It's not like I needed another addiction. But I got one: the Pistachio Mix from this sweet little nut shop in Somis. At first glance, the colorful Somis Nut House's Pistachio Mix looks like the mix sold in other retail stores. But this mix is unlike any I've ever encountered. The coating on these pistachios has been applied so generously the flavor is HUGE. It just don't quit. Delicious AF! The mix includes habanero, garlic, jalapeno and lemon tequila. The flavors compliment each other brilliantly. And don't all muddle together; each is distinct, strong and bright. This trip I also picked up some Butter Toffee Peanuts. These, too, were far from ordinary. When they say "butter" toffee they ain't kidding. You can clearly taste the butter. So wonderful! In addition to stocking every kind of nut you can imagine, Somis Nut House boasts a huge selection of old fashioned candies. Big selection of dried fruit too. And preserves and jams. And BBQ sauces. And honey. One of the things I like best about this place is everything is packaged in small bags, like 1/2 lb packages. Totally affordable prices. Makes me want to try a little bit of everything. This place is way out in the sticks, but if you want some great nuts it is well worth the drive. If you can't visit in person, they have an online store https://somisnuthouse.com/ Mikey C says: sometimes you feel like a nut

If you are feeling a little nutty and in Camarillo area, this might be worth a stop! Good place to stop on the back roads between Moorpark and Camarillo for some nuts and more! This place has a large selection of nuts, old school candies, dressing, honey and more! An interesting place to stop in if you like these items! Fair price per the items sold! Always good to support a non big corporate business! And nuts seems fresh!

A favorite stop when in a Somis. Large assortment of nuts, dry fruits, chocolate etc

A perfect place for those that love all things nuts and local foodie gifts! Somis Nut House offers a wide favorite of nuts. You can literally find something for everyone here. I also like buying other local items, including hot sauce from Ojai. Every year for Christmas, I put local Ventura county baskets together for friends and family and always stop buy to get some nuts, candy and hot sauce. Fair prices and always fresh.

This tiny little hole in the wall is one of the coolest places you can stop when taking the back road to Ventura. It's a cool little tourist spot where you can grab local made treats like candies, dressing and marinades, beef jerky, popcorn and of course nuts.

The white chocolate caramel Pecan clusters here are EVIL. It's a damn shame when you play hide and seek by yourself with your own damn candy cause you're trying to stop eating so much of it... I played hide and seek with the candy like 20 times until all three bags were gone. Anyway, I love places like this. All of your favorite blasts from the past...and all candies are homemade! Not the mass produced stuff in grocery stores. This will definitely be on the once every three months visit rotation.

Is anything made with organic ingredients?

It looks like the shop is always closed. No cars in the parking lot. Is it open?

We are open every day from 9:00am to 5:00pm. We have a large red OPEN flag visible from the highway during business hours.

Do they have pinenuts?

The last time I checked they did have pine nuts offered.

Some of the flavors are more traditional like mint n chip, cookie dough, chocolate brownie, etc. They also have other flavors that they have made themselves like It's A Goody. It was hard to know what was in the ice cream because the sign only says the name and doesn't give a description of the flavor. A description would be very helpful as a customer. I asked the young man working what was in the cappuccino ice cream because it looked like some type of nut and he didn't know. We decided to grab a single scoop of the chocolate brownie. This flavor was delicious and perfect for a chocolate lover. I would get this one again. We also got It's A Goody which was vanilla ice cream with chocolate chunks and peanut butter chunks in it. We also ordered the cinnamon one, but we were not given the cinnamon one, we were given the banana pudding one. Thankfully we really liked the banana pudding one because that's not the one we asked for. I think there's some room for improvement at Coaches but I still enjoyed the ice cream.

Even though the food wasn't impressive this time, the customer service was! We sat on the lovely enclosed patio. Vanessa was our server. Her service was 5 star! She was friendly, checked in on us, and all around went above and beyond! The food was pretty good. I got the single portion chicken fajitas. The chicken was very tender. The dish as a whole was lacking flavor. Dare I say it could have even used salt. I was a bit disappointed, but very hungry. I ate half and took the rest home. My mom got the 2 item combo with a chili relleno and beef taco. She loves chili rellenos, but was not happy with hers. Her plate was covered in cheese, but the relleno had no sauce she said. The taco was just beef with a little cheese and a few strands of lettuce. Nothing like the pictures on Yelp. My dad got the taco burrito and he enjoyed his! We loved the chips, salsa, and bean dip! The young guy refilling chips/dip was on top of everything and very sweet! Although we weren't impressed this time with the taste of the food, I will definitely be back to try again!

I've been to a lot of different Rocket Fizz locations and they are all more alike than different…read more And that's a good thing. I love the diverse selection of candy and novelty items. Rocket Fizz stores have such a fun vibe. I love that Rocket Fizz carries really obscure old timey candy bars (like Zero Bars, so good served frozen). And I love their huge selection of Salt Water Taffy. I never actually buy Salt Water Taffy here, but I enjoy what the seemingly endless barrels of the stuff contribute to the aesthetic. It's the same thing with the facsimile posters that cover the walls of every Rocket Fizz. Super fun to look at while shopping. Don't really need to own any. Another great thing about Rocket Fizz is that they stock a wide variety of imported candy. You jonesing for a Lion Bar or a coconut filled Bounty Bar, don't even trip. You can get your fix here. And what's so cool about this particular Rocket Fizz location is they had a lot of versions of familiar candy bars that I had never seen before. Maybe they have these selections at all Rocket Fizz locations these days. I dunno. But this is the first time I saw a bunch of these versions. Berry Whip Snickers. Butterscotch Snickers. Strawberry Snickers, Passion Fruit Snickers. So many weird Snickers. I gotta get me a Butterscotch one. Sea Salt Rocky Road was new to me too. Rocky Road is one of my candy bars, and I bet the Sea Salt version is fantastic. I might never know. I rarely buy candy at Rocket Fizz because their prices are exorbitant. For me, Rocket Fizz is a fun place to visit but I mostly buy my candy elsewhere. The only thing I buy at Rocket Fizz with any regularity is Root Beer. They have a pretty good selection of pure cane sugar Root Beers. But again, the price per bottle is crazy high. Yeah, you get a little bit of a discount when you buy larger quantities but still, the prices are steep. Nevertheless, when my Root Beer supply gets too low and I don't feel like making a pilgrimage down to Galco's, I'm super happy Rocket Fizz is there for me. And every once in a while I'll splurge for one of those overpriced candy bars. Sometimes a Euro candy bar hits just right. Mikey C says: great, now I'm craving a Toblerone.
