I wasn't gonna hate on this place and make a review but don't go there if your looking for a good job and nails that last more then 1 month because this isn't the place to go my nails fell off a week of getting them done paid 65$ plus a 10$ tip they didn't deserve. The lady doing my French tips took a nail polish brush then went in with a wet brush and did a sloppy job. To make matters worse there were my birthday nails for a party I was throwing by the time it came they were disgusting and broken. I never rate a nail place bad after tipping but this place takes advantage of you ,your time and your money. I don't work or have a hard job that would make this happen this is ridiculous. Pam is an excellent nail tech she gave me some lotion for free when we paid just because we said thank you so much and we gave her a very big tip but then the other nail techs said she wasn't there but we saw her and told her and the girl what told us Pam wasn't there didn't even work there she said that it was her first day there but pam is there everyday it was so good and they actually had some playing so the vibe was it 10 out of 10 it was so calm too i've been there when it was packed and when it was empty And it was so calm both times . read more

I have been coming here for about 2 years now. I always go to Jaya if available. These last few times i have been seated with someone else. My most recent visit was 8/22 and it was a disaster. I presented a picture of what i wanted, the guy started and it was nothing like i asked for so i asked him to start over with painting. He did. I asked for a simple line design.... He could not do it and ran around the shop trying to find someone who could. I ended up telling him to just make squiggly lines. When i got to the car, i was so annoyed with the visit and i was looking over my nails. The acrylic was so lumpy. The paint had little black specks in it and even a piece of hair. Solar Nails does an excellent job with my nails. I've tried others but came back to Solar Nails. Thom does and expert and meticulous attention to details is above and beyond. The fact they take advantage of young people with their parent's money..I use to like this place until the attitudes,dishonesty and greed took over.My daughter got her nails done with her friend.She was asked what pedicure she wanted,the basic without gel.Her friend got gel.She also was talked out of acrylics for an acrylic overlay.An overlay is less expensive than acrylics.I was floored when my daughter showed me her nails and was charged $95 for this low quality work.I called the salon and she was telling me how my daughter got the highest pedicure meanwhile her friend got gel and was charged the same price my daughter was.I explained how they take advantage of young people and the quality of their work has downgraded over the years.You don't treat your locals that's made you like trash.You don't swindle them out of money.You also when I call and express how I feel tell me it's her fault because she told your employee a basic and you gaslight someone.Your business will continue to fail because of this.Ill never recommend this lowdown thieving gaslighting shop to anyone.Remember where you are and who kept you in business.She'll get to show your work off at prom though read more

My first and last time! I was told there was a 30 min. wait. I had to wait 1 hour and 15 min. People who came in after me were attended to first. The man who did my gel manicure did a horrible and sloppy job. He didn't even file my nails! I asked if he was going to file my nails and he said "no, they are fine" and they needed filing! Was kind of nervous about trying this place because of the reviews but this place is amazing! I have tried out 2 other nail salons in Columbia and Solar Nails is far better in customer service and quality. I got a manicure and pedicure and all of the employees were incredibly kind and welcoming. Jason did my nails and toes and he did everything I asked without making me feel like a burden. All of the other employees were so nice too, speaking to me even though they weren't doing my nails. read more

This is now my 4th time coming in. 1st time I called to see if they took appointments which they don't so I walked in about an hour later. It was a good pedicure. 2nd time wasn't great but I was determined to give it another try since the 1st time was good. 3rd time was good again but the polish chipped within 48 hours. This is my 4th time in and it will be my last. I was told to grab a seat but given no wait time. I looked around and looked like it would be maybe 15/20 min wait. Good amount of time to soak. Well I'm now at an hour. Water is ice cold for the 2nd time. I've hit the massage cycle 5 times now. A family of 6 came in after me and they weren't told a wait time either. Nor was the poor girl who's getting ready for prom after me. Sounds like a reservation system is in desperate need. I thought coming in before 5 to avoid the after work rush would work but guess not. If I didn't already have so much time invested I would leave. The pedicure location selection is pretty limited in the area so I guess I'll be traveling in the future. read more

Where can I start...with 0 stars maybe...my friend and I went to go get our nails done and first they couldn't do anything we wanted..so we finally agree on something and they told me I had to soak off my nails. I was soaking for 45 minutes!! Then apparently the nail tech that was suppose to do my nails left for an emergency so I asked if someone could take off the rest of my nails since they had been soaking for so long. She did and I stated I was going to wash my hands because they felt weird from the acetone. She told me no! I told her yes! I told her I wasn't going to get anything done here and I was leaving. She tried to file my nails and asked was it fine and I told her no because I was going to get acrylics and add length because the other tech cut my nails off! My friend was getting her nails done as well. When the lady was painting them it looked like a 4 year old was doing it and it was all over the place! We asked them to take the polish off and we did not want her to finish them! While washing our hands the lady took my card and charged us $30 without our approval or acknowledgment! We had to go elsewhere and paid $104 to have awesome nails! I was just trying to treat my friend out while we were on vacation! This place was awful! I really wanted to like this place because it is fairly close to my house, but I more than likely will not be back. I asked for a pink and white set; not only are my nails unevenly shaped, but the amount of white he used on my nails compared to pink looks terrible and are crooked. Customer service was not welcoming either. Whenever I tried to strike up a conversation he would interrupt me by yelling to one of his fellow coworkers or cut me off with a phone call. I still payed full price and tipped 20% but I would not recommend to anyone. read more

This place is horrible!! I went in a couple of weeks ago to get a full set, I ended up waiting almost 2 HOURS!!!!!! So I finally got up and left. Not a word was said. No apologies, no nothing. So, I tried them again today. I asked how long it would take. She replied with 'oh about 15-30 minutes'. Okay. Cool. I don't mind. I ended up waiting OVER AN HOUR!! Idk why my dumb a** went back there anyways. But as I was leaving, one of the ladies said 'oh I can take you now, sit in this chair'. Seriously?!?! You wanna wait until I leave to offer a seat???? When my nails should have been done by now...and it was the same lady that told me 'oh it would be only 15-30 minutes'. Just plain awful! Didn't offer a drink or anything while I waited both times! Only here one other time... and unfortunately it will probably be the last time I come. Which is sad because I know others that love it here and it's close to home. First time... Pedicure was amazing. Manicure was rough and the male tech said I had a fungal growth because a woman did my nails before (huh?). This was back in the summer. Fast forward to today.... I came in for a pedicure only. Walked in and was immediately seated (12:30) (awesome!) Pedicure began....1 min scrub, 2 min massage, I was never asked what I wanted and I didn't see a menu of services... EVER. I'm seated up front drying my toes and it's only 12:50. I had been to Solar Nails a few times in the past and received good service. Unfortunately when I was there two days ago for a pedicure the service was awful. I had also asked that the gel be removed from my fingers and that the nails be shaped. I ended up filing my nails (which still has bits of gel on them) after I got home. The man who did my pedicure was rough and was on the verge of being tude. My toenails were not shaped and the job is pretty amateurish. What a disappointment. read more
