We had regular faux wood blinds on both windows prior, but were never fully satisfied with them. They didn't cover the full window, but they were the best we could afford at the time. After perusing reviews on Yelp we decided to give JR a call and he came out to the house. We were a little surprised that he only had one sample to show us. He only uses the Norman Blinds, and they don't have the traditional vertical bar that enables opening and closing. We really liked JR, though, and decided to go with the Norman Blinds, even though they were a little different from what we had been expecting. One cool thing about the Normans is that you can close the bottom 1/3rd portion of the blinds while leaving the top open, which is nice when you want some light but don't want people outside to see in. We also have two very skinny windows which border the sides of our front door. Very creepy to have people look in the windows at you (and they do!). We ended up ordering shutters for those as well. It took a couple months for the blinds to come in, but the guys who came to install them did a fantastic job. They even wore foot booties so as not to dirty my white carpet. They were very nice and respectful. Once up, the shutters looked awesome. We love them. I love being able to close them tightly at night and love how dark the bedroom stays in the mornings. It actually is much nicer *not* having a vertical bar running up the blinds that obstructs our view. I plan to eventually have some of our other windows done as well, as soon as it's in the budget. Our experience with JR and Classic Shutters was a very good one.

We called Tami after receiving a flyer in the mail. She quickly arranged to visit our home and…read morediscuss options. We live in a 44-year old house which had some of the original draperies still hanging. She gave us some sound advice about what would work best with our limited budget. After sending us a quote with a great discount (we had all draperies removed and replaced), we had to wait a few weeks for the order to arrive and set up installation. The blinds were just as she showed us when she made her first visit and are wonderful! They have made our entire home more open looking and brighter and are a welcome change. There were a few problems which required two more install techs to come back and fine-tune the installation of vertical blinds. This was done quickly and the final result is to everyone's satisfaction. The only other thing I would like to mention is that the old draperies were not taken away from our house and had to be disposed of ourselves, but this was agreed to in the service contract we signed off on. If you can manage to haul your old window coverings away or have your city waste people remove them, it will save you money over paying for this service along with the blind installation. Overall, we are very pleased with the final result. It would have cost us a lot more to replace old window coverings with new draperies and this would have taken MUCH longer than the three weeks it did for our home to be updated and refreshed. This company is a good one to do business with and our purchase is protected by a warranty, so we have no obvious outstanding concerns which could not be resolved by calling Tami and waiting for a fix. She was proactive throughout the process and I recommend her to anyone living in the Plano and Frisco areas shopping for modern window treatments.
