Somerset is unlike anything I have seen in the Midwest. I feel like I stepped into an entirely different place on the earth, consumed by massive vegetation and intricately designed artifacts. It is reminiscent of a magical garden bar that could only exist on the other side of the world. The craftsmanship of this experience is further enhanced by the damn good cocktails they serve up. Seriously- where the hell did this place come from? It's absolutely the best drinking experience I've ever had in my life... and trust me- I may have had a few. This space is so so well done. Even though it's a fairly busy place, you can still find your own little area to sit with friends, and it feels really initiate. I recently took a break from alcohol, and their mocktails are the best in the city. The Ziggy Stardust gives your that fancy cocktail feel without the booze. It's sparkly and Delicious. The dog friendly policy is a plus, and they even have a dog treat dispenser. The bartenders are efficient, accommodating, and welcoming to all. Great vibe and location. The music is great. They have some very cool art from all over the world on their walls. We actually recognized a few posters from India. It does get quite crowded on the weekends so be prepared for that. Our main issue is the drinks. We had about 4 cocktails and they were all extremely watered down. Somerset is a cute, super full of plants bar. Lol! I've seen pictures and was always in wow! I finally had the opportunity to give them a try during a wedding reception. We were in the library room. It is a nice sized room that provides plenty of space. Lots of people were coming and going to say hello to the bride and groom. They had music playing and it was a good time. The library has its own bar which was also nice. The staff was very nice and accommodating. My husband and I had the chance to enjoy some drinks. I had the Royal Chai and my husband had the Molotov Mule. Both drinks were good and appealing to the eye. The Royal Chai had a slight spice hence the name. The mule was good and had pops of color. While we didn't go to other parts of the bar, I did walk around before the event started. It's beautiful. If you love plants this will be your getaway oasis. It's a cute earthy vibe. Id certainly come back and experience more of the bar and it's drinks. read more

Came last weekend, and the space is out of this world. I loved the atmosphere, and wasn't expecting much from the rest bc I'm used to things working out like that. However, the bartender's drinks were all great. They were even better. I had a few, Britney, Jacob and carie I think? They were all so welcoming, and Jacob made us classics not on menu that were on point. So, you basically can't go wrong. My friend drank wine, and even their wine list, even small, is great. We visited after having been to a winery down the street. At the door they checked IDs and bags and said we couldn't bring in the bottles of wine we had just purchased but that they would hold them for us until we were ready to leave. We were very much ready to leave after a single drink - this is a bar for 20 something yr olds. While I'm sure I would have loved it in my 20's - the bier garden meets club idea is unique and the outdoor space is well crafted w a certain whimsy - it's no longer my scene. We did appreciate the bar tending staff who were efficient and attentive. My problem occurred when we tried to reclaim our bottles we found that they had given them away. The manager was apologetic and gave us 2 bottles from their stock but these do not replace the bottles we had specifically selected after our wine tasting experience. I understand that she rectified the situation the only way she could but it shouldn't have happened in the first place. Bottom line: don't tell people you will keep their possessions safe if you don't have the processes to follow thru. I hope management will take a serious look at their processes and train their employees better. read more

This bar is quite impressive! The drinks are unique with varied flavors and ample options. The space itself is extremely large and well designed. Indoor spaces offer cozy seating in some parts and open air standing room in others. Outdoor seating areas are even more engaging with wood carved structures and other seating nestled into the overflowing foliage. Overall the drinks are unique, the space is gorgeous, and the experience is very positive. My only complaint is the location. You WILL be harassed if you walk anywhere around the bar. My group was heckled and followed by a homeless man, a lecherous man accosted a girl in our group, and some local kids began throwing food at us. I know that sounds fake, but I'm not kidding. The area is not representative of the bar itself, but something you should consider prior to visiting. My recommendation is Ubering there and back if you don't live in the area. read more

BRIAN gave me a great drunk recommendation: jalapeño vodka on sprite (with a few drops of pepper oil to make it more spicy). 100% recommend coming here. One of the coolest outdoor drinking spaces in Cincinnati! The bar itself is still close to all the main activities of Vine St/OTR, but is nested away in a quiet little corner of Cincy. The bar had all kinds of cool plants, seating areas, and an overall great atmosphere. There was a great selection of drinks and all were fairly priced. We are frequent bar goers and loved the amazing layout and beautiful decor (LOST wall and room was our favorite) of Somerset Bar but the location is kind of in a sketchy area so be careful parking and walking to this bar (someone offered to sell us crack on the short walk in). Besides the amazing setup and design the staff is NOT welcoming and NOT friendly. We ordered drinks at the study bar and an older blond bartender with glasses in a track suit was rude to us and made fun of the drinks we ordered to our faces. It also disrupted the beautiful ambiance because a tall security guard (tall skinny older male approximately 6'4 in height) kept shouting into his cell phone all night and taking shots with his friends right next to us at the bar and kept bumping into us several times (we suspect drunk and must have been having a rough night). Overall feedback - Beautiful design but hire new friendly staffing and we would come back with our large group of colleagues. We would go back for the decor read more

Just love this place. There are a lot of interesting stuff. I found signs in Russian, Ukrainian, Belarusian, and it's so nice to see something like that. Drinks are really good, but it was a second day from opening and they didn't have some ingredients for cocktails which my friends and I wanted, but it's okay. It was my first time coming to this bar last night and I was not impressed at all. None of the bartenders make eye contact with you and I waited 15-20 mins to get looked at and I asked this blonde bartender if I could please order a drink. She yelled "when it's your turn, yea" I said excuse me? And she repeated herself, when it's your turn yeah. I immediately turned around and left and will not come back there. She was so rude. I am a former bartender and when I'm under stress or busy I would never talk to someone like that. I also had people with me who had never been. I would never recommend this place again. read more
