This semi-new restaurant is located right on Bovaird and Main. I've been hearing from my Filipino…read morefriends and family that it's a great place to eat Filipino food in Brampton. I was surprised how popular it was inside and the restaurant wasn't registered on Yelp! So coming in, the restaurant is very clean and we were greeted by a very friendly (I assume) the owner of the restaurant. The menu has a wide variety of Filipino/Chinese food from lumpia, grilled pompano, pancit and beef steak. They have a large selection of deserts as well such as Turon and halo-halo. There is a lot more on the menu that you should check out including family combos. They do catering and private events as well. I was actually expecting this place to serve preprepared food like almost all Filipino restaurants I've been to. Instead, it had a real sit down focus.Me and my mom decided to go with the grilled pompano and beef steak. The restaurant itself is very clean and spacious. Since we didn't have time to eat we decided to get some take out. The food came very quick and was very tasty. I was honestly expecting it to taste like chinese fast food due to the price point being so cheap, but it really does taste fresh and actually like food. All in all, this is my new go to for Filipino food and I'm excited to come back and try the rest of the menu.

Clean, very friendly & they explained items on the menu. Ordered Fresh Lumpia, Singang Shrimp soup & Grilled Chicken Legs with a mango salad. Large portion sizes. Could have easily fed two people with this order. It was all very fresh & delicious tasting. Will definitely return the next time I'm in the area. Prices are very reasonable.

Cute little restaurant spot that has premade mains thats heated with a basin. I believe they cook…read morethroughout the day and replenish it every now and then. Overall, good selection of filipino dishes. Hard to really know what they were but staff is willing to explain each dish if needed. Choice between one or two meats with rice for a decent price just above $10. Also have all day breakfast with garlic rice, fried egg and a slice of tomato + cucumber + a raisin. Sort of cute. Beef Pares Silog 5/5 - definitely can see why its a popular dish. - garlic rice was very fragrant and heavy on the garlic which was delicious for me, fried garlic provided that aroma that made the dish very good - eggs were well cooked, yolk was oozing giving it a nice creamy texture to the rice and extra 'sauce' - not overly salty dish either - beef was tender, small chunks but very fragrant in soy sauce and sweetness, good balance of garlic in the sauce but not overpowering which can happen Dinner meals 4/5 - had the squid which was nice, seasoning was very standard and you can taste the squid shine on its own, a bit one noted for this dish but overall enjoyable if you like the soy + squid combination with a hint of acidity - the other dish was a beef + tomatoey sauce with some veggies, i'm sorry to say i dont remember what it was but flavours were well blended and beef was tender, would go for this again if i can choose! Halo Halo 4/5 - flan on top was delicious, creamy and smooth but I was told to mix it all together, honestly wouldve been happy to just eat the flan! - ube ice cream was coconutty which I anticipated, the ube notes are present but I think overall ube is hard to really stand out - somewhat on the sweet side but not overpowering - jackfruit bits were great for texture, beans and such at the bottom was present and provided a good amount - decent price for what its worth, very pretty for pictures! Overall would come back for a quick meal thats relatively cheap! Good value for sure. My filipino friend approves. WOuld love to try their kamayan!

Visited Berto's to beat this summer heat and left feeling satisfied. The workers are very friendly…read moreand polite. The place was bright and airy as well. We ordered their Halo-Halo, Palabok and their Berto's Fried Chicken. Halo-Halo (5/5) is hands down the best summer dessert. It's so refreshing and had the perfect blend of sweetness and creaminess. They added the perfect amount of ube ice cream, caramel flan and a mixture of jelly, red beans and sugar palm fruit at the bottom. It's a must-try treat. Palabok (2/5) was okay. It was a bit dry and not as saucy as we would've preferred. It could use some chicharron (pork rinds). There's not much protein in this meal other than the boiled egg which was a let-down. We also noticed that some of the noodles have crisped up as well which must've been from the heat lamp/steam table. The dish could use some shrimp and topped with some fried garlic chips. Berto's Fried Chicken (5/5) was delicious. It was fresh, tender and juicy. It had the right amount of seasoning that didn't make it overwhelmingly salty. The garlic fried rice and fried eggs were a great combination with chicken. Any of their breakfast items have always been good.

Cute little counter service place with the nicest lady at the front!…read more We ordered to-go and she offered us water as we waited as well as a sample of their deep fried chicken skin or pork skin? (Idk) but it was delicious. Best thing we had here was that Halo Halo!!! Soooo yummy and pretty! And the lady that made it was so proud of her creation, so cute! There's a piece of flan in the halo halo, which was delicious! And that ube mash. And the banana mash-thing... so good. The pork belly rice was pretty good - kinda what you'd expect from deep fried belly. Palabok was good i think? It just wasn't my cup of tea. Everything was very hot and fresh! I would definitely return to try their other items and get another halo halo, duhhhhh.

Originally, a group of us (twelve) from work wanted to visit La Bonita for lunch last Friday. My…read morefriend had made the reservation. However, she got a voice message in Spanish and didn't understand it. We got to La Bonita and the sign said that it would be closed till January 30. Well, we went on January 31 and it was still closed. Perhaps that was the message that my friend got -- that it was closed. The twelve of us were standing outside. Where should we go next? One of them suggested walking over to Carinderia. She said that it was "around the corner" and had never been there before. It was more like three corners, but we all walked over like we were doing a school trip. We put together a number of tables. We then went up to the counter to place our orders. This place offers Filipino food. We had two folks, including my intern, who helped us decipher the menu. I saw ramen on the menu and I knew that I had to have a bowl. The mami ramen with grilled pork belly was calling my name. My intern knew that I would get it. I also eyed the halo halo, but needed to figure out how full I would be after eating the ramen. While waiting in line, a man came over with a bin of fried chicken skins and offered them to us. It was such a kind, generous gesture. I took a photo and then grabbed one. It was delicious. So good! The woman taking our orders was sweet. She was happy talking to my intern. The Filipino connection bonded them. She thanked him for bringing us over here, ultimately bringing her business. I joked that he is now VIP at this eatery. I ordered the ramen and grabbed a bottle of C2 apple green tea. I paid using a debit card. She took my name and said that she'd call me when my order was ready. My friend started with dessert. She got flan and was sharing it with everyone at our table. I didn't feel like dessert at this stage, but it did look creamy. I was sipping my C2 apple green tea. It was yummy. It wasn't overly sweet. I am a fan. I learned a few Filipino words while we were waiting: - Carinderia means canteen or cafeteria - Halo halo translates to mix mix, which is what you need to do when you get this dessert - Salamat means thanks The food came out one order after the other. I got my food in about fifteen minutes. That's not bad, but I was hungry. At first, the ramen portion looks small. However, it's incredibly deceiving. The noodles were chewy and perfect. You get a whole hard-boiled egg that is split in half. The grilled pork belly were generous portions that were thick and full of flavour. Speaking of flavour, that broth! It was so delicious. Unfortunately, the place ran out of metal spoons. My intern asked for a spoon on my behalf and we got plastic ones. They weren't meant for ramen noodles and broth, but they still worked out well. Two colleagues got halo halo for dessert. It has a bunch of goodies in it. My intern doesn't like the texture of halo halo, so he passed. Our other colleague who is Filipino, was hoping for ice cream in it. This one did not have it, but she said that it was good otherwise. The woman handling our orders came over to our table to thank us for coming. She apologized for the wait. We were all happy and loved our food. I let her know that the food was delicious, which made her day. There are hot food items available that are not mentioned on the menu. You have to look and ask what the food items are. They change daily. I'd come back here and try more food. I loved my food. Prices are reasonable. (41)

The atmosphere really feels like a ma and pa restaurant, they have a little stage for live music at night (didn't get to experience it this time since we came during lunch). The restaurant is cozy, but not necessarily the nicest looking but has a lot of soul! Service was great, staff were very friendly and spent their time explaining the menu and giving their recommendations as well. We (part of four) ordered the following: Silog Sampler - variety of savory seasoned meats (pork chop, beef, chicken and pork) served with garlics rice and egg - absolutely delicious and a good size to share between 2 people - 9/10 Sisig Sampler - $19.99 - large dish with a variety of different meats; chopped pork jowl, pork belly, chicken, tofu mixed and seasoned with calamansi, onions and mayo. The large dish is served with garlic rice - 9/10 Chicken Adobo with Rice - $15.99 - chicken seasoned in soy sauce, garlic, salt and vinegar, served with rice. Very tasty and delicious but not as exciting as the samplers - 8/10 Overall I highly recommend, the food was great and prices were very reasonable, they offer some sort of buffet style breakfast too! But didn't get to try since we came for lunch!

When we arrive there, we had found out that there was a previous party that had booked the venue but was suppose to end at 5pm. The other party had extended an hour and continued to stay, already going in an hour of my family's booking time. I had later found out that this other party was the co-owners party. The co-owner was making a speech saying how we are celebrating two events and this is a shared space. Mind you, my family had booked the event space for her birthday, the other party had over stayed. It took another family to tell the owner that we would like to have our own space now to celebrate. Our babies were getting fussy due to the loud music and the off pitch singing the other party was doing. Extremely unprofessional on the owners side. If you're running business, keep it professional and personal separate. Owner should respect customer's bookings and should know when to kick people out. Out of all the Filipino karaoke bars I have been, this is probably the worst establishment and I highly would not recommend this place to anyone.
