They have a good selection of Mexican cuts of meats such as carne asada and ranchera. The highlight of the grocery store is it's small kitchen. They make very savory Mexican food. Almost homemade, almost.

SOLID MEXICAN CHOW OPTION in Oxnard! Recommended by a work friend, claiming this was the best…read moreplace for a burrito in Oxnard! Whaaat?!? There are A LOT of GOOD Mexican eats ALL OVER this city. For reallie, though, the best?!? My interest was piqued, though, when she stood by this claim, but she qualified it by saying BEST POLLO DORADO burrito... HUH?!? Been in Oxnard forever and I NEVER heard of this option ever! Oh geez, now I gotta go! Doh! Located in East Oxnard, in Colonia, it's on the corner of Cooper Rd. & N. Roosevelt Ave. Private parking lot is small & usually full when I come, so it's always been street parking for me. Sunday is the toughest for parking as there is church services next door all day. It's counter service, and there's a hot food window behind the cashier, that's where you drop your order. I've ordered in Spanish and English, nothing lost in translation every time. Aright, let's eat! BURRITO, CARNE ASADA: Good sized burrito, got it with light on the rice and light on the beans, added cheese for some ooey gooey fun! Carne asada was flavorful, juicy, not dry at all. My munchkin (12 y/o) couldn't even finish half. Yeah son, this ain't no Taco Bell burrito. lol BURRITO, POLLO DORADO: WHOA! This bad boy was BIG! No beans or rice for this one, added cheese, pico de gallo and their version of avocado salsa! Basically Pollo dorado is fried chicken chopped up with skin included so there's a nice crunchy texture to it, with all the chicken chunks moist and tasty. I REALLY enjoyed this! Their salsa had some nice heat to it, too. Yeah, gotta say... pretty darn good! EASY RECOMMENDATION! Another Mexican eatery to add to Oxnard's list of solid Mexican restaurants. Friendly staff here to help you with your order. The only thing that is different from other burrito places 'round here, was no tortilla chips were given with your hot food order. That's okay, though, I'll take a bigger burrito over small burrito & chips any day! Enjoy ;)

I speak a little Spanish and my order was ok Kind of upset about the onion and cilantro, it's a big part of flavor for me because I do not get meat. Pictures are the chips and salsa because I was too hungry to wait for pictures with the burrito, they are thorough and they listen to your needs. 4 stars because they could have been welcoming and they forgot my onions and cilantro And I feel like they charged me the gringo tax for the chips and salsa lol

Next to a full service Mexican American market with dry goods, a good produce section and meat counter is a second building housing a full service hot food kitchen with all the good Mexican meats served any way you like (tacos, burritos, tortas, combinations with rice and beans) , and a panaderia (Mexican bakery), tortilleria (corn tortilla production), fruteria/jugueria (fruit & juice bar with good aquas frescas and liquados), and neveria (ice cream counter). Everything I've ever tried here is good. Eat in (para aquí) or take out (para llevar). There is indoor seating for a few dozen. And in between the two buildings (market and restaurant) is a serene Mexican American garden patio space with quiet and very pleasant outdoor seating. The default language is Spanish but the staff also speak English. Down through the years they have been unfailingly polite, patient and indulgent with my rudimentary Spanish language skills. This is one of my happy places. I've been eating here on and off for 25 years. My family like it. Friends I have brought all like it. In all that time the only negative thing I have to say is that their cafe de olla (at the panaderia counter) is rather too sweet for my taste. Which is to say, it is properly made in classic Mexican style. Truth be told I've not yet tried their Mexican style ice creams (made in house) but many flavors are water-based and thus are more like an American sorbet than American ice cream. A couple popular flavors (like strawberry) come in milk-based and water-based style ice cream. This is the traditional Mexican way. Their prices have gone up some down through the years, but that's the restaurant biz in America. I think they still deliver good value for good food and services.

They use Agostino Bakery rolls, which are also used by Dan's Super Subs in Woodland Hills. The bread is soft, and it was cold (refrigerated), so 0.5 points off for that (Dan's steams their rolls). They do sell other items, I just never seem to purchase anything else. Bottom line: For less than $10, I brought home 1 1/2 lbs. of Picada de Res (beef), two large jalapenos, a pack of corn tortillas, a large container of salsa verde, and a bunch of cilantro.
