We wanted to purchase our own solar set up, and do it differently than the "traditional" install.

Sadly, i didn't research as much as I maybe shouldve. They bid about $3000 higher than 2 other quotes i had recieved (one of which was also a GAF certified roofer offering the same certifications) . After i signed, then they would not price match for some lame reason or even consider lowering the cost or including doing drip edge flashing which the other company offered to do at the lower price. Come to find out as well, they did not recommend it, or consider installing drip edge flashing when i didn't have any at all on the roof which i wasnt aware of. When the roof was off i could definitely see some fascia rotting adn damage, so i get to do that myself now instead of when its easiest to do with the roof off.... The actual roof itself seems to have been done well, which for the price it better have been. but I can't help but feel i overpayed and was underdelivered...

We will definitely contact them when it is time for a new roof. They did our new roof in August and did a great job. It was done in one day and the workers stayed until it was done. We are very happy with the quality and will definitely use them again in future when we are ready for siding.

However, our sales rep: Joe went through the process in great detail and patience with ALL my questions and concerns. No other company had the answers that Joe had. There was not one that he did not have an answer for. Then when they came out to install; KO, Mike, Brandon, and Antonio were ABSOLUTELY fantastic and made me love the company. If this is the quality of service, then.... Very well done. They were very friendly and professional. There was an issue when I was able to turn it on and they came immediately back out to repair. They did not leave until the job was done and was very patient with my hovering presence. Thank you! I fully recommend this company for your solar needs!

I signed a Sales Agreement to purchase a rather large residential system in Nov 2022. The system was installed in Dec 22. There were system fault indications from the beginning, and it took over 4 months of numerous inquiries and requests for support for Noble Solar to finally correct the problem. I was promised almost $5,000 in incentives to purchase the system from Noble Solar......over $4,000 to cover the first year's payments, a Google Nest Thermostat, and an additional $500 Military incentive......it's now been almost a year and I have not received any of the incentives promised. Responses from Noble Solar regarding my multiple inquiries and requests for status and details on incentive payments have gone from delayed, vague excuses to completely ignoring and refusing to respond. I have never once been personally contacted by anyone from Noble Solar to explain why I have been misled, lied to, and ignored. I can't imagine a company/business stooping any lower than to take advantage of the elderly and/or military with false promises and poor support. Lack of leadership, horrific customer support, and zero integrity sum up my experience with Noble Solar (Virginia Beach). The entire experience with Expert Solar has been an absolute nightmare…read more Expert Solar is not an honest company. The installation of the panels was delayed by 2 months without notifying us of the delay. The lack of communication with the project manager was unacceptable. The panel were finally installed in October. Our ratified contract stated that the 70K panels we installed on our roof would cover at least 85% of our energy consumption. The next 2 months we received a invoice for $800 from our local electric company. The panels were not producing any energy and we were still using local electricity. All the while, the app Solar Expert had installed on my husband's phone showed that our panels were producing over 90% of our consumption. It has been 6 months since the installation. We have spent 70K on panels, $1,300 on local electricity bills, Expert Solar then realized that the panels were not properly installed and sent out a crew for an entire day to correct the issue. They have not apologized, nor have they taken responsibility for their unprofessional behavior and their errors. I still support solar energy but regret having chosen Expert Solar. I would never recommend them. I will continue to fight this company, to receive the service that we were promised and for them to cover the high electricity bills for 5 months that we had to pay after paying Expert Solar 70K. Lorenzo and Ron are not very personable representatives. I find them to be unethical, immoral, and not trustworthy or honest. Unfortunately, they do not seem to know what it means to do the right thing. We just want them to honor the contract they made with us. In a world where we have lost all common sense and what it means to do the right thing, I hope to inform people and prevent them from having to experience the same disappointment, frustration and stress that we have had regarding the unprofessionalism and greed that Expert Solar represent.

There is a $8.30 charge to be connected to the grid, but my panels make enough extra power, that the credits pay for the connection fee. I was a ION SUPER FAN until last month. My solar panels shut down. I noticed and called customer service. They wouldn't even schedule a service technician until I paid the $250 service fee through a third party payment system, which required me to link to a bank account. YUCK! Then, they waited another 3 days for my payment to clear, before even scheduling an electrician. It then took another 10 days and several text messages to finally get the PAID FOR electrician on site. Blown fuse was the issue. Didn't look for a cause, just replaced the fuse. The system operated, but at reduced capacity. 3 days later another blown fuse. This time it only a week to get the (different) electrician to come. This time he did some trouble shooting and discovered the junction box up high on the house became unsealed and water was getting in that caused a short. He fixed it. A few days later, a supervisor from ION came to my door and we talked about the issue. He has been a great advocate and the system is up and running like it should. He even helped me set up a SREC account. I'd give 5 stars if corporate had done me right with the initial service. Waiting 3 days for my payment to clear, before even scheduling an electrician was the biggest drawback.

I overheard him but anyway long story short my husband ended up NOT purchasing the solar panels and I'm grateful to God for that because I see online a lot of those solar panel companies are scamming people trying to sell them solar panel contracts for 25 years as the case was with us! and it's diabolical I mean and then you don't own the solar panels that's just renting them. It's a scam and it is just crazy I've heard online people stating that they don't even work the way you're supposed to and they have to come and service them so yeah, be aware of these people coming to your door! I had solar panels added to my home by them in the fall of 2022. I'm sure that over the past few years, we have all seen different solar panel providers coming to our doors to try and get us to go solar. That happened with me. The first one that came out was from Ion Solar, but I wasn't as thrilled about them. They were too pushy, and they are also a national company, so they won't necessarily be tied to our area for years to come. Fast forward a little over a year later. One afternoon, I had two salespeople come to my door asking about my interest in solar. I had been interested at that time, so I talked with them. They were from Unlimited Solar. I did hear them out, and even though I was interested, the cost estimate was a bit of a shock, so I didn't pull the trigger on the project at that time. They asked if I was willing to have a sit down with them to go over more of the details, and I took them up on it, and it was scheduled for the following day. They didn't come the following day, but instead, the VP of Sales, Ray Kindley came instead. We had a great conversation that day, and in the end, I decided to go ahead and pull the trigger on going solar (this was around the end of April 2022). They work with GoodLeap for financing, and I was able to get a very low rate of 1.99%. When I asked about the power bank, he said it would add an additional 3 to 6 months for the approval process. Instead, he offered me a gas/propane generator instead at no added cost. It takes a while once the process gets started. The first step is that they have an inspection of the electrical panel, roof, and such to make sure it can be supported. Then, a site survey is conducted, so they use that to get plans drawn up to be approved by the city. The next steps are the longest parts of the process, as it comes to getting all the various approvals to do the solar install (city, electric company, and so on). During this process, Ray and his staff at Unlimited Solar kept me in the loop on the progression through the process. They work with Titan Solar, who did the actual install. As the fall season came, it was finally time to have the solar panels installed. The installation occurred on August 16, 2022. They were very thorough throughout the installation. They were aware of keeping things safe as they worked on it. There were a few times I had to go out for something, and they were really good about making sure everyone was safe when coming or going. The installation itself only took the one day. They did come back a few weeks later to take care of a few other things before the final inspections would take place. After that was completed, it was just a waiting game again for those final approvals from the city and Dominion Energy (including a meter change to track energy in and energy back out to the grid). At the beginning of October, the panels were turned on, but not sent to the grid until a week or so later when the final approval from Dominion Energy came through. I know a big question for everyone is how has going solar affected my electric bill. I wanted to share what it would have been like December through February (meteorological winter) since that is the time for the least amount of sunlight. Setting the same usage from 2022 and applying it to 2021 to give an apples-to-apples comparison. On average, if Dec 2021 - Feb 2022 had the same energy usage as Dec 2022 - Feb 2023, the average monthly costs were $86.75 and $44.14 respectively, which equates to an average of a 49% decrease in the electric bill. Overall, I am glad that I went solar. I am already seeing the returns in the sense that the electric bill is much lower now, and that when I pay the monthly financing payment along with that electric bill, the total amount is still lower than what I was paying for electricity before going solar. If you are thinking about or looking into doing solar on your home, I would totally take that a serious consideration. They are very open and transparent. If you do, make sure to reach out to Ray Kindley and Unlimited Solar as I highly recommend them. It's great to be able to work with a company that is local, honest and trustworthy.
