BEWARE: The owner makes up prices for pedicures and gel manicures as she sees fit. She had the nerve to charge me tax. She charged us an absurd amount for our services. This was my second time coming here and I got ripped off. My daughter asked for longer nails and the owner said no it's better short. I went here a few days ago for a gel pedicure and dip nails. (Solid colors, no nail art). My normal place usually does this in an hour and 15 minutes. Not at solar nails. I was there for 3 hours. My total was $125 and some change for BELOW AVERAGE WORK. First off: I had gel on my toes when I came in and expected of course for a soak off. NOPE. This girl takes out the "gel remover polish" that you get at Sally's (I own the stuff and it does NOT work) and puts it on my nails, leaves, comes back and SCRAPES THE HECK out of my toes with me saying "ow, ouch, ow" and she doesn't bat an eye. She repeats this process 3-4 times. The pedicure took 2 hours and it was NOT relaxing. When she was done I still had hangnails and excess skin around the top of my toenails. Not to mention the girl was high out of her mind. She was on another planet. Kept getting up to go vape in the back, I smelled it every time she returned to my chair. I am giving 2 stars because the dip nails weren't the worst I've ever had and she was much quicker with that part. They gave me a free bottle of lotion which was a nice touch but I will absolutely not return. Not for that price and that amount of time it takes. read more

My nails look absolutely horrible. It looked like I had my nails on for a week already. My nails also looked lumpy my pinky nail was on crooked and sticking up. The sides oh my nails didn't get filled they didn't clean under my nails so they had acrylic stuck. I got a matte gel polish you could see the brush strokes. I went in the next to to get them fixed and they still look horrIble. I paid 80 bucks total for this and my 6 year old to get her nails painted. read more

DO NOT WALK IN. If you have someone there that you know, love, and trust that's your business but otherwise just don't risk it. It's not worth the damage they do to your nails that inevitably you will pay another nail tech to fix. It will take forever and you will walk out with a subpar product. Lorain county has too many other, better options to suffer this experience. read more

Horrible. Paid $40 for a fill and gel, only to have to come back the next day to get it fixed, which still wasn't done right and chipped again a few hours later. The only person somewhat professional was the owner, and the air conditioning was out which made the experience even worse. My nails were rushed and after wasting all that money on a bad nail job, I need another fill a week later... and I am not rough on my nails. Don't waste your time. read more

I was a walk-in and although the people are very friendly, the acrylic nails I got were not worth $37.28! Some of my nails were not the right length. The acrylic looked wavy when I would turn my nails to the side. I wouldn't go back there because of the price. Way too high. Also took 2 hours to get the acrylic nails done. The place is clean and neat, but the work is terrible. I got a full set with gel polish. The next day my nails were falling off and the gel polish was peeling, I went back as they told me to return if I had any issues and that they'd take care of it. I think saying that becomes standard practice for most places, but I do hold them to their word. I returned and they argued with me about fixing my nails. Told me it was my fault that they were all falling off and even wanted me to pay to have them repaired. After that I've never returned and never will. read more

I have been a customeer of Solar Nails for years and I think they do a fantaastic job. I get gel manicures and pedicures when I go and both have been done perfectly. Everyone is friendly and as in life, some nail technicians are better than others, but if you see something you feel could be done better, mention it and it will be taken care of. read more

So I have been to this salon a few times, and the times I have been here I have gotten gel nails. Every time I had went to go get my nails done the gel was absolutely beautiful. But the acrylic nails were absolutely horrible, they got gel and acrylic all over my fingers and didn't even cover the full nail with the gel polish! I really liked them because from a far sight they were Stunning! The acrylic was super thin. The next day I went to school and was writing an essay the nail on my thumb popped off! I do not recommend anybody to ever go there!!! read more

I can say do not have your nails done here. They are not able to do a great job. They're just not capable as they aren't qualified. I stopped by and live on the west coast and they said they could do a simple fill/shellac. I was floored at there in aptness, the fill was put on my cuticle and the polish looks like a child did it. I use to think this place was great not so much any more. The girls there really don't care and rush. I went in when they first opened just so I didn't have to rush but they still did. I ask for the ultimate pedicure and manicure when I got there and repeated myself to make sure the girl that was doing it was told. Well I didn't get it and I overheard them talking about another person who set an appointment that wanted to get the same thing that they wasn't going to give her an option to get that. So basically the same thing they did to me. My pedicure was the worst I've ever had. And I did like my nails I just got the gel polish but now its only been a week and they are literally just peeling off. Needless to say I will never go again. The people are very nice, but this place is not great for gel manicures. They didn't get all of my old gel polish off before applying the new and the new polish was not applied smoothly. Also, most places do lotion and a little hand massage and I did not get either. Given all that, i think it was a little pricy. read more

I've had my nails done on and off for over 20 years at various places throughout Northeast Ohio. This was the first time that I walked out of an establishment hating my nails. I paid $75.00 plus tip for a mani with gel polish and a pedi with regular polish. I went in with medium length nails and walked out with extra small length and all I asked for was to shape them. My nails were done by one of the recent graduates from the Lorain County JVS program. I love that they hire recent graduates but they should not be charging regular prices for customers who choose to have their nails done by them. If you're looking for a top level nail tech this may not be the place for you. I would stay away from this place, especially for special events like weddings, proms, or any other occasion that is truly important. I would never visit this place again. I'm giving them one star because the place was nicely decorated, clean, and though the nail tech was inexperienced she was very kind. read more

The poeple are nice but they were in such a hurry to get me out of there that they had 2 people working on my nails. None of my nails were the same length or shape and I actually got a cut on my nail from one of the machines and I didn't realize until I got home and saw that my one nail was all blue. I had to take my nail off that finger immediately for fear of infection. I still have problems to this day with that nail. read more

I moved here from the east side looking for a new nail place. Gave this place many tries. I had shellac nails done 5-6 times and pedicures also, and have been disappointed most of the time. No hand or arm massage with manicure and nail polish color fades off within a few days, and this is shellac!!! Should not do this!!! They are very quick and do not pay attention to detail.
