The first step is the salesman comes out and explains all they offer and inspects the units and goes up in the attic to inspect our duct work. He reported that our ducting looks fine and so we proceed. Install goes fine and they gave us a year of free maintenance check ups - 2 times a year - summer & winter. Both free visits the technicians reported no issues, everything working great. GOOD, because it's brand new! Hindsight, our mistake was paying to keep the maintenance plan for the second year because now when each technician comes out they start trying to upsell you. The damn thing was less than 2 years old when the furnace technician tells us we probably need a surge protector installed inside the unit because this area has a lot of power surges, for a ridiculous price. 6 months later the A/C technician tells us our ductwork is too small. HUH? The guy that sold us the system inspected the duct work and said it's absolutely fine. And btw, they will charge you double the price of what an air filter costs. I found the exact filters on amazon and put them in myself. Also, once they gave us a window of say 1-5 when technician would arrive and then called at 5:30 and said they wouldn't be here until 7. 2 other times they cancelled and rescheduled. Our neighbors have since had similar bad experiences with this company and we are all very disappointed and are moving on from them. Would not recommend.

They built out a system for us that made sense for our usage, and also specialized in a very specific panel type I was looking for, which is a hybrid Solar PV + Solar thermal (heat) for pool water called CoolPV. Velocity actually paid for our June PG&E bill while we waited for the system to be completed. They fielded any/all questions I had throughout the process with timeliness and total transparency. We're now enjoying a system that is producing an abundant net credit on the energy side (~38-45kW/day from a 6.7kWh rated system) so far through the summer months, producing with incredible efficiency; at the same time keeping our pool heated at an amazing walk-in 88-90 degrees (we were normally seeing 78-81 degree top water temps this time of year w/o heat). If you're on the fence about purchasing solar, I would highly recommend Velocity for an honest, transparent assessment on whether solar makes sense for you. With PG&E woes continuing into 2020 and beyond, we've traded our insane utility bill for a fixed monthly payment and a 30% tax credit (last year for the 30%!) that will have the system completely paid for in only a few years time.
