Not one person said hello or welcome in. I had several questions and also planned to buy 3 plants. however, I just wandered the store looking for someone. I checked out all the aisles and gifts and still wasn't able to talk to anyone. Then, when I decided to leave and was walking out, a staff member welcomed someone who was walking in. This experience isn't the norm. Today was just super frustrating since I made a special trip to get there and really wanted to talk plants. As I've said many times before when we're on family outings, or little family trips, I always have to try and find things that appeal to everybody. One of the sure fire things for the mrs is plant stores, natural, cosmetic and soap, stores and vintage or thrift stores. So naturally, when I saw such an amazing plant store a few miles from the hotel we were at we definitely had to come in and at least grab something to try and bring home without dying in the summer heat of the car. Luckily, we had a cooler with us and it made easy work to get the plant back home safe and sound. Great prices, but they also have very expensive things that are sought after and very established. This place is amazing. I mean the fit and finish and the ambience here is absolutely off the hook. If you're a plant lover, or just looking for something to give us a gift or dress up your house, this is the place to go. read more

Plants galore! Big and small. All varieties. They also carry plenty of pots. Beautiful colors. If you buy a plant and pot, they repot it for you! Staff is very knowledgeable and super friendly and helpful. The plants and pots are on the pricier side. Such a cute store. read more

I've been to somewhere that's green many times but this past Saturday I went in and I was blown away by Deija, Gabe and Malia (hopefully I didn't butcher the names too bad). Anywho, I asked Gabe a few questions about certain plants and he was so helpful and educated me on a few plants as well. Deija potted my plant and recommend a stake and set up my plant for success! Malia greeted me and made me feel welcomed. These 3 were awesome and I hope to see them again. Thanks for all the tips and awesome plants! This place was way too small for how many employees they had working (wAy too many) and people they were allowing in. In my opinion they were very overpriced. Very nice vases but again i think very overpriced some plants were hundreds (ones i had seen at stores locally for a lot less) and some looked sickly/dying. I get you have bills to pay In the ritzy tiny location you rent but as they say these days " know the room " its a pandemic and most people in the area arent going to spend 100 for a cactus. Pictured is a shelf i thought was cute but I'm going to have my bf make me for zero dollars. LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS SHOP! The staff/owners are so friendly and helpful but not pushy. The shop itself is beautiful and well laid out. I don't feel claustrophobic walking around like I do in a lot of shops. They helped me get exactly what I was looking for and offer helpful advice for plants that you have at home. Everyone was wearing masks per covid-19 requirements and the shop had tape on the floor to direct the flow of traffic. LGBTQ+ friendly. read more

The pros are good selection and knowledgeable staff. The cons are consistent across the negative reviews I've seen. Their customer service is 100% focused on them and only protecting them and they have zero flexibility, tolerance or empathy for the customer's point of view. If something goes wrong with your purchase they're probably not going to care. You can see this from the overly defensive and long responses to negative reviews. As a small business owner you need to balance being right and protecting yourself with giving a little to keep a good customer. After finding them earlier this year I've made several purchases and all went well (because I had no issues). Each purchase has been hundreds of dollars. On my last visit I asked to return a $40 pot. It wasn't used, still had price tag on it. I was just outside the 30 day return policy. They said No. I expressed my displeasure. Hard No again. She even made a comment that I could use it for a $400 cactus I wanted to buy. This is so over the top arrogant. No sorry not buying anything else there if you can't budge on returning a $40 pot. Being treated well when asking for a small gesture is one reason I support small business. If you didn't want to accept the return fine but learn how to work with customers so they don't leave never wanting to return. She could have offered me a small discount, an extra reward point on the purchase I was still making that day etc... Also note you are asked to tip them at checkout. As if paying a premium for their products isn't enough. read more

Loveeee this shop! They have such a huge variety of plants and everything plant related. Cute oddities (picked up the cutest morima moss ball in a jar) and love the setup. All the plants looked so healthy. The prices aren't the cheapest but neither is this economy and as everyone is raising their prices, I don't think many people realize that causes small businesses who source their quality products to also fluctuate with that. We're not from the Bend OR area but I love to hit up local plant shops whenever we travel. I stumbled upon this store and it was so beautiful inside! The employees were super friendly and even potted my plant for me. I've gotten plants from other plant shops and some have struggled but this gal has been doing so good! Loved this store immediately- initial visit was great w helpful staff and bought 2 beautiful plants. When I got home and went to re-pot them the soil was so loose they both fell apart. The roots of the snake plant were so shallow all of the leaves separated. I now have it wired to stand up but janky for the cost. I went back in for help but little show of backing the product was found. Basically told would likely die and good luck. I'm all for supporting local but things like this make me frustrated. read more

What a lovely little special place. Visiting Bend, I had the pleasure of going into this shop with a local plant fanatic. Not only is the greenery precious and comforting, it really embraced the feeling of adopting a plant rather than buying them. The staff curated their suggestions to my comfort, knowledge level, and personality. I really feel like I walked away with a new member of the family. I wasn't originally intending on bringing a plant home from out of state but it made great company on the 8 hour drive home and he fits right in with the rest of my home. They have a huge selection of quality plants, an incredibly welcoming staff, and giant selection of gifts/trinkets/pots. It's become a fun spot to go shop plants on the weekend and one of our favorite places to buy gifts for friends/family. I have frequented this lovely place for years. But had such a negative experience today. A friend gifted me with a plant and I brought it in to buy a new pot. I was also looking for a new plant for an existing pot. I found a pot, but when I asked them to pot my plant in it, they declined saying "you have to purchase the plant here also". I am willing to pay more money at this store, since I want to support a local business, and appreciate the great selection and great service. This seemed like a chintzy move, to me. If you want to provide great service, don't haggle over such a small thing and then offer to sell me two bags of soil for what would hav taken just a small amount of time. Staff was very welcoming, store was extremely clean, and all the plants looked extremely happy and well taken care of. Absolutely gorgeous shop. You really couldn't tell from the outside, it looks like a dark little side of the road shop; but once you step inside it's like a whole different world. The interior was so bright and welcoming. The plants themselves which were so happy and well cared for, the upbeat chill music, the wall of pots (with equal parts male and female genital pottery ), the little details made the energy so wonderful. Staff was attentive and welcoming. My only note is that the plants are pretty expensive here (small ones starting at $10 and the big boys going for $200+), which is probably reasonable- idk what plants cost here i'm from Southern California. Anyways, if you're in the neighborhood or looking for a plant shop with welcoming energy, come straight here. i legitimately do not understand how they don't have an all-over 5 star rating. This place is trendy and cute, and they do have a ton of plants and cute pots. But the plants are way overpriced, and I had a really bad experience there. I bought an "ugly plant" on sale, and it turned out that the reason it was sickly was because it was infested with bugs. I found them a couple days after I brought the plant home. I called to ask about it, and the girl on the phone was extremely rude and unsympathetic, declaring that they'd "NEVER sell an infested plant." Well I'm sorry, but there is just no way it got infested like that in the 2 days I had it. My respect for that place disappeared with that experience. You're better off looking elsewhere for plants, and you'll likely get a much better price anyway. read more

I've been following John's store from small beginnings and I've never met a more kind, honest and humble shop owner. He has spent countless hours over the past year educating me on how best to care for the plants he has sold me (And even how to rehab ones he didn't sell me!). He also frequently looks for ways to amplify local artists, Which we love. His shop is always abundant and clean with the nicest and most knowledgeable employees. I don't know where to begin! Somewhere That's Green is such a beautiful shop and the shop owner, John, is so incredibly passionate about his work. Taking care of plants is a huge hobby of mine and when I stumbled upon this little space my jaw literally dropped. All of the plants are healthy, thriving and fair priced. If you follow John's social media he shares his plant knowledge and you can keep up to date with his workshops. I came in looking for any variety of monstera (my favorite, which I hadn't had luck finding in this area), and I was so excited to find an adansonii hanging. I had extra errands to run and the weather was too cold to leave it in my car so he offered to put it off to the side for me to pick up the next day.
