I went into sole dimensions and they knew right away that is was plantar fasciitis and helped me find the perfect pair of shoes that completely helped subside all pain in both of my feet. I went in today to get a great quality supportive walking shoe for an ankle/foot brace I have to wear for 6 months to heal some tendon issues. My boyfriend also tagged along because he is a mail carrier who deals with quite a bit of foot pain from walking 6-7 miles a day. I told him he should have them look at his gait, etc. and see if their supports are better than the cheapy insoles he buys. I left with a great new pair of Brooks and he also got a pair of black New Balance he can wear to work, as well as some supports. He expressed concern about the fact that his toe pops through the mesh of sneakers within a week and they told him they offer a service where they add a layer of material where your toes comes up to prevent the hole - which sold him on the shoe. He did have to leave them there for a day or so to do that work and we will have to go back and pick up, which is fine. Prices were very reasonable for the shoes you are getting and the customer service was top notch. They were VERY patient with us - especially me - it took a lot of time to take insoles in and out of shoes to pop my brace in and they were starting to accumulate a crowd that needed help, but I never felt rushed, which I really, really appreciated. read more

After seeking new sneakers that would work with my new custom orthotics at a New Balance store and getting bad information and virtually no help...they didn't even seem interested that I was there, and there were no other customers... we decided to try this store. It was random luck, but the vibe was immediately different. They really wanted to help me, let's just start there. Then I got to know the person helping me, Ellie Penner, the certified Pedorthist that was measuring my feet. She understood everything I was saying to her about my life of foot pain and was willing to try different things, like metatarsal pads added to my custom orthotics. She integrated the cushioning I was using so the 3/4 orthotic didn't allow my foot to rub against the stitching in the shoe into one easy to use insert that included the metatarsal pad and a specially cut U-shaped callous pad. I came back later for more adjustments and she helped me with that without charging more. She was friendly, patient, and really seemed to care, and most of all, knowledgeable. Unlike the people at Good Feet (don't go there!) her friendliness and interest was genuine, not just a sales pitch. The other sales woman chatted with me like we were old friends while I waited for Ellie to make the adjustment to my orthotic. It was a miracle to me that I found her and now I understand that when you have chronic foot pain, you not only need a pediatrist, you also need a pedorthist to make the orthotic actually work for you in real life. I had never heard of this practice, but apparently, it is a whole medical path in Canada. I can now walk or stand for hours at a time, something that was unthinkable for the past 15 years. The people here know their stuff! I went to get good running shoes today and did I ever. Great feel and support also getting orthotic insoles Friday. No more heel or knee pain for me. Now the shoes are a little more expensive but so worth it if your a walker or runner. My pair were $119.95. They have all kinds of stuff besides shoes too! Absolutely the best shoe shopping experience ever - and I have had a gazillion shoe shopping experiences in my life. I have a metatarsal problem that I have been wrestling with for years. The way it has been managed was to get orthotics to address the need. While that has been helpful, Ellie assessed my gate and observed how I pronate and that may have been a causative factor. I have had 3 back surgeries and have subtle weakness in my right leg. She was absolutely right and I have no idea how I didn't put it all together. I was fitted for perfect shoes that support my feet in a much better way. With my orthotic and that, I am set to go to train for a half-marathon. I am very grateful. I am a RN and I usually can figure things out. However, I needed Ellie to point me in the right direction. I have absolutely no financial or otherwise relationship with the store.
