After the roof company mishandled my solar panels Bruce and his guys installed, he analyzed the issue and came over to adjust the system. The issue was fixed and now the system is working as before the roof replacement! Many thanks to Bruce. I definitely recommend San Diego Solar Install for anyone's solar installation.

Out of all the companies I contacted, San Diego Solar Install offered the best overall solar + battery package for the price. I initially reached out through their website and received a prompt response from Bruce, the owner. He's extremely personable, takes the time to answer every question, and genuinely addresses any concerns. He's one of the rare solar professionals who truly cares about his customers rather than just making a sale. Chad, Ian, and the rest of the installation team did a meticulous job installing both the solar panels and batteries, all within a tight timeline. The quality of their work really shows--see the attached photos for yourself. As I'm writing this at night, my home is running entirely off the Enphase batteries with zero power being pulled from the grid, which really highlights how well the system is performing. The other Yelp reviews definitely don't lie!

I needed to repair my skylight after noticing moisture on an area of the wood below it. I received…read moreseveral quotes, but Sunline Energy was the only company that recommended fixing the root of the problem rather than just putting a Band-Aid on it. My skylight had been installed incorrectly by another company, which was contributing to the moisture issue. Since skylight repairs can be a relatively small job, I found that not many reputable companies were interested in doing this type of work. I was very happy to find Sunline Energy. Juan handled the skylight and related roof and flashing repairs, and I can't say enough about the quality of his work. He is a perfectionist and took the time to make sure everything was done correctly. He went above and beyond and fixed both the skylight and surrounding roof area beyond my expectations. Based on my experience and the quality of Juan's work, I would highly recommend Sunline Energy to anyone needing skylight or related roof repairs.

Adding on after Sunline Energy's response: I did not mention the following yet it is important to do so, in 2024 3 roofing companies told me that the roof was past due on repair, I had mentioned what happened with Sunline Energy in 2023 and was told that your company as well as others install on roofs that are not healthy enough and even with replacement of shingles the plywood was not thick enough to support solar panels, in other words, Sunline never mentioned something that was felt just by walking on the roof, ethics should be as important as obtaining a sale because people work hard to keep there home maintained, honesty is the best policy, I understand that the company must achieve sales but situations as so are very disturbing, Sunline Energy continues to owe us $1,000 due to a deposit for a job that never took place.

Our solar system had to be removed, which was all done by SD Roofing and Solar. The crew arrived on time every day, kept the worksite clean (they did a full cleanup at the end of each day), and treated my property with respect throughout the project. The quality of the installation itself was top-notch--exactly what you want when you're investing in something as critical as your roof. A special callout to Dylon, the project manager. His communication was exceptional--clear, proactive, and consistent. He stayed directly involved throughout the job, which made a big difference in ensuring everything went smoothly. It's rare to see that level of hands-on management. They also handled the solar panel dismount and reinstall flawlessly, which is not a trivial task. Even though I'm now upgrading my system due to the NEM 3.0 transition, their work made that process seamless. Post-installation support has been just as impressive. They've continued to be responsive and helpful, especially coordinating around my new solar project--something many companies tend to disappear on after the job is done. Pricing was very reasonable for the level of quality and service provided. And as a bonus--no nonsense on the job site. Unlike some other crews I've seen in the neighborhood, these guys were professional the entire time. Bottom line: excellent workmanship, strong communication, fair pricing, and a team that clearly takes pride in what they do. Highly recommended.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!…read more This was the worst experience I've had with a solar service company. I contacted them because my SolarEdge system stopped working. Before scheduling service, I provided the inverter error code, which indicated that the inverter likely needed repair. However, they told me the issue was not the inverter but an arc fault. Since I'm not a solar technician, I trusted their diagnosis. They inspected my system for $299 and then quoted me $3,500 to repair the issues they identified. After completing the work, the problem was not fixed. It wasn't until their second visit that they finally contacted SolarEdge technical support--a step that, in my opinion, should have been done during the initial diagnosis. SolarEdge then confirmed that the actual problem was a failed inverter and two faulty optimizers, all of which were still covered under the manufacturer's warranty. The technician told me they would send a new quote to install the warranty replacement (RMA) parts. When I received it, they wanted to charge me an additional $4,300 just for the labor to install the warranty-covered inverter and optimizers. That would have brought my total out-of-pocket cost to $7,800, even though the parts themselves were under warranty. I attempted to contact the company several times to discuss both the original $3,500 charge--which did not resolve the problem--and the new $4,300 quote totally the $7,800. Unfortunately, my calls have gone unanswered, and I have not received a response. Because of this experience, I decided not to move forward with them. I found another reputable company with excellent reviews that is completing the same warranty replacement for $1,200 in labor. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company. I encourage anyone considering their services to get a second opinion and compare labor quotes before authorizing expensive repairs.
