! The ice cream is smooth and has different flavors every week which is really cool! I love the Nutella and red bean flavors for the dessert. Service is usually fast and right away for the ice cream. I usually come here whenever I want dessert.
Really good affordable dessert. I think they are cute and picture worthy . I'm glad that this place stayed around because I thought with it falling out of trend that it might get shut down or something
The ice cream was good so was the topping. The custard fish thing was delicious. Would be 5 stars. But. -2 star for the place itself. I've only been to one other somisomi and it's been awhile. The problem for me was. There was nothing inside or outside. It's a blank empty space. Blank white walls. I initially couldn't tell if it was open or not. It was pretty barren. Entered. Easily ordered. Got the dessert. And ate there. There's a high table you can eat off of but it is extremely unbalanced. Slight touch and it starts rocking. Please fix that. Thankfully it was nearly empty. I can imagine this being a huge mess when there's people. Also. Afterwards I got water. Get bigger cups. The plastic cups they have is maybe 2 oz. Was annoying frequently refilling this tiny water cup.
The first thing I noticed walking in was that there was no where to sit. It immediately made the space feel less inviting. We were greeted when we walked in and the cashier was very nice and was patient while my sister and I decided what we wanted to try. I ordered a Milk & Thai tea ice cream with a black sesame filled cone. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The ice cream had just the right amount of sweetness and had a perfect swirl. The black sesame was yummy and it was all so cute. The place was clean but seemed a tad worn down. I wouldn't mind coming back to try other flavors.
Always a solid choice on a hot day. The decor at this location is very minimal compared to the others but nonetheless same quality.
I've been here since they opened last year, but this has to be the best soft-serve ice cream place in Sacramento, along with the maiko in south sac. 5 rotating flavors, and swirl options! So good! Their classic milk is my favorite, but the cookies and cream, or Thai tea is also delicious. Somisomi is know for their boong uh ppang, or taiyaki and it's so delicious as well. They also do ah-boong, where they serve the soft serve in the taiyaki. Somisomi is a chain, but they have the best soft serve in town! This time I tried the cold brew float and the amount of soft serve and the quality of cold brew was great for just 5.95 (at the time of writing). There was only one employee working on the weekend. She was super courteous and so efficient at both taking orders and crafting beautiful looking beverage. I hope management acknowledges her work! read more

I've been a SomiSomi fan since they opened their very first locations in the Arcadia mall, so I was excited to see them branch out to Sacramento! I went with the Matcha x Milk swirl topped with Oreo crumbs and a strawberry. As a matcha lover, I did find the flavor really mild I prefer a more matcha-forward taste rather than rich, heavy creaminess. However, since they aren't a specialized matcha shop, it's still a decent option. I've noticed the soft serve isn't quite as premium as it used to be years ago. It melted incredibly fast( which might indicated mostly air ) and the flavor was lacking. Service was friendly and quick, there's no seating just a long bar table for people to stand. It's still a fun spot and a good addition to the Natomas food scene read more

The plaza of this location isn't the most pleasant, but inside its nicer than other Somi Somis with more tables so it doesn't look empty like other locations can. Somi somi soft serves are very large but very sweet, and this was no exception. Free toppings. Got strawberry milk and tasted like every other location. read more

Only soft serves and taiyaki but done real well. The taiyaki is made fresh in shop. The soft serves had a good consistency without any grainy particles. read more
Smells like happiness in this place! Tried out one of their flavors of the week: Dulce De Leche + Milk and I was not disappointed. The perfect amount of sweetness without being overly sugary. The inside of the location is on the smaller side so on a packed day seating might be harder to find. Other than that, a nice little spot for some good sweets. read more
In a nutshell; yes Whether on a hot day or a cold eve., somi somi always delivers. With a rotating special flavor every now and then , there's always a nice pleasant experience whenever you visit. I had a visit where they had a collaboration with a kpop group called seventeen (why are they even called that when they aren't even seventeen members) which along came an option to get honey dew flavors, which was a nice flavor got to admit. Overall, never had a bad experience so far with every visit and the staff were always great. Overall great taiyaki's, ice cream and all around experience. read more

10/10 this place is my go to ice cream place, honestly dessert in general. I LOVE the flavors that they offer, like where else can u get Thai tea soft serve. It's also in a very convenient area with many other activities and restaurants around. Though I wish their seating wasn't as nonexistent considering they only have standing tables. The water dispenser is also very clever and convenient it's a nice touch. read more

We were in the area so we and stopped for a quick delicious snack. Limited selection but what we got really hit the spot! My kids enjoyed watching them make the dessert snack! The soft serve was creamy the toppings were unlimited. There were tables and counters to enjoy the snack, standing room only. read more

Stopped in for the first time last night after my daughter's soccer game! I'd been wanting to check out SomiSomi for some time. The menu is limited and the inside is pretty bare. I don't recall seeing any tables and I don't think I saw any art on the walls or decorations aside for their logo. We ordered the Cookies and Cream soft serve with Nutella Taiyaki and Ube soft serve. My daughter loved the Cookies and Cream and the Ube was very creamy and not overly sweet, which I loved. They have different toppings to choose from like Oreo crumbles and even fresh strawberries. They even have a cheddar Taiyaki which was very intriguing. I think I will need to check it out next time! Staff gave great recommendations and was very patient when my daughter was trying to decide what to order. We'll be back soon! read more
Soft Serve & Taiyaki [Sacramento, Natomas CA] Yay! This location in the Natomas Marketplace is closer to me than driving to Elk Grove... now if they'd open a new location in Roseville that would be even more wonderful. We came for dessert on a Thursday early evening before heading to the airport. The shop was empty with just one customer ahead of us.. hubby and I shared an upside down ah-boong on Cookies 'n Cream ice cream... I chose Nutella filling. These are fish-shaped pastries paired with soft serve and together known as ah-boong. These are special Korean dessert. They offer different choices of ice cream as well as a selection of filling inside the "fish" and it is quite a delicious dessert. They give you a choice of different toppings... plus your choice of strawberry slice or macaron. No seating inside. Friendly employees. First time visitor. Cashless establishment. NP. Employee with glasses working the closing shift tonight was serving up a bad attitude and was not friendly. As the store's patrons increased, she became more and more unfriendly and rather rude when interacting with my wife, friends and other customers. It became the primary focus of our conversation, instead of the cool desserts we all just purchased. The dessert was good. But unfortunately, it's not worth a repeat visit to Somisomi IMO. Anyone can get free negativity elsewhere. We just wanted to support a local Natomas business by buying a quick sweet treat to cap out the evening. Maybe you'll receive better service than what we experienced tonight. Maybe not. read more
I was initially surprised to see only two employees working and still the service was pretty efficient, especially given how busy it was last Saturday around 5pm. I had never been to SomiSomi before and was excited to try their soft serve and fun looking waffle cone. I was impressed by the bright and inviting feel and very cute design. I found it interesting that they don't have any seating, just two long bar tops that you can stand at, I can understand why though. The menu is extremely easy to read and quickly decide what you want because there's only a few options, but enough for everyone to find something they like. I ordered their special milk tea and Thai tea swirl soft serve with their upside down goldfish-shaped waffle cone filled with custard (per recommendation of the cashier). My husband who is gluten free ordered their cold brew float also with the same soft serve flavor. While we waited, I noticed they have a small station up against the wall opposite the windows with napkins, disposable water cups, and a water dispenser - it's a nice touch! When our order was ready, our name was called and I was asked if I wanted any toppings. Right where you pick up your order, there's some toppings displayed and on the glass it also reads that you can choose between a macaron or a strawberry. I chose the graham cracker crumbs and strawberry. I was impressed at the serving size of soft serve especially for the reasonable price. It began melting a bit on the way home, but was very delicious and left me feeling full and satisfied. I'd love to go back and have their creamy and delicious soft serve again and to also try their taiyaki, which is the full goldfish-shaped waffle cone filled with Nutella, red bean, taro, custard, or cheddar. read more

Nice to see another asian inspired dessert option in Natomas! We came right before closing one evening and it there was still a line. There was a wafting smell of fresh pancakes that lured us in. I tried the red bean filled fish shaped cone with the ube soft serve. My son enjoyed picking the toppings, but you can't really get too much since they roll off the soft serve. The cone is soft and not too sweet, soft serve was a little tart but good. Good local option. read more

Upon entering, we weren't sure if they were open. The door was unlocked, but there were no workers to be seen and the way the inside is - with a long bar top table, and no chairs..it was odd. Felt empty and unfinished.. About a minute after we came in, 3 or 4 friendly workers came out to greet us, and our order was taken. I ordered the upside down with half matcha/half Thai tea soft serve and custard. He ordered the upside down cookies & cream soft serve with Nutella. They were absolutely delicious! Hopefully, they bring in some tables or even some chairs. We wanted to sit, so we ate outside. We think this is a great addition to the neighborhood! read more
I had to write a review specifically for the ube corn flavor combo. Honestly it sounds a little weird, but I would definitely give it a chance. It goes well with the custard filling with some biscoff crumbles on top. I would go back for that combo read more

Out on date night and my date had a sweet tooth after dinner. We wanted to try something new and fun, we came across somi somi. It was really clean inside, with plenty of areas for standing to enjoy your treats. The cashier was very friendly and gave some recommendations on flavors that pair well. I chose the upside down ahboong with cookies & cream flavored soft serve and Nutella for the filling. It was packed inside but didn't take that long for ours to be ready. You get to add toppings when you pick yours up and I opened for the toasted coconut and graham cracker dust. Lastly you choose a strawberry or macaron for the garnish. The soft serve with the toppings was really good, kind of reminded texture wise of a frosty from Wendy's. I took the waffle off, stuffed it with soft serve and ate it like a ice cream sandwich. I'm sure my date and I will come back for future dates to try some more flavors. read more
Living in Natomas, I love how they added a SomiSomi near me, as I'd always had to go to the one on Crocker. I got just the soft-serve without the fish and got the ube/red bean swirl. I was a huge fan of the use flavor, but not so much the red bean, although it did taste exactly like red bean. The thing I was most impressed with was the price! The soft-serve was such a big size and just $4.95 which is way better pricing than other ice-cream spots such as Coldstone's. I've never had problems with the service at SomiSomi. The layout is similar to other locations (I always wish SomiSomis had seating). read more
First time coming to this location and we were not disappointed. Excellent customer service when inquiring about flavors and what custard/toppings would best match. We ended up trying the ube/sweet corn swirl with custard and Biscoff crumble, it was definitely 5/5. Our friends got the matcha/cookies and cream swirl which I would give 3/5. The cookies and cream just tasted like chocolate. But the matcha flavor was good. read more

SomiSomi Natomas is now open between Rubio's and Ttobongee Chicken and Mongolian Wok by Regal theaters (Truxel Rd). A great addition to the area -- the next nearest locations are Sacramento (Crocker Drive by Sac City College) and Elk Grove (Elk Grove Blvd near Olive Garden). Parking is as expected for that area, especially with the new Tsukiji AYCE that also opened there. The setup reminds me more of the Elk Grove location where the counter is immediately close to the entrance. None of the Sacramento area locations have any indoor seating. Self-serve water cups and napkins. There are a few tables outside, but you can also use the tables/benches near the theater too. Service was great, and wait times weren't long at all. Flavors change weekly and do vary from location to location. The week that I went in (twice), the swirl combos available were matcha/guava, and ube/cookies & cream. You can also get them in single flavors. The traditional menu item is the ah-boong which is where the sweet-filled, crispy fish-shaped pancake taiyaki acts as the cone, and the soft serve is inside the cup. I prefer the "upside-down" which is the soft serve in a cup then the taiyaki is upside down. You can also get taiyaki by themselves (note that this is the only way to get Oreo or Cheddar fillings) in either quantities of 2 or 5, or just soft serve in a cup without taiyaki. First, choose your style; then choose your soft serve flavor; then choose your taiyaki filling (taro, red bean, Nutella, or custard). These are made hot and fresh! On my first visit, I got the matcha/guava upside down with Nutella taiyaki. Lots of toppings to choose from like coconut or Biscoff cookie crumbles, but I usually stick to matcha powder, fruity pebbles, cap'n crunch, and either the macaron or strawberry. They also had cute compostable colorful branded spoons! This cup was hefty and well worth it! On my second visit, I got straight-up guava soft serve in a cup. It is one of the seasonal summer flavors (mango is available at other shops), limited time. The current swirls as of 8/1/23 are matcha/ube and cookies and cream/guava. This cup minus the taiyaki was just right and such a pretty pink. My sweet tooth and dessert stomach will be back soon! We're so excited for all these new dessert places popping up in Natomas. Especially for Somi Somi. Customer service was great. Shop is small in size but serves the purpose of order and go. There are some seating outside. I'd stick to their soft serve and Taiyaki. We tried their cold brews and wasn't that impressed. read more
