I am going to do a review comparison for those who may be looking around for the best. The two…read morethat I'm going to compare is Celsius Tannery in Westwood and Golden Tan in Mission. For price I like Golden Tan. They just seem to have better specials. Cleanliness I like Celsius. The rooms are white sheet-rock with light carpet and a bright cheerful atmosphere. Golden tan has unfinished particle board walls that don't go all the way to the floor. That's good for air circulation but I don't feel the privacy that I do at Celsius. And the bldg is dark and older. Not a big deal but it's just an older atmosphere. Also, there is something about the ceiling at Golden Tan that makes me feel exposed. For air-conditioning, I give it to Celsius. The bldg temperature is always comfortable and cool and I've never gotten hot while in the beds or after getting out. For operating hours, I prefer Golden Tan because I like that they have later hours. As for the product (the tan) I feel like I get more color from Celsius and in less time. Golden Tan has 20 min beds; Celsius has 10 min for about same price. I'm cheap so I just always do the cheapest beds available. Honestly I don't notice much difference in the amount of color I get. I just get the same but in less time if I go to Celsius. The beds appear to be newer and nicer at Celsius. As for the staff, I prefer Celsius because they are friendly and clean-cut if you will. Just one thing I really dislike is that Celsius staff always push product or upgrading your package. I'm a repeat customer so I don't need a sales pitch every time. It gets old fast. For this, I knocked off a star. Golden Tan staff has, for the most part, has been polite and friendly but I've experienced some that were less attentive. Once the front desk gal propped the door open and smoked outside the door while her cigarette smoke sucked right into the bldg. It was hard to breathe while stuck in a bed with no place to get relief. Another time the young girl and her boy friend were sitting up on the counter s with a TV on as if they weren't interested in their customers. Also you might find a few more tattoos and cigarette smells on the Golden Tan staff. I've never experienced a wait at either of these. Celsius maybe a few minutes but I almost always get right in. I've never had to make reservations at either of these salons. Bottom line: I would have to give Celsius my preference overall. I'll still go to Golden Tan when I want cheap and convenient.

The website says that the salon can complete a custom tan. I called and was informed that they…read moreschedule via a group chat with the sprayers. I had a few questions to ensure selection of the right services. I'm Black American and really needed help with 2 custom applications within the next couple of weeks for an event. Understandable that our business may not be a huge source of revenue. I don't understand why if the business doesn't offer service for populations with darker melanin this isn't just stated. They did apologize that they weren't able to help, but I can't begin to express how many emotions rushed in with this experience. Updated Close: The last message from the business is highlighted in the third image at the bottom of the screen "Okay! Sorry we couldn't help." That is actually verbatim the text. We can align that the business said it could not help. The challenge with using text, is the elimination of one's ability to understand tone and in some case's context. For me scheduling a simple service I was initially excited about resulted in tears, frustration and humiliation. Requiring the use of text to schedule an appointment... well simply put, it's a service gap within the business. The defined gap for Tan360 is there's no way for the customer to get support in identifying the right services from someone who can provide experience or expertise in an unfamiliar subject matter to the consumer. The team was not able to answer questions. The initial review was completed and submitted prior to Brina's call attempt. To close the loop, this was and is my experience through my lens as a Black American with Tan360. I didn't provide false data, nor capitalize any part of the subpar experience, screenshots were provided for support. and I referenced the business and practices I experienced. It's simply that, my experience. It feels 1964 'water fountain'. While, I believe it important to share my experience with others, I'm comfortable with the notion that Tan360 did not experience or feel any part of what I did. The target is to bring awareness to others to avoid what I experienced. If Tan360 gains useful nuggets, increased cultural awareness, or even impact awareness from the review, well I think that's cool as well. The key is this, if this is the experience to drink from the fountain, it's not the water I want and that's my choice. I clearly communicated the concern to the business and was very open about the review prior to posting. Attempting to call after I had already closed the matter with Tan360 staff to not actually discuss any part of the concern but rather to schedule the appointment is dismissive, and oblivious. Starting with, 'hey, I understand we didn't get you what you needed. I'm sorry, would you be comfortable with speaking with me directly? I'd like to help,' is a great way to open the door to uncomfortable conversations. How about just simply saying, "I'm so sorry you experienced that. It's not my desire, so thank you for sharing. I'd like to help." There are a myriad of responses... minimizing my experience or review however.... is not the best approach.

I just purchased a membership at the Liberty, MO location in April 2026…read more I thought prior to posting a review about my experience I would reach out to Sun City and let someone know what happened in hopes of someone making this situation right for me or at the very lest respond to my complaint but I have not heard back from anyone so I am posting this review to help warn others of this scam. Be aware if you actually have a problem with the store, the store manager is not able to help you at all. The manager will only direct you to an online chat who apparently is not concerned with client complaints and won't even respond . So basically don't even waste your time. When I purchased my membership in Liberty I specifically told the young lady I just want to get something to use for the month of May for my sons wedding, I wasn't for sure if I should just buy tans or do the membership, the representative told me the best thing for me to do was purchase the membership. I told her several times I just wanted something for one month and she told me to buy the package I purchased . She also told me after my card goes through this one time that I can cancel my membership so I don't get charged again in May. When she signed me up for the membership she just asked me to sign the pen pad , when I asked her for a printed copy so I could read it before signing she told me they don't do that and will just email me my copy. I told her I would like to see what I am signing and she kept saying don't worry about it I will send you an email with everything how we discussed . I again said to her I can cancel anytime after the card goes through this one time and it's just for one month and then I can cancel for May. She assured me that was correct . I asked her if I could cancel right after she ran my card on the day I signed up so I wouldn't have to worry about canceling later and she said , no they need time to process this transaction. After every time I signed the pen pad I asked her again so I can cancel and am not signing up for May, correct ? I was told yes Every time. Well of course after I got home and received a copy of the contract I signed it clearly stated my card would be charged again in May and then after that I could cancel . When I went in today for my tanning session I spoke to the manager, who literally did not even apologize for the miscommunication of her staff member and only directed me to this email. As a customer I feel like I was totally taken advantage of. Maybe the young lady was not trained properly but I specifically asked her several times confirming that my card would only be charged this one time . I think it's a shame she would not give me a printed copy to review prior to signing. All I would have had to do was to be given the opportunity to read it and I would have seen that my card would be charged in April and May. I feel like I was completely taken advantage of and was scammed! No one cares at this place . I would never recommend this business and would go never back!!!!!

I previously used services at Sun Tan City, but I moved out of state (to Ohio) in May 2025 and…read morecanceled my membership at that time. I even received confirmation that my services were canceled, so I thought everything was taken care of. Fast forward to March 2026--almost a year later--and I was suddenly charged $104 for a monthly membership fee. This was especially concerning because I hadn't been charged anything in the months leading up to that, and I haven't used their services since moving. I reached out to customer service thinking it was an obvious mistake and asked for a refund. Instead of correcting the issue, they offered to put the money on a gift card. I explained that I don't even live in a state where they have locations anymore, so a gift card is completely useless to me. They suggested I give it to a friend or family member--which completely misses the point. This was an unauthorized charge, and I simply wanted my money back. It got even more frustrating from there. They told me I needed to provide proof that I moved out of state before they would even consider issuing a refund. I don't feel like I should have to prove anything when they were the ones who made the error, but I still complied and sent documentation showing I now live in Ohio. They then claimed they couldn't open the attachment and gave me another email to send it to--which bounced back as undeliverable. Since then, I've followed up multiple times with no response. I've now had to open a fraud case with my bank to try to recover my money. This doesn't feel like an "error"--it feels like a shady business practice. Watch your bank statements if you've ever used them.
