I scheduled service and was told someone would call thirty minutes before tech. No time window, just a day. I contacted them at noon to confirm still scheduled and was told early to mid afternoon. At 5pm I was told the tech was an hour out. The tech arrived and confirmed that the blower was out and would have to be ordered. The tech then went into upsell mode and from wanting to estimate for more insulation to complete duct replacement. Three year old system and multiple techs from this same company having either installed or repaired and now this tech is recommending complete duct replacement as my family sits in mid 80 heat waiting for ac to be repaired. This tech says that the old techs from Lyons "don't know as much as he does" and that is why they never recommended the upgrade. I purchased from Lyons because of the great reputation at the time. In my opinion, this is not the same company and the customer service had taken a back seat to upselling.

They pump up the estimate and try and convince you that maybe you shouldn't invest in the older unit. This wasn't a difficult issue, bad outdoor fan motor. Told me the unit was so old they might not be able to get a replacement (that was false). Then it was, we can get it but it costs $800 (also false) and add labor and maybe a new blade. Seemed outrageous for a pretty simple motor. Told them I had to think about it. Tech said had to charge me for the diagnostic call but if I would authorize the repair right now he would waive the fee. I said no thanks. Went inside and found I could get the motor delivered to me for less than $300 delivered. Found another company that repaired it for less than 1/2 that had been quoted to me.

During the visit I asked the tech Keith if he needed to open up the unit to inspect the AC/Heat. He stated that it probably didn't need it if I kept my air filters clean and changed out regularly. I then also paid additionally to have customer provided back up drain pans replaced. Now today when I am using the heater for the first time since the service visit the unit is not providing warm air. When I called Air Performance today to state the issue along with my concerns, I was told that I would be required to pay another service visit fee. I stated that I do not feel the HVAC inspection on the 11/19 service call was ever performed and that I should not be required to pay another fee for service I already paid for that was not performed. I was told that was the only thing they were willing to do and that I cannot prove that the inspection was not performed. I then stated that I do not feel this is the right way to treat a customer in this situation and gave every opportunity for your company to make it right. I asked the woman on the phone to ask Keith if he performed the inspection and she stated he was not there. I asked to speak with the Manager and she stated he wasn't available. I asked her to call Keith to ask him about the services performed or not performed. I asked for the Manager to call me so we can have this resolved immediately. I am currently awaiting follow up communication on how this can be resolved satisfactorily. It is very cold right now and me and my family should not have to suffer because a company has refused so far to make it right without sticking me with duplicate costs. I will be exploring all legal remedies afforded to consumers, especially with the current freezing temperatures and the health and safety hazard that this unresolved situation has presented.
