I wish I could give this place a 0. I was a member since 2008. - but it is so trashy now. This is the WORST costumer service tanning salon. It's an absolute joke. I cancelled more than a month ago and was told I had to cancel 2 weeks before a payment cycle so that needed to pay for another month and had until Nov 15 to tan. I didn't go back bc they're a mess and it takes 30 min to get through a line bc they are such aggressive sales people about their products... which we can buy on Amazon cheaper. Low and behold im charged again in November. Yes I have all my cancellation paperwork. However the poor little young girl working had no way to get in touch with her manager - she said "she might be back next week".... Uh no. She needs to call me back today. First let me say that this review is all about the product and nothing about the people. They were really great. I wish I could remember the cute, bubbly girl who helped me. She should go into sales, she was freaking awesome. She had me believing everything! Except it was all a ruse (not by here, I'm sure she believed in what she was selling). First, they aren't shy about telling you that they use VersaSpa, but not the product. They claim that what they use now is organic and amazing and your tan lasts forever and ever and...wrong. First, I do believe those machines are owned by Versa and you can't use whatever product you want, but I don't think anyone told them. At any rate when I heard they used their own spray I should have stopped. I used their best lay down bed first then I spray tanned. This all cost me around $80 if I'm not mistaken (and I am not far off, it was THAT MUCH). I walked out and the next day had no color, no tan and they took my money for that! I was so pissed off. I mean, I don't normally get mad about stuff like that because generally I get SOMETHING for spending that kind of money. Not here. It was such a blatant ripoff that I still can't believe it. If you don't read another review read this one, it is not worth the money, they do not deliver a good product and you will not get your money's worth. Seriously, you've been warned. Three and a half stars. Apparently Solarium has taken over all the At The Beach locations. You've probably seen their commercials with the hilarious jingle in the background. It came across my TV so many times I decided to try them out in order to disguise myself as a native West-Coaster for my upcoming trip to LA (Yessssssss). If you're a new member, you can get an unlimited month for $24.99--pretty awesome deal. There's a huge lotion selection and all lotions can be used outdoors as well. The girl helping me during my initial trip there was super friendly but was the only employee I saw while I was there--and she got kind of swamped with the line of people coming in and tons of phone calls. Someone help a gal out! Other employee experience has been up and down. All in all I've been pretty satisfied. And I know it's not the healthiest thing but yeah. It's places like this that make me realize I've actually moved from Smalltown, Nowhere. WOW, Solarium. First of all, the girl behind the desk was really friendly. Immediately looking at her, I sort of forgot I haven't been in high school in longer than I'd like to admit, and just expected she wouldn't be nice to me. You know? I'm a brunette, whatever. She was extremely nice, though, and she walked me through all this fancy crap bigger cities apparently have to do at tanning salons. For example, I've never had to give my driver's license number. I've also never paid anything over $7 for a single session, so HELLO, Kansas! (I have no idea if it's Kansas making it more expensive.) Immediately when I left this place, I called ALL of my friends I used to tan with and talked endlessly about how FANCY this place is (mostly to make them jealous or consider moving). ... The bed talks to you. Am I the only one blown away by that? Also, on the Level 3 bed, the lights are SQUARE. SQUARE!!(?) They should join up with Wendy's (which happens to be across the street from this location) and start a campaign for conventionally round objects turned SQUARE. "Do you hate geometry? Who gives a fuck! Eat a square burger while you lay under SQUARE LIGHTS!" I'm way too excited about this. Solarium rocked my entire world (I am a really cheap date). The prices shocked me, but I hear they're competitive because you go in less? I can't vouch for that yet, but I will say this place just dazzled the crap out of me and the service was top-freaking-notch. I will definitely be back. read more

I am very upset by my experience yesterday. I had signed up for a 12 month level one membership and I switched to a spray tan membership in December since I am pregnant. I am now due in 3 weeks and have been asking multiple times over my last visits (since April) to verify that my membership was up in June, last payment due in May. I was told that "Yes, you are done in May." I even told the girl at the front desk that I am due in July and will not need to tan after June which is why I was wanting to make sure it was up soon. At the time, nothing was mentioned about me coming in to cancel 30 days before I wanted my last draft to be taken out. If I asked in April she could have had me sign the paper in April! I am sure they told me this was the policy when I signed up, but come on that was 12 months ago! I was charged again in June so I went into the salon yesterday to cancel and now I have to pay for July too. The gal at the front desk kept telling me that I could tan until August 15th, like that was going to make things better. I don't want to spray tan until August, I am having a baby in 3 weeks!! That is why I kept asking to verify that my membership was up for the last three months! I asked the girl if I could speak to her manager but the manager never came out. I saw the associate talking to her manager but all she said when she came back was that they use a third party company for billing and need a 30 day notice before cancelling. I am so frustrated because I worked with the manager in December when I switched over to a spray tan membership and she was very helpful. I told her that I didn't want to pay the $99 cancellation fee so I would just switch to spray tan. Well, I should have just paid it since I am now having to pay $42 for the next two months and will probably not feel up to using it. So I guess they got what they wanted, my money. read more

I love going to this tanning location. They are excellent in informing customers about products and specials and helping them in what they look to achieve. They always have great deals. Last time I went the employee Madelyne helped me get what I wanted and told me about the deals I didn't know were going on. I also love getting their spray tans they look very natural. I've gotten spray tans from other tanning companies and solariums always looks the best and stays the longest. read more

I would give zero stars if possible, I tanned here one time and cancelled my account they have charged my account for 5 months now. The employees are incompetent. I have called so many times and have talked to multiple employees and they all say they fixed it. I'm going to my bank for unauthorized transactions and they will refund. read more

Nice Place Nice people. They have a GREAT spray tan system! I LOVE it. Just wish the Spray tanning was cheaper since its so much better for you, but as far as spray tan price goes- they are right with everyone else. Plus they do have discounted prices on their spray tan packages sometimes. They level one bed seems really weeks which is a total shame. Stick with the spray tan they have lotions to help make it last longer too. Staff is friendly-semifake at times but hey fake tan fake people! :+) Overall pretty darn ok! read more

The staff at 75th street are the reason I continue to return here; I find a lot of tanning salon staff at other places to be pushy, but it's not like that at Solarium! read more

Then, when I tried to cancel my membership, I was told there would be a $99.00 cancelation fee that I was never told about or agreed to. Just remember if it seems too good to be true.. Ok the girl at front desk is sweetest girl, and so helpful. Absolutely love her. But I did kinda feel uncomfortable my first day. I go in the day before and signed up for the six months. We discuss the eye covers I told her which ones I wanted. I was looking at them,then I put them back. I forgot to take them with me. So the next day I go in for my first session, and I asked if she charged them the day before. She said yes I told her I forgot to grab them. There was a misunderstanding she was gonna charge me another pair. And I was like wait, what??? Nooo I didn't grab them yesterday. So I guess the other lady was management and says what's going on. The girl told her. And management says just give her another one ill check later.????? what are you gonna check? Is this an accusation of theft.for some $6 eye covers. Why would you say that in front of a new client, that just signed a six month contract. It made me feel uncomfortable, and if others were listening, now they're probably going to look at me as the girl accused of theft. Sooo awkward. If would of been better to just say no problem grab a pair. And then keep accusations to yourself and check while I'm in the beds, and still there right. Well its ok it was just a mix up. I don't blame anyone just thought they should know to be more careful next time how they handle things. read more
