The project started out fine at first-I sent Jeremiah a couple of pictures of a small roof that needed new shingles and he gave me a good price. The first problem I had with him was when he asked for more money. I was planning on giving him a tip anyway, but asking for more money when a price was agreed upon in advance in my experience is a bad approach to doing business. After several delays, he finally finished just before a rainstorm set in. The roof leaked, and not only did he decide it was more important to get new tires on his truck than repairing his faulty work, but in the discussions we had by text (he wouldn't take my phone calls) he called me a dumb ass and a little b**ch! I have been a licensed contractor for 53 years and have never been treated like this by any of my customers or fellow contractors. I have seen his other reviews and I'm sure the meltdown he had isn't a regular occurrence, but he does seem to have anger issues. read more

From the beginning of the job for my roof, the company did a thorough inspection. Took photos of my roof for me to see and told me the scope of all the work that would be needed. The cost breakdown was clear and very fair! I had termite damage and Nolan repaired the wood quickly with the rate sheet cost in advance. I am totally pleased and satisfied with Nolanco Roofing company. Jeremiah the owner, Jeremiah Nolan was on the job site from the beginning to the very end, addressing any thoughts or concerns I might of had. The entire job was done in one week! His estimator, Tom has been with the company for many years and is a very pleasant person to do business with. In September 2017 had my flat roof repaired with the 80 Mil TPO membrane. It has not given me one day of problems! So I definitely called the same roofing company to do my red tile roof. His crew was thorough, quick, stocked all the material on one side, putting tarps down underneath their vehicles without even being asked. Cleanup was on the job site was daily. They blew any roof dust, and in my case dried termites droppings off all walkways and backyard. Also the crew was very efficient, clean, nice and polite. I highly recommend them and would definitely be a referral for them anytime Now and in the future. Top notch company! read more

Jeremiah and Tom are real professionals. Tom responded to all my questions and helped me to make an informed decision on the roof type and also ventilation in the garage. Jeremiah went above and beyond to tolerate my tenant and did a fantastic job on the roof. He was always available and was extremely helful to manage all the issues related to my tenant. It made my life much easier on an stressful project. They also gave me a good price and finished on budget and on time. I recommended Nolanco roofing to all friends and family. read more

We are preparing for a solar panel installation and needed repairs before proceeding with our project. Thomas Rucker did a fantastic job of estimating necessary repairs and keeping costs down. Even with the rain we have been having Nolanco was able to get repairs done quickly. Adam did the roofing repairs in the morning, and the owner, Jeremiah, reviewed his work that same day. They were great! read more

Last year, Nolanco Roofing replaced a very old, flat roof on my California Room. I found Jeremiah pleasant, dependable, and a very honest businessman. His price was reasonable, and the roof of that room looks wonderful! Because of my wonderful experience with him and his company last year, his company was who I called a few weeks ago to get my house's roof totally replaced since it was quite clear that it was on it's way out. Jeremiah promptly sent out Thomas to measure everything and to give me the estimate. The estimate came in at my expectations. Because I already knew that I was dealing with honest people, I must admit that I didn't do what consumers are supposed to do and get more bids. Because another customer rescheduled their project with them, they were able to start work on my roof immediately. They showed up promptly to clear off the old roof, and it was done quickly. They did a nice job cleaning up after themselves. Then, Jeremiah again proved to me how honest he is. First of all, he told me that it is very uncommon to not have to replace any of the boards on the roof but yet I had none that needed to be replaced. Also, when I thought that my fascia boards might need to be replaced by them because they were looking ratty, he told me that they had inspected every board and all were in good condition and did not need to be replaced; they just needed to be painted. Basically, he did not try at all to sell me something that I did not need. My final cost was what the estimate was. That said, my situation was unusual because everything was still in good condition, and another customer might not have everything in good condition which would increase the cost. If that happens, though, with Nolanco you can be assured that what they say needs to be replaced really does need to be replaced. Alex, the roofer did an excellent job of installing the roof. I have already referred my sister to them to do her house. Because of termite damage, she will need a lot of boards replaced. In that case, her price will be higher than the estimate, but I have no doubt that what they charge her for replacing boards will be a fair and competitive price. In case you can't tell, I highly recommend Nolanco for your roofing needs. BTW, I did learn the hard way that you should clap if you want the roofer's attention and not just start talking to him. Alex didn't know that I was there until I startled him by talking to him. He almost fell backwards off of the roof, but fortunately he was able to balance himself. Sorry, Alex! Now others know to clap to get your attention! read more

Jeremiah and his crew did a great partial roof replacement for me. The price was fair and they did not try to upsell me. All of the workers showed up on time and worked very hard. I like to hire local and was not disappointed. read more

Jeremiah and his team are wonderful. From estimate to clean up they were professional the whole time, on budget and on time. We were on vacation while our roof and venting were being replaced and kept us updated the whole time. Would and will highly recommend them to everyone. read more

I had Nolanco put on a new roof and I must say the quality of their work is exceptional. All employees were very courteous and kept the area clean. Jeremiah was easy to contact when needed. I'd highly recommend this company. read more

If there is a 0 star I would have added it. The people never came to our house and left us hanging with 0 communication.

These guys are great! They're a family owned company that puts the customer first. Tom was awesome helping me with my quote which beat the others might I add. Jeremiah and the crew were awesome as well. They were professional and answered all my questions. Jeremiah even walked the roof with me after tear off to go over the problem areas and then once again after the work was complete to make sure I was satisfied. I understand that not everyone is able to climb up on the roof with them but the fact that he is willing to do this shows transparency. From now on anyone who asks me if I know good roofer I will refer them to Nolanco. I've also had a number of complements from neighbors on the new roof all ready. Now I can't wait for good rain storm to test her out! If you're in the market for a new roof and on the fence on who to choose go with these guys. You won't be disappointed read more

We determined we needed to replace the roof on a large portion of our house in order to have solar panels installed. I contacted many different companies to get quotes/advice. Nolanco was by far the most responsive and helpful. Tom made the initial quoting process easy and answered all of my follow-up questions. Jeremiah discussed the entire process, came over to review the job before it started and could not have been more responsive to all my inquiries. Adam and the rest of the crew did a fantastic job, were friendly, professional, respectful and clean. They completed the entire project in the time frame they described. Did I mention they also had the best pricing of everyone I contacted? If you have a roofing project I would highly recommend you contact them. I have zero complaints and nothing but praise for them. read more

They did great and on time and on budget. A real nice surprise today as the project manager Adam Baker worked to insure we were water tight before rains . The whole project involved removal, woodwork and the roof replacement. We couldn't have been happier with the whole crew . Jeremiah and Tom were a pleasure to work with and followed up every question we had. Adam worked on Saturday and was really neat and clean ,he made sure all trash and nails were picked up every day and that are grand kids wouldn't be hurt . Our thanks to this great crew for a great job. Highly recommend this company if you need a new roof read more

I went with Nolanco based upon Yelp reviews and I was extremely pleased. Tom came out to do the bid and I was sold upon his professionalism. Part of my roof has a low pitch, so I went with a white TPO rubberized product, as opposed to traditional rolled roofing. Unfortunately, during the middle of the job a large storm hit and my roof began to leak into my living room. I called Jeremiah at 1 in the morning and he came out thirty minutes later, went onto my roof, and fixed the tarp that had partially blown off, which is what caused the leak. He assured me if there was any damage to the interior of my house he would notify his insurance company, who would pay for the damage. Luckily there wasn't any damage. The crew was very efficient and clean. They thoroughly cleaned the job site after each day of work. The end product was outstanding and the overall cost was very competitive. The project coincided with having solar installed by another company, which caused some hiccups; however, Jeremiah worked well with the solar company. I highly recommend this company! read more

Very happy with the job done by Nolanco Roofing in repairing some leaks. We have a Spanish tile roof, so not an easy job, and I was not looking forward to it. They did a beautiful job, very neat and organized. The crew was wonderful. This is the second job they did at my house, fixing a totally different problem. read more

I realize that all decent roofing contractors are crazy busy right now after all the heavy rains we've had, but I've called these people two days in a row and their voicemail box was full both days, couldn't leave a message. Yesterday I tried reaching them at their website and was informed it wasn't working. Very frustrating! Can't you at least empty your voicemail box? I give up. read more

Just go with these guys. I did a lot of research trying to find the right contractor to do my roof. These guys come well recommended. So I thought I'd go for it. I'm glad I did. They did an amazing job. Thanks Jeremiah! read more

So happy with the service and work these guys provide. Construction was just completed on the 2nd roof they've done for me and it looks great. Jeremiah is very accommodating to issues that are typical with an old house, he presents multiple options and helps walk you through everything so you understand. My neighbor works in construction and came to tell me he was watching the guys roof my house and he was so impressed by their attention to detail and professionalism. read more

I am so happy to say that Nolanco Roofing installed a new roof on my house, it needed it badly for years. I recently purchased the home from my parents and am giving the house the attention it deserves as we literally had the worst roof in the area for miles. Jeremiah Nolan (the owner) came out, gave me a quote and an honest assessment of the house and I felt really comfortable making a deal with him. I was apprehensive getting the work done as my elderly mother is at the house and I didn't want to disrupt her too badly and he was sensitive to the situation which I thought was pretty cool. I had dealt with another very well known roofer in the neighborhood who tried to upsell me on things that I didn't need and quoted me over $5k higher than Nolanco's quote. His crew are some of the hardest workers I've seen and I work for a contractor so I know when people are really giving their all. I now have THE BEST LOOKING ROOF for miles, their workmanship, attention to detail along with Jeremiah's elite customer service has been beyond what I could have hoped for. I have since hired him back for a side job and although it was out of the scope of his normal work, another great job was performed by a licensed contractor and by a group of people who I feel really comfortable having at the house. I am so proud of their work and consider them all complete professionals who I respect. Jeremiah is just an awesome person and I consider him a friend. Thanks for everything! read more

Review revision 9/18/16. Since my initial review Tom and I connected after some delays and communication technical difficulties which resulted in him not showing up. We rescheduled his estimate. I wasn't home at the time he came by but my wife indicated that he was courteous, conscientious, and professional in his demeanor. At the time of this revised review, we're still in the down-select process to pick a roofer but wanted to update the review based on the new info. I initially reached out to Tom because of the high percentage of favorable reviews. Unfortunately I don't have a favorable review to add because at the agreed upon appointment we made (8/26/16) for him to provide an estimate on my patio cover repair, he was a no-show and did not call. I understand that things happen but in this day and age of cell phones, texting, etc., that's an unacceptable combination. Thanks to Yelp these types of events get documented for the benefit of all. read more

Due to some confusion on their end, the start of our job was delayed considerably, and we were then asked to start the job before the contract arrived. But once the job got underway everything was great. Good communication, the job seemingly completed well, and a very fair price. We won't know for sure until the first good storm, but so far very pleased with the work they did! read more

Couldn't be happier with the service Nolanco Roofing provided. Our detached garage roof needed to be replaced and Tom came over to give us a timely and accurate estimate. The owner, Jeremiah, took it from there. The price we were given at the beginning, was the one we paid at the end. No surprises there. The price was also very affordable. I reviewed and received estimates from 4 companies in San Diego, all of which I found here on Yelp with 4.5 stars or above. Nolanco won the job! As for scheduling, they were able to get our roof work started within a week because of the small nature of our job and finished in less than 3 full days. They cleaned up after themselves and were a pleasure to work with. We'll be using them again for the main house when it's ready to be replaced! read more

Updated to a one-star review instead of two because after Jeremiah responded to my last Yelp review to contact him, I did and never heard back to fix the situation. So if you aren't going to respond to your clients after you ask them to contact you, how are you supposed to trust them to fix your roof and honor their warranty? read more

Rude, Unprofessional. They fixed our roof and it continued to leak . We called to get it re-fixed after just being fixed and they refused to re-fix the leak they were supposed to fix originally! They continued to refuse our call for service but insisted we pay for the broken roof that was supposed to be repaired, but don't want to properly fix it. This company is perfect if you want a leak stopped for 10 hours! Just don't expect them to fix the leak you originally asked them to, they never fix what you pay for then want the payments (: I mean, unless you have money to just throw away this is perfect. Might as well donate your money to a organization that will actually benefit from your hard worked money, instead of giving it to people that don't like to work ((: read more

Easily the best roofing contractor I have ever worked with. This is our third time working with Jeremiah and his team. Very professional service, clean, efficient. Competitive price for highest quality work. His team started on schedule and finished the project ahead of schedule and on budget. His crew was a pleasure to have around, especially with our kids doing distance learning at the time. They were patient, understanding, and took extra care to make sure the kids were safe throughout the process, including practicing social distancing and wearing masks for COVID. They left our home cleaner than when they started, and given the quality of work we have seen them do before, we are confident our roof will be in great shape for many years to come. read more

Phenomenal roofer! I got FOUR estimates, all from well-known, well-respected roofers in the industry, and this guy blew them all away. He thoroughly explains what he does and shows photos of your work as it progresses so you know what is actually being done. My roof was already leaking in August, during our mild rains, and I was overdue to have the whole roof replaced. Jeremiah removed six layers of flat roof on my 80-year-old house and removed the tile on the front (which hadn't been replaced AT ALL in 80 years). The work was flawless, neat and done with perfection! Even the tile replacement was perfect - looks like it was never touched and the Mills Act folks will love it. I even had foam board insulation put on my flat roof and extra tile edging all the way around. My neighbors thought I spent way more than I did. They were amazed at the quality job - and many had already had their roofs done, so they were awed by the quality. The work was done in a timely manner and clean-up was superb. Do yourself a favor, and make sure this man is in your lineup of estimates!! He's also a nice guy, to boot. You won't be sorry. 3-9-13 I am adding this update. It has been three years since I've had my roof installed, and even after our torrential rains of the last few days, there has been NO problem with my roof. Jeremiah's work stands the test of time. read more

After getting several estimates on a new roof I decided on a company that sounded most competent. Jeremiah and his crew came out put on a new roof on my 90 year old craftsman, after the storms the last couple weeks, my sturdy little house should last 90 more. I truely feel confident I picked the right company. I have had zero problems with my new roof, it's attractive and quality built. Great company, great service and great work. Can't beat that! Thanks Jeremiah and crew. read more

Jeremiah responded about a small roof modification that needed to be done. After calling 4 different roofing companies who flat out turned down the job as 'too small' for their time, Jeremiah came out, gave me a fair estimate that was 10% under a competetive bid, and accomplished the work exactly on the day he said he would. On time, on budget and honest labor. You can't ask for more from a contractor. I educated myself on the material I wanted, and Jeremiah did exactly what I asked. Highest possible praise for this company. read more

I got bids from 3 different contractors, and I went with Nolanco because their bid included details on better materials and better strategies for dealing with some of the problem areas in my complicated roof. I just walked my completed roof, and the results are outstanding. Areas that have leaked in the past now look like you could dam them up and go for a swim, with top quality materials and metal sheeting in strategic areas to guide the water off the roof. While the bid they gave included the better paper, better TPO, and longer warranties, they went above and beyond what they specified, with extremely well done additional details designed to address the oddities of my roof, all at no additional cost over the initial bid. Nolanco showed up as scheduled, and they worked all day every day until the job was done. I asked Nolanco for a top quality roof, and for barely more than the other "no-frills" bidders they totally over-delivered. T. read more

How about some praise for a company that says what they are going to do and then over-delivers! I needed a roof repair, their guy was here, assessed the situation, quoted me a price and had a crew her within the week. Nolan did our roof in connection with getting solar panels installed. They were great. On time, contentious, complete and reasonably priced. There was one issue that came up afterwards (not Jeremiah's fault - poor roof design from long ago) and they took care of that asap. Easy to work with and LOCAL! (Odd thing....I left a review when to job was done in January 2016 and it seems to have disappeared.) read more

I had nolanco roofing put a new roof on my del mar house and I have to say that these guys are great. Right on the price and they were timely and very professional . I am in the construction business and know a little about the process and I was pleasantly surprise. Jeremiah is the owner and he was very much hands on, but my favorite guy is Tom , not always timely but he has a heart as large as my house. He is always a little behind the clock but I soon realized he is that way because he is going the extra mile for his last client. What a team they all are!!! Thank you guys from the bottom of my heart. Bob Fillion This company not only did a great job initially but were excellent when I sold our home and a senseless home inspector called for silly repairs only benefiting himself. Tom came out and re inspected and wrote a report that supported a clean bill of roof health. Helped me out a lot. Did I mention this happened more than 3 years after they installed our original roof. This is a stand up company. Bob Fillion read more

In order to hire Thomas, he would have to show up for the appointment time the company set. He didn't show up and when I called to ask if he was coming, he claimed that he tried to call me several times and that my voice mail was full. Not true. I had no missed calls and I checked my voice mail and it wasn't full. So I called him anyway and asked if he planned on still coming. He said that his other appoint near me had been canceled so he wanted to reschedule mine. He tried to reschedule for the next day and that wasn't going to work for me. I had already wasted 3 hours of my morning in driving time and waiting for him. He then said that he would drop everything and drive the 40 minutes to get to my house. I texted him as soon as we hung up and told him to not bother coming because I had other bids from roofing companies who are professional and with integrity. Thomas has the audacity to leave me a VM, chewing me out for not telling him to come when we were on the phone. Terrible customer service and needs to learn how to apologize when he makes a mistake. Humility goes a long way in promoting good relations. So, in a not shell, based on this initial experience, I would never use this company. Can't really comment on quality of work but reliability is a huge part of it. read more
