Food was excellent - my wife had the lasagna said it was awesome - my mother in law had the salmon she was salivating over - I had my usual spaghetti and meatballs which was delicious. Great find in Jackson in a small strip plaza. We were a group of 8 at a very comfortable table. Our waiter, John did a fabulous job with taking all our orders and making sure we were comfortable and taken care of from start to finish. He opened up our wine bottles and supplied water with lemon and made great recommendations. The nice salad was large enough for 4 people and it was only $10. I had the blackened grouper but exchanged the risotto for broccoli rabe. Others ordered the osso buco, eggplant rollatini, Seafood fra diavolo, and The Flounder with mashed potatoes and vegetables. Nobody had a bad meal and everybody had enough honestly to have lunch the next day. Focaccia bread was placed on the table immediately with a delicious dipping sauce. We were celebrating a lot of our birthdays so we did order a few tartufo and a cheesecake. They placed the candle and we all made a wish for a bright future. It was a wonderful evening. It's a great place for groups and Families to enjoy dinner. There are fabulous specials on Monday and Tuesday to eat like a king and pay almost nothing. Considering how perfect the food is in house, I can't understand how the curbside pickup service is so disappointing. Here are a few things that have turned us off - won't chop salad, won't even consider including minimal bread with 2 meals and didn't include extra cheese even though it was specifically requested. The interesting thing that none of these things are a problem in their in house dining. When you eat at the restaurant, you feel as if they are glad to have you. It is a different restaurant when you order curbside. They appear so chintzy. The one star rating is for Solo Bella's pick up service - not the restaurant. read more

My husband had Chicken Parmagiani that was over cooked, tough, he left most of it. I ordered Eggplant Rolatini. It was terrible, thick slices, over breaded and dry. After an all day visit to Six Flags with three teenage boys whose goal was to ride every coaster at least once, I wanted to reward us, okay especially me, with a decent meal before hitting the road for home. Yelp pointed me to Solo Bella and it was as good as advertised. A family run, authentic Italian pizzeria and restaurant just a few minutes away from the park. While we had a couple of their outstanding thin crust brick oven pizzas and shared a salad and calamari, there were a host of traditional Italian dishes and a few specialties that I would love the opportunity to try. The staff was very courteous and conscientious. They allowed us to enjoy a good meal and still getnon the road in good order for the two hour ride home. A great capstone to a fun day. read more

Came here for the first time Sat 1/13/2018. It was crowded but the wait for a table was not bad at all 15-20 mins. Food: Was very good. Large portions and did not leave feeling hungry Decor: The dining area is nicely decorated with murals and mirrors on the walls. My only complaint was the tightness of the tables as they tried to cram in way too many table in a small area. Note: There are two dinig areas and I was only in one. Ordered the Veal Parm platter and it came with one piece of veal that was approx. 2 inches by 5 inches for $16. It did come with a pound of penne. Full disclosure: I have gone in the past, gotten the pork Chank "special" and had no complaints, woulda given 3.5-4 stars on the Osso Bucco. Last visit got a "nice salad"...no dressing? What kinda wild rabbit you take me for?? I mean you don't have to go Olive Garden on me, but your salad is not good enough for shredded cheese to substitute for dressing. I ask for dressing and get a cup of oil and vinegar. Nice try, but How in the hell you supposed to pour this cup on a salad with no lid to shake and mix? So I had a salad with shredded cheese, in a pool of oil and a couple red wine vinegar bubbles if I could catch em. You can't catch them BUBBLES??! Penne vodka was sweet as hell, (usually a go-to). I think it was Chicken Rollantine I got, wife said she had much better and I said "is it supposed to taste like poorly seasoned chicken with a sprinkle of bread crumbs?" If it is...u NAILED it..and I apologize, see I'm reasonable! Bread was good, like always but food below average. Oh the 4.50% charge for CC use?? Heard many good reviews from others who ate here so my daughter and I went midweek. Weekends you can wait a long time as no reservations for small parties. Place has large parking lot, dining room and outside dining with view of parking lot. Food makes up for lack of view. We had calamari with marinara which tasted the way i like not sweet but with chunks of tomato fresh sauce. The fettucini alfredo was wonderful creamy not thin sauce like others this was right texture not gritty either. I enjoyed the linguini with clam Sauce although flavor could be more robust. They make their own breadsticks and the desserts Looked good but we were to full to try them next time read more

Went with a group of 13 for dinner last night. Service was awful. The waitress kept disappearing. I guess she figured she was getting an automatic 18% tip anyway. Pasta portions were generous. I had the shrimp scampi. It was tasteless. Eggplant rollatini was tasty though the sauce was acidic. The stuffed mushrooms were good. They were made with ricotta instead of the usual breadcrumbs. Olive tapanede served with a seasoned bread for dipping. My friend had the chicken parmigiana with fusilli special. Big portion. Pasta served al dente. Let me start off by saying the bread here is EXCELLENT. However, the wait staff was sub par. Two females in particular were very rude to our group. When our party told the one waitress we would be ordering family style, she looked at us and said "Seriously?" We were taken back, but let it roll off our shoulders. As the night continued on, more rude comments came. Our party was disappointed, especially because we were here to celebrate an engagement, which we expressed to the wait staff upon arrival. I'm not very familiar with the selection of Italian food in Jackson but for the drive I made to get here, I was not impressed. The first batch of bread we got was charred and just not good. The second was great however but it shouldn't have had to come to that. Salad sizes are generous- definitely enough for 2-3 people but even the dressing on their signature salad wasn't impressive. The stuffed artichoke was vegetarian and pretty tasty. The fettuccine I got was a bit too runny and just didn't have that rich alfredo taste. The portion sizes are huge but I would have preferred quality over quantity. My alfredo was way too runny. Overall, nothing was actually spectacular that would draw me back in. The service was pretty good tho I have to admit and the order came out accurate. Overall, I would pass on this unless you have limited options. read more

So went early on a Saturday night with all this Corona virus craziness going on. Have friends that live in the area who suggested to come here with them. Sat around 6:35 ordered apps and our meals shortly after. Took almost a full hour for our apps to come out. The waiter kept coming out saying I'm sorry I'm sorry they had a lot of take out orders coming through in between. First of all take care of your customers who are tipping 20% gratuity for the service not the people staying home not tipping. Food came out everything tasted fine. But the bill has nothing off, I went to the waiter after the bill came out and said hey listen I don't ask for much but we waited a long time for the apps maybe can Comp one or two. He said I will ask my manager ... comes back 5 mins later and days MY MANAGER said no can't take anything off. Are you kidding me? Lmao will never come back. Next time Mr. Manager come out and say you can't take anything off yourself you are a spineless fool. 2 stars because food was decent. Ordered food over an hour ago. Came to pick it up. Waited half hour in the car. Called from the car and placed on hold another 15 minutes. So I donned a mask and walked in and asked how long. Clearly the young staff were stressed out and knew that our take out order was not even started. I asked the girl at the front if I could speak to a manager and was told he's cooking in the back and won't come talk to you. The young man running back and forth with orders said he didn't have good news it would be another half hour. We asked for our money back. Wont ever go there again. I really want to love this place for dining in, but they make it impossible. The food there is very good, but the atmosphere, wait staff and accommodations are always lacking. Went there today for a nice Sunday afternoon dinner, and it is my anniversary. They had two private parties, and as a result seated walk in patrons in the very narrow area in front of the deli counter. We were lucky enough to get a table in the large dining room as a bridal shower was wrapping up. The patrons for the bridal shower left the door to the outside patio wide open as the took gifts outside - no problem, I get that. But they left the door propped wide open going on a half hour even though they were no longer going in and out. It is 45 degrees out! I could put my coat on, but our entrees were cold within minutes of being placed on the table. I asked a server if the door could be shut, and our server came back and said " No, I can't ask them that, they have a ton of gifts". I asked for our less than half eaten meal to be wrapped up, because it was just too cold to enjoy. An apology was offered by the server. We were there three weeks ago sitting in the same dining room on St. Patricks Day as the wait staff went in and out of that same door during our entire meal. Great early supper! The clams oreganata were tiny, but the sauce was delish. Pizza was great, salad was fresh and tasty. The bread and olive oil with olives was AMAZING. I got the short rib ravioli and was extremely happy (& FULL!!) The kids got a burger that was huge (good enough said my 21 year old) and my youngest and his girl split a portion of rigatoni and vodka sauce with chicken... there was a full meal that left with us! The tiramisu cake was good too. They were out of the regular tiramisu. Felicia was attentive, funny and accommodating. Will be back again next time we're in the area! read more

Talk about trying to "steal money" from your customers. This week, my friend and I ordered food for pick up. The bill was extremely high for what we ordered. What I found out was that SOLO BELLA is now charging a "fee' that is tacked on for each item. This is so ridiculous. There is not another restaurant, and I've called many, who are doing this. This is not a way to make up for lost business during COVID. THIS IS A WAY TO PISS OFF your customers. For me, and my friends, we will NEVER go back there again. Also, since I live in a large community in Jackson, I will be sure that everyone knows what happened to me. I've been here before but not in a long while. I've only ever dined in once before, this being the second time. My guest and I arrived for lunch on a Thursday and the restaurant was completely empty. We were seated in a far back corner (I felt bad for the waiter that he had to walk so far each time). We brought wine. I ordered stuffed rigatoni bolognese and my guest got the baked ziti. The food was ok but not great. The preparation and plating is very basic and looks like something I could easily have make at home. The baked ziti was no more than loose ziti topped with sauce and a bit of mozzarella and appeared to be placed under a salamander to melt. Not really how I know baked ziti to be. My pasta was a bit overcooked and drowned in sauce but otherwise good. I did have to pick out a few large pieces of bay leaf that I couldn't chew which was awkward. There was plenty of parking this time and it appears they have you enter from the back now verse the front of the building. Service was average. Prices for the quality of food you get are a little high in my opinion, especially for the area. Overall, this recent experience was nothing special. read more
