I moved to Connecticut about 6 months ago and after two years of getting my Masters and a whole lot of sitting around, I knew I had to do something! I like nearby The Pilates Centre, read some reviews, and saw that they offered a free intro class. I had never done Pilates before (used to do Yoga quite a bit), but really wanted to try something new. Even though I felt intimidated by what I saw others doing and the machines in the room, I felt welcomed in and supported. After the trial session, I signed up for a 10 pack and haven't looked back. I am nearing session #22 with the owner, Jen, and have already seen changes in my body. I am sold on Pilates and will be remaining a loyal customer of The Pilates Centre. I always feel confident that Jen really knows what she is doing and is supportive of whatever stage I am in with my fitness. She has been incredibly motivational with getting my fitness back on track. I haven't tried any of the classes yet, but once I feel more confident I could see myself mixing class sessions in with the personal sessions. Went to cancel membership and they charged me for another 6 weeks when there are 0 classes available. When the lack of class availability is raised, management gets defensive and doesn't care. Spoke with other nearby businesses (some CP, some different studios) and they said this is a known issue with this owner. They oversell subscriptions and underhire teachers / classes to maximize their profits. Surprising that this type of business practice is legal. Don't be like me and make a stupid decision to try this place. Go elsewhere.
