Service was very disappointing! Cool sculpting is not for everyone and I learned the hard way. Make sure to get a second opinion before you go there for your services. I would rather have gone to a doctor's office where they are skilled and and trained!!! I was told false information, such as, it doesn't hurt and I was in pain during and after the sessions. I was also told that this is proven to work, but I saw ZERO results. They could not show me prove that it works through photos, but kept insisting that it worked on me. ALL LIES!! I pretty much felt that they take anyone just to make $$$. Don't be fooled by the initial "friendly" encounter you get. I had an IPL facial here that I bought through one of those deal websites -- I wanted to try it and was especially hoping to reduce the appearance of a few broken capillaries around my nose. First, the good: the spa space was nice and the woman who did my treatment seemed like was experienced (a little hard to tell, since this was my first time). I got compliments for several weeks afterwards that my skin looked good which I'm attributing to the treatment. The not-so-great: before I went into the treatment room, the woman doing my treatment asked me if the receptionist could come in and observe. I thought that was just weird -- it's not a beauty school -- so I just politely declined and it was awkward all around. In addition, the treatment did nothing to diminish the broken capillaries. In fact I had to ask girl to go over the areas -- she seemed to skip them, which I thought was odd since I told her that was the main reason I was there. So overall, a bit of an awkward experience and while I saw some benefit, it was not what I was looking for. read more

My husband and I got the Emsculpt treatment done at SoLux Med Spa together. We were both very happy with just one treatment! It targets all of the problem areas and for both my husband and myself, that is our lower abs. The other great thing is that you can do this treatment with a friend, which in turn helps cut the cost! It was not painful at all, and after a while you get use to the treatment. They recommend getting three treatments for best results! read more

I just wanted to update my review since its been a while. I have to give credit where credit is due. I have been with So Lux as a client for about 2 years and I my skin has never been healthier. Angie has been giving me routine green peels and a great customized facial regimen and my face literally glows. Between the Green Peels, IPL, and my Botox, I couldn't be happier with the results. I know with my earlier skepticism I wasn't sure what to make of the daily regimen and I wasn't truly following it and she definitely noticed when I would go in. So once I started to really follow it per her instructions, not my usual lazy version, it really worked. This place and specifically SARA has become my facial hero! I have put my "money maker" --face as it's the first thing you sell when you walk into an account as I do-- thru the ringer of fitness competitions, constant travel, no sleep, and a list of things we all know kill your complexion. I began suffering from horrible breakouts and crazy dry peeling skin around my cheeks just after turning 30 in December... So much so I went to a dermotologist and she prescribed about 5 different lotions, ointments, and even a harsh acid based peel. Needless to say nothing worked to relieve my facial woes. I returned to my old regimen of crazy thick moisturizers, varied cleansers and the Mia brush thing... After a conversation with a few of my close friends they were raving about Solux, the GreenPeel and Sara and how great she was at really understanding how to work the peels, facials, treatments and everything Solux has to work with your skin and repair damage or at least get your skin on the right track. Let's put it this way.... I used to never NEVER leave the house with just moisturizer and bb or cc cream and a little eye liner on for fear that the redness or blemishes were all someone could see on my face ... and now after 1 Green Peel (that was amazing by the way) and following Sara's instructions to be sure that the product was given adequate support by increasing water, SPF protection, and a few other tricks, and by having a moisture intense facial.. literally yesterday... Today I can proudly say all I had on was essentially tinted moisturizer and I felt 100% confident--actually didn't even think about it! Must say after all of the things I have tried, and people I've asked advice from... by far Solux has been the best, and Sara the most informative and helpful of anyone. Nightmare on Hubbard Street! I went to an event hosted by Pretty City at So Lux on Sept. 8th. I set up an appointment for a skin analysis, which they cancelled for another event. I had to call them to set up another app't. When I went to the 2nd app't they told me that neither their skin analysis machine nor their booking system was working so "they didn't have me in the system". They asked me to wait until it was fixed, telling me it would only be a few minutes. After 45 minutes I had to go back to work. While I was waiting I sat in a waiting room with nothing to read surrounded by fake candles and fake flowers. Not a good vibe. A gentleman by the name of Valentino said nothing to me as he took personnal phone calls. When I said I was leaving he apologized and said he'd call me and give me a complimentary service for my troubles. Didn't happen. Nothing. Not only were they unprofessional and totally disorganized, they wasted 2 hours of my time. I was ready to shell out a lot of money on services, thankfully I won't be using them because I'm sure they will be out of business before my services would be finished. The good news is they hacked up my time and didn't get a chance on my face. Stay away. If I could zero stars, I would. read more

This review is LONG over due. I'm fair complected with lots of freckles and some sun damage. I've tried just about every OTC skin care product claiming to balance skin tone, erase sun damage and lighten dark spots. There were a few spots on my face that I felt would never go away and almost haunted me every time I looked in the mirror. I booked an appointment with Dalia for a IPL. She explained to me that a IPL is an intense "laser light" that penetrates into the deep layers of the skin targeting unwanted pigmentation causing it to surface. I suffer from slight anxiety so I was having some trouble trying to "relax". (and by some, I mean a lot) Angie was actually kind enough to step away from what she was doing to literally hold my had while her and Dalia talked me through the ENTIRE treatment. Anybody who suffers from anxiety would appreciate such a kind gesture. There are a million Medi Spas in Chicago and I am so very thankful that I chose this one. As for my results....... It's unbelievable!!! My face looks flawless only after a few treatments. I had marks on my face that I thought I would be stuck with me for the rest of my life and Thanks to my IPL's from SO LUX I can't actually look in the mirror and am happy with what I see. So Lux Med Spa has changed my life. I have never seen results from a facial as amazing and transforming as I do here - especially the glowing green facials. Many spas are all about relaxation - but when I spend money on a facial, I want results. And So Lux focuses on results. Yes, they are sometimes hard to reach, but they are a growing business, owned by two amazing ladies, and I will always support women trying to make it in this city. i'm a fan. first time venturing into the world of lasers, but with a youswoop in hand, i figured i'd give it a go. first up--underarm hair removal. not nearly as painful as i thought it'd be. the medspa is absolutely spotless and has great decor. it is just the right mix of being pretty and feeling like you're getting actual medical-type services. edie was my technician, and she's great. highly recommend the place if only for her. she explained everything thoroughly and definitely went easy on me the first time around. i'm just about done with that area, so am considering other locations. read more

I followed these skin care technicians from the form West Loop Anti-Ageing salon to their new location at So Lux. Admittedly there was some confusion in the move with appointment times, but they have always made it up with complimentary services for any time lost. And let me say, they are excellent! Since the first treatment I had in 2008, my skin care has practically been a personal project to them. I had tremendous sun damage, and both Angelica and Dalia have worked on my treatments - a custom combination of IPL, microdermabrasion, chemical peels, and laser resurfacing. They even consulted with the laser manufacturers to determine the best hand piece, etc. to attack the myriad of stubborn age spots I had. And when one treatment was not working, they credited me and tried a different method that did work.The result of their efforts is phenomenal: I have a clear complexion and look years younger than when I first walked through their door. read more
