I have been thinking about solar for years and in other homes I have owned. I even looked into it a few times. I had begun looking again when I was approached through Costco about going Solar. Solartime installed my system in December 2019, right before the tax credit went down from 30% to 26%. I spoke to Martyna and she was very helpful throughout the process. We were very skeptical from the beginning and it took us some time to make the final decision, but Martina never pushed just provided us with information, and calculations showing how much we will save and when. We are financing our system, and our monthly payment is slightly lower than our bill, so we are already saving a few dollars a month, but my wife is glad she wont have to worry about new oncor contracts that we will have to look for to avoid increasing cost every year. Last reliant contract we were with increased from 12 to 14 cents... the installation was smooth, Greg was the team lead during the day, and he is just so personable! He had to come back the next day to finish setting up my monitoring and solar sense and we really had amazing conversations. it was just like dealing with normal everyday people, which is what we are looking for with my wife working in sales our whole life. It's officially been 1 year since I had my solar panels installed. The initial install was a little rocky because the company was so busy with installs. But through it all the folks at Solartime were wonderful. I get excited to receive my energy bill every month so I can see how much I DON'T owe. It's great! What has impressed me the most though, is that this past month when I changed my internet in my home, I completely forgot about the solar needing to have internet access. Within 2 days of the internet change, I received a call from SolarTime asking if everything was OK and letting me know they could no longer monitor my system. WOW! I know they told me they would constantly be monitoring it, but to have them make good on that promise blew me away. Not only that, but one of their employees came out to help me reconnect the solar to the internet since I couldn't remember how to do it myself. That is outstanding Customer Service right there. Solartime installed a 17 kW ground-mount system on my property. I have 1 acre and we thought it would be the best idea to use the land and put the panels there, rather than the roof. My electricity company is Farmers Electric so they are my only choice here in Wylie, so we decided to produce majority of my energy usage on my own. Solartime staff has been delightful to work with. My consultant Martina was very sweet and knowledgeable. She did not push or try to sell my like other sales representative I interviewed did. Permitting was very easy and smooth. After i signed my contract with them, it took about 3-4 weeks to get my system up and producing. My latest bills with FEC were May negative $8, June negative $13. I felt taken care off through the whole process, the office, especially Cathy kept me updated! They still check on me on a regular basis and we keep in touch as friends! Solartime has been awesome! Greg and his guys installed 29 solar panels, each one is 385 watts. My system is 11.16 kW. This is plenty to cover my whole bill and even a bit more. The consultant helped me design a system that will allow my in-laws to lower the air to 74 in summer from 79! So they are so excited, and so am I. One of the primary reasons for our family to do it was the tax credit, which we got in full the first year. We did pay cash so that was a nice money in last June! HAHA! We really enjoyed working with Solartime, and they even come as far as sending us cards and checking on us and our system on a monthly basis. My wife was hesitant due to the " cost" but after the rep explained how we are already spending the money it was a no-brainer. SolarTime will do a switch and bait on you. I had received a proposal from them to get the top of the line black panels at the last minute they tried to switch me over to these ugly, cheap looking panels and tried to charge me the same amount. I would never trust them to do any work at my house. I ended up going with another solar company that gave me excellent customer service, beautiful install with premium panels.
