I had one 6" and one 2" crack left and right of the range caused by heat damage. It was a pricey repair of $695 but the job was well done by Mirko , the owner, and it looks great at present. Look at YouTube videos to see how repair is done. You need to have some scrap from your original Corian surface. It took about 3+ hours to complete, which included 1 hour for the Corian adhesive to dry before sanding can be done. Mirko also made some good suggestions to avoid cracks in the future. I would use him again. He was very nice to work with. read more

Mirko was amazing! He gave me an estimate over the phone, I understood if the job. was different than I explained it could be more. Fortunately I explained the issue well. He came on time, I am approximately 1.5 hours from him, and was very professional. I had researched what would need to be done prior to his arrival and he did everything, and more. We needed the edge of our Corian countertop trimmed and since this was a small job, I realized it might be difficult to find someone to do it. Mirko came through for us in flying colors! He responded promptly to my request for information, and was able to come over within just a few days of the initial contact. When Mirko arrived, he quoted a very high price ($595) for our 15 year old corian countertop, this considering he said on the telephone it would be about $395. "It's a very big countertop" he said. He said it would take about 5 hours, while that's a lot per hour, we agreed (dumb us). He finished in 4 hours -- of which 1 hour sitting in his truck, about 1 hour talking a lot to us, so about 2 hours work. We should never have agreed to the price (that's on us), live and learn I guess. No complaints about his work, the counter looks great. read more

Very unprofessional with sexual comments and asked too much personal information about myself. I'm not sure if he always stays too long, but he did in my case. We've had our Corian countertops in our kitchen for over 20 years-- and it showed. We had knife marks from people doing food preparation on the countertop, burn marks from a project gone terribly wrong on the stovetop, a huge crack from someone deciding to stand on the counter, and a myriad of scratches from the surface doubling as a gardening shed. Mirko was able to polish the surfaces-- removing the scratches, burn marks, and crack... really a great job. He showed up on time, completed the work quickly and efficiently, and charged what I thought was a reasonable price. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again ( though hopefully I won't need too!), and highly recommend him for anyone with Corian surfaces. read more

I had a long crack (2 ft) and 2 burn marks on my corian countertop. Mirko came and gave me an estimate of $675 for a 3 hours work. He did fill the crack but left a black mark (about 1.5 in long) along the old crack. So, it's still noticeable. Also, he tried to polish the area of the burn marks that are now less noticeable than before but did not completely go away. Overall, I think his work was somewhat a little about average for the high price he charged. I would get a second opinion before hiring him for the job. read more

I called Mirko after noticing 2 small cracks in the Corian by the cooktop. He quoted $395 over the phone. He came recommended by a Corian company in Montclair, Heartwood Countertops and Corian. They said he has made thousands of repairs over the years. He arrived on time, made the repair, and offered advice for the care of the Corian. Excellent job, I cannot even tell where the repair was made. He was here about 3 hrs. and 45 mins. doing the repair. He cuts out the damage and makes an exact replacement to cement in place. He has down time of an hour to allow the repair to cure. He then sands smooth and buffs to perfection. Well worth it for me and the wife. read more

Mirko Babic not only repairs Corian and other solid surfaces, he fabricates entirely new objects. For my wife and me, he built a new counter top surface for a separate lower kitchen cabinet. He fabricated it out of a Corian slab left from our kitchen sink cut-out. Our slab was not quite large enough, so we would have been short a drop-down on the left side of the cabinet. Mirko, however, obtained a matching piece so he could give us the cabinet top we really wanted. Our Corian pattern had been discontinued, so it was fantastic that he found the perfect match! Our kitchen was remodeled 12 years ago with all Corian countertops. A few years ago, a slight separation occurred in an area of countertop where I often used an electric skillet. I hadn't realized that heat from the appliance could have that effect. I called a number of contractors with no luck finding someone to work on Corian. Finally, we got a referral to Solid Top Repair. We talked to Mirko on the phone and sent him a cell phone photo of the damage as he requested. He and his helper were out the following day, at the scheduled time, and did a beautiful job with the repair and refinish. All the tiny, unavoidable scratches were buffed out. and the separation made undetectable. They left the job clean and tolerated our curious dog with good humor.
