I had my doubts. I mean I REALLY had my doubts. The last few times (3/4) that I had been there were epic failures. I digress, that was THEN, this is NOW. I don't know what happened, who did what when, or when it happened. But, my GOODNESS they are ON POINT now. Sublime burgers in their simplicity in the sear on the beef, the choice of extras (yes to bacon, medium fried egg, and grilled jalepenos please), the toast on the bun to hold in all of that juiciness from the patty, the twice cooked french fries, the super thick milkshakes (or malted milkshake if you prefer and they even ask how much malt you would like), the attentive, appreciative, and accommodating staff, and the old school atmosphere, make this a MUST stop in Baytown and ANYWHERE you are coming from or going to. I have not passed up a stop into this classic throwback eatery ANY time it has been offered or even slightly suggested that we eat there. I suggest that you don't pass it up either. If I could rate this place 0, I would. We placed an order over the phone. Because we ordered more than 3 burgers they made us pay over the phone, which I was skeptical about because I wasn't sure what exactly I was being charged for. The reason I didn't know exactly what I was being charged for is because my total came out to nearly $60. When I arrived to the place they gave me my receipt. When looking at the menu it says basket includes fries & a drink. I'm being charged for a drink. The SB. Is for the lettuce & buns. Which is $4.65. Which is what I was told when I called to check. Looking at the menu it says there's a some burger special. It's very contradicting, I don't know if the prices weren't honored due to the fact that we ordered over the phone. Hard to give more stars when it's a frozen burger. But, there wasn't anything wrong with it. I just got cheese and bacon. And I wasn't sad. The onion rings were just ok. Very crispy though, so that was nice. He got cheese, bacon and jalapeños. He says it was decent. The fries were probably the best thing. We spent $20 for the two meals. They don't have much variety...or options. But, it was 3 well-mannered and polite guys (looked like high school kids) working there. And I liked them. read more

This place is still great!! Even after a whole year the quality of the food didn't change even thought the cook was different. I'm still very pleased with my burger. I've seen people say that this is the "best food in town" and if that's true, Baytown needs new restaurants. This is nowhere close to the best burger I've had nor was anything else as good as I can get at Five Guys or even Sonic. First of all, this is a small restaurant. The tables are pushed close together and they have a few booths as well. All crowded and close-quartered but not romantic in the slightest. We had a tough time finding not only a spot to eat but somewhere to park as well. We started with the unsweetened tea which was some of the worst I've had. It was watered down and tasted like caffeinated water. My husband ordered the fish sandwich and I, the kids burger, chicken nuggets and chili cheese fries. The chili cheese fries were not on the menu so they had to use American sliced cheese on top. Yikes. Not a great combo with canned chili. It resembled and tasted like what I imagine dog food would. The chicken nuggets tasted defrosted and microwaved. I ate about two and gave up because I realized I've had better at McDonald's. The burger was good. Not great. The tomatoes were soggy and the lettuce was old. The patty tasted freshly cooked but who honestly knows? My husband enjoyed his fish sandwich, but again....defrosted. Not sure I'd be back. If I want a great burger with fresh ingredients, I'll hit up five guys or Ricky's thick and juicy. This was such a letdown. I will say though that the staff was friendly and got our food to us in a quickie during a busy lunch hour. read more

This place used to be great. I would of given them a 5 star review in a heart beat. Ever since it was taken over new management it went to crap. The service and quality of the food is just simply no longer there. They hired a bunch of kids that don't seem to know what they are doing. I used to call to place my order for pick up and always had it wrong. Then I decided to just order online and hope they would get it right seeing that it would be easier for them to understand, but no. It just got worse. I was missing fries and extra condiments I paid for. I can understand if it happens every now and then, but it has become a constant disaster. Horrible service from workers to owner. I will never come back. I came here because a co-worker said burger was good. I placed an order and got my cup to get me drink. Waited for 20 minutes and kept seeing people in and out but my food wasn't ready, I came up and asked about my order. The one took my order and money, now don't recognize me, he asked for name. I told him my name and he realized that he never put my order in. The cook crews in the back were having an argument about something or maybe they are just rude to each other on a normal basis. He rushed to put in an order. I told him don't worry about it, I am late to get back to work so just refund me my change because I took a drink. He insisted that it will take only a couple minutes. I gave him that chance and stood at the counter to wait, almost 10 minutes later, my food wasn't ready so I demanded my money back and offer that I would pay for the drink that I drank out of. He was kind of ignore me for another 5 minutes by taking more orders with new people just came in. Finally, the food came out and they wanted to give it to me but I refuse to take it. They would not gave me money back and called out the owner. The owner listened to the cook for about 10 seconds said that she got the order and now I don't want my food. The owner turned over to me and asked so you don't want your food now. I said no, and he basically threw the money at me and told me "don't come back". If I was want late to my meeting at 1pm I may have waited longer or taken my food, but would not realize how rude it got. I normally would love to support "mom and pop" local business but this restaurant doesn't deserve my business nor support. Stay away unless you have better tolerance for negative talk, rudeness and poor customer service. I don't care how good their burger can be, I don't want to deal with this type attitude and service which ruined my lunch and my day. read more

If you're looking an old fashion burger joint, this is the place. Friendly service and a good value. The kitchen is open and you can watch your food cooking from the counter. I like the bacon cheese burger and fresh cut fries. You wont go hungry with a single as they are a good size patty. It's a small place and that's what makes it so cool. It doesn't look like much and hasn't been redecorated in years, that just adds the charm. If you show up around noon you might have to wait for a table inside but you can set outside if you don't mind the weather. In all, Someburger is a great burger stand with good service and food. They cook thin frozen patties, but they season them on the grill as they're cooking, and they're your old fashioned huge (but again, thin) hamburger place. Shoestring fries seasoned just right, a bunch of old fat men on their lunch breaks, and clean decor that hasn't been updated in decades. I kinda want to give it 3 stars because the burger isn't anything to write home about... Admit it, you want to find that hole-in-the-wall awesome hamburger place that you're the first of all your friends to know about. I was running an errand and driving through Baytown about lunch time and just happened to spot Someburger, and I hoped that I found one. I pulled into the parking lot, and had to go around back due to all the front spots being taken. There were a few older men in there mechanics uniforms heading in when I arrived, and I took both as a good sign. It's a small place with a "I haven't updated in the last 30 years, so why start now" charm to it. You order at the counter and wait for your name to be called. I ordered a cheeseburger with just meat and cheese. I find it's best to get an accurate judging of the burger this way. I opted for the basket that came with fries and a fountain drink. The total was just under $8. I believe the owner was actually doing the cooking, and I had high hopes when I saw the buns on the griddle hitting the burger grease. When my name was called and I returned to my table, the first thing I did was popped off a bun to view the meat. DRATS!!! It was a preformed burger, and not the loose patted patty like the one I had at Hubcab the week before. It is a greasy burger, not to be confused with an oozing burger. For a preformed burger, the flavor was actually pretty good, but nothing more. The cheese was standard American, which is fine, but the slice was fairly thin. Had I opted for onions and such, I don't know if I would have actually detected the cheese. The bun is just a standard hamburger bun thrown on the griddle. At first I was happy to see it being grilled on the burger grease, but since the burger was pretty greasy, the grease cooked into the bun made it a bit overloaded. Like I said, it's not a bad burger, unless, like my wife, you don't like much grease. I actually think that this is probably what the original Whataburgers were probably like (just a guess). The fries were a lot like the Five Guys fries (without the seasoning), and since root beer was available at the fountain, that was all good for me. If I'm in the Baytown area and in the mood for a quick burger, I'd consider returning to Someburger, but not as a special trip. Additionally, if I knew where Ricky's was (and it was the same as the one in Crosby), I'd pick it over Someburger. read more

Now I love mom and pop hamburger stands. Growing up, I remember my dad taking all of us to these places. Some burger is no different. It is a small cozy space with an open kitchen to see the action. You have your choice of a basket that comes with a side of fries,onion rings and a drink. This will set you back $7.40 but the quality of what you get is worth it. You have the option of add ons from cheese to jalapenos @ .60 an extra patty is $1.10 You even have the option of kids meals for your little ones at $3.99. I must say we enjoyed our meal here. Good Burger and Fries. Fries crispy in the outside and soft in the inside, perfectly cooked. I had them sprinkle on a bit of the Tony's Sat dust. Burger is a good size. I had bacon and cheese, all the way with mustard and mayo. It was a bit heavy on the onions for my taste, but nothing to stop me from eating the whole thing. Bun is toasted with a crispy edge around it, loved the texture! Beef patty tasted great. Five stars, it's everything a burger place should be! On my second trip, both burgers were made wrong and the entire time we ate we had to listen to 2 of the all young employees one up each other with stories of getting high, lying to their parents, and cursing. This tiny little hamburger stop reminded me of other hole in the wall joints that turned out to be pretty good. Unfortunately, this one did not live up to expectations. The burgers are frozen and only a 1/3rd pound. Make that two parties and bacon with a basket of fries and a drink, and you're looking at a VERY expensive hamburger lunch. Ask for no cheese? They'll put it on there anyway and have to remake the burger. The fries are cooked in very dirty grease, over salted, and most are less than an inch long. The bacon is paper thin, and tasteless. The bun is the greasiest thing in this place. Pass this place by. These are Burger King quality burgers for twice the price. read more
