Sadly there is no loyalty for long time customers... I have been member a long time... never missing a payment. My card was stolen and bank sent new card as they should. Busy with my mom dying, I forgot to call them to give my new card. They called me 3 weeks later to tell me I had a $10 late fee now. I explained the situation asking to avoid the fee. There was no grace or ability to remove the fee they say. It is better to lose a long time loyal customer for $10. Keep customer $740/ year or lose customer and make $10. Crazy. read more

I got a sunless airbrush tan and it looks amazing! The technician was so sweet and helpful and did an AMAZING job! I definitely recommend this place. Everyone was very helpful and welcoming. The old reviews from people definitely do not apply anymore. read more

Pros: clean, high quality beds, good location Cons: they try to sell you something extra EVERY TIME you come in. After spending $150 on a tanning package I dont want to be asked about at least 3 other things to purchase every time I come in. So wish I had looked at these bad reviews of this store before i gave them my business. Long story short-today I cancelled a membership that I don't remember signing than had been taking $67 out of my account for 8 months (and which I didn't use one single time). Today is March 2 and they will continue to take money from me for this month and next month. The "girl" --and I use that term deliberately--because she was ridiculous and rude, when questioned about the April charge, kept interrupting me. Finally I said "are you going to let me finish my sentence?" And she replied "absolutely not" and that if I didn't stop expressing my disappointment with their business model, she would call the police. Lovely. Seriously. Worst customer service ever! I joined up with them last February and was able to use them quite often at that time. I bought a expensive package a body wraps and had one left that I was told I have to the end of February to use. Unfortunately life happens and due to my mother-in-law's illness I was not able to go for 4 months although I still was paying my $55 a month monthly dues. I knew I had to use my last wrap by the end of the month so I went in there on Monday which was the 26th of February. I was told I had no body wraps left to use. When the girls behind the counter checked they said they expired 2 days ago and I said I don't understand that as I was told I had to the end of February to use them and it was not yet the end of February. As they were being so uncooperative I told them fine just cancel my membership I wanted the corporates number to complain. They told me they didn't know the corporates number which I found a bit odd but I said I needed someone to call me with it please. A bit later the salon manager Jane called me. Long story short she offered to reinstate my last body wrap session if I would reinstate my membership for another year as I had canceled my membership. I explained to her that this point I didn't know if I wanted to sign up again due to this customer service I received. I asked her to reinstate my last body wrap and I would give it some thought to it which she refused. Either I could sign up again or I can not have my last body wrap. I ask Jane why they were refusing me to begin with as I was told that I had till the end of February to use it. She said yes it did expired at the end of the month to which I replied but Jane it is only the 26th and the end of the month is the 28th. She then said it was based on how many days it was before you purchase the package so basically I was told two different things by the same woman. At that point I was done. I politely told her I would think it over and get back to her. But of course after such service I had no desire to sign back up to give these people another $700 for the full year and basically have that kind of customer service. I'm heading back to Sun Tan City where I had been at for 7 years prior to trying Solarium. They have wonderful customer service and much friendlier employees. read more

Watch out for all the upselling!!!! We bought a package that we expected to use the next two years before Spring Vacation. Unfortunately they did not make it clear that your tans run out after a year which my did before I could use them the second year. As they ran me through the options, they wanted me to buy an after-tan product for $40 to recover my non-used tans of which I do not have any use for. Overall, the different tan options they provide are confusing and geared to tricking you into paying more than you should for a tan! read more

AVOID this salon at all costs. We have been going here on and off for 3 years but we went in yesterday after buying a facebook special tan. We were told we needed to use the whole 12 minutes at that time (we cant, we would be beet red). Apparently the policy changed last october but unfortunately Solarium never communicated that on the phone when we bought the "12 minutes on level 3" from the employee and it is not stated on the facebook post advertising the special. We have purchased these for 2-3 years with no issues until now. We asked to speak to a manager who was incredibly rude, never apologized and had no respect for us as loyal, longtime customers. She basically said we were out of luck and made no attempt at reconciliation. I tried to give them a second chance and spoke to another employee later that night on the phone, asking for a callback from another manager. I was told I would get a call today and here it is 6pm with nothing. read more

I canceled my tanning membership in April and am STILL having monthly withdrawals taken from my bank account!! Yet this poorly ran company refuses to refund me or let me speak to management. 4 phone calls and 2 weeks later... the location I signed up for still says I cannot speak to management or get a refund because they are now "allowed". Please start hiring real employees instead of running a daycare facility...... what a joke!!!!!! I will be contacting the BBB, filing a dispute with my credit card and informing everyone I possibly can to not deal with this business. I was told on the phone the Reggio always office doesn't give their number out, managers don't call back and the employee told me on the phone that a lot of people are angry and waiting for calls back. I love their tanning beds..very clean and bulbs are up to date. Their spray tans are a natural color and work well for cocktail events, vacations or other events. Friendly and helpful staff and great prices read more

This place is a joke...most of the customers who come in here tan level 3. And they only have 3 level 3 beds....so you have to wait all the time. Hey how about get rid of the level 1 beds and buy more level 3!! I get the level 1 are cheaper, but in Olathe where the median income is a lot higher, customer will pay a higher price for better quality. When my minutes are up here, I'm taking my business elsewhere. I do not recommend this place. read more

I have always had a positive experience tanning at Solarium: The staff always greets me when I come in. I always get a bed quickly; I think the most I've ever waited is 3 to 5 minutes. The rooms and, more importantly beds, are always clean. The prices are competitive and I'm glad I don't have to buy in to a membership to tan. I usually get pretty excited when they have package sales. Back when I first started tanning, I wasn't consistent in going and thought my minutes wouldn't expire. Well, they did and I was upset but I spoke with the manager and I did get those minutes back. Love that and made me loyal to them! And when I'm done with my session, I always have someone thank me and wish me a good day...politeness and manners always works! read more

It's a nice tanning salon for a decent price however the customer service sucks. I've been tanning there for over a year and a half and have yet to have an employee remember my name. I went to get a spray tan tonight (actually I've been waiting for 30 minutes and counting) and the reason for the wait is because she didn't want to open up both spray booths. There's even someone waiting behind me. So she'd rather let us wait over an hour to get a spray tan than clean the booth and let 2 people go at once? It doesn't make sense. I pay over $100 per month and it's not so the employee can let me tan when it's convenient it's so I am able to tan when I come in. read more

They will continue to charge you after your contract is over! They blocked me on Facebook when I raised concern and warned others on it. My daughter had an appointment for a spray tan this week. One of their machines was broken and they said they were a little bit behind. When I asked how long it would be, they said just a "few" minutes. After waiting for 1 1/2 hours, she finally got her spray tan. No apologies or acknowledgment that we had been waiting so long. If it hadn't been prom the next day, we would have left. The tan looked nice, but customer service was definitely lacking. read more

What a horrible customer experience my wife had at this location. She called and scheduled an appointment for @ 10pm 4/19/18 for a spray tan. When she arrived at this location the lady's working said she never called and made an appointment. They were beyond rude. Refused to give any help whatsoever. I'm a business owner and if my employees treated a customer in the way she was (not being bias at all just thinking like a retail business owner) they would no longer have a job. I really love this location and Solarium in general. The beds and salon are always super clean, the ownership and staff are friendly and I hardly ever have to wait when I come in. I haven't taken advantage of the spa services yet but the fact that they have so much to offer is truly unique (unlike other tanning salons). The best part is that my self esteem has gone up since tanning again and I look toward to "me time." read more

Bought a 6mo subscription for the red light therapy bed. Probably used it twice! At the end of the subscription I called to cancel (it automatically continues to bill otherwise). The girl takes my information, puts me on hold, then returns saying it's taken care of. The next month they charge me again. I call and now the girl says I have to come in to cancel! :/ So then when I go in to cancel, the girl says I will be charged 2 more months because of timing! It didn't take 2 months to sign up. ..why 2 months to cancel a subscription that ended over a month ago!? Both times she took my number for a manager to contact me but I have never received a call. Bad business practices! Poor Customer service! I should have known better...but now you do! read more

This a great salon! The staff is incredibly nice and helpful. The facility has a great atmosphere and is really clean. I did the bodywrap and lost 5.5lbs in one hour. The body wrap is great for athletes looking to cut water weight fast. Perfect for fighters, grapplers, wrestlers, or other weight-class based athletes. I've also done the Cocoon which was super relaxing. The red light is fun to check out as well. read more

BEWARE! High pressure sales every time you walk through the door! Why can't I just walk in, get assigned to a bed, and walk out?? I asked them to place a note in my file to not talk to me about specials. It's never quick. They said they couldn't do that. I told them I was going to give them my spiel ever time I walk through the door and tell them "I'm not interested in hearing about the special today" and they said that's fine. I told them since they consider to harass me each time I will take it under careful consideration when renewal time is up. I don't think they were able to comprehend the comment. The next time I went I told them I wasn't interested in the special. Really, how can it be a special when they have specials daily? Warning, this alone should tell you to never pay for something that isn't on sale at Solarium! The attendant proceeded to tell me about the special anyway. Hello, anyone home??? The next time I went in it was the same attendant. I told her again I wasn't interested in their specials. I mean, they have the information posted all over the place! She said, "I know you're not interested in hearing about our specials and you probably saw it on the door, but . . . " and proceeded to tell me about the special. This is flat out disrespect or ignorance and I don't believe the attendant is ignorant; she's just pushy and probably because of the owner. They push, push, push to upsell services and products. Are they hurting financially? All lotions by the same manufacturers can be purchased online at a greater discount. On another note I did have an appt for a spray tan during working hours. Apparently one of the machines broke (another reviewer mentioned the same thing) and they didn't bother to tell me what was going on; only it will be a few minutes. The few minutes each time I checked turned in to a one hour wait. I certainly won't be renewing at this place. There is too much competition with competitive pricing and other places that don't try to cram products and more premium services down your throat every time you walk through the door. read more

I have to admit, the older, now closed down, location in Gardner, KS was nothing short of lacking in all areas. This location however is wonderful! I have been going here about a year or so now, and am always greeted with smiling faces and a welcoming tone. Sometimes they are quite busy, and I have to wait anywhere from 10-15 minutes for a level 3 tanning bed, which is understandable because it is a popular choice and they have a limited supply of that style of bed. The rooms, and most importantly, the beds, are always clean and sanitized.. and they smell nice too! The tan is always even, the beds are relaxing, and I hardly ever get burnt, considering I am quite fair skinned without any tanning. When I leave the salon, I am sent off with a "have a great day" or "hope to see you again soon", which is always a nice touch. I am a fan of this particular Solarium location and will continue to visit here! read more
