As I suspected, they took our money and ran. Their phone number is cut off, and the office is closed. They will not be servicing anyone. All about the sales, not about the service. My inverter failed after 2 years, because apparently that's when many of them fail. It has been FOUR MONTHS of excuses why they haven't gotten someone to install it. It's literally like an hour's work for someone trained in this. They are slow to return phone calls or emails as well. Get solar, but get it from someone who believes in service after the sale. These guys ain't it. Update: They have cancelled yet another appointment to replace my inverter because they want to focus on sales installations rather than servicing their existing customers. I purchased solar panels from Solar Direct and the purchase and delivery was great. However, after having the panels for about 6 years, one of the panels started leaking. I downloaded the warranty forms and followed their instructions to the letter. After submitting my claim I did receive a response that they were reviewing my claim, but since that time I haven't heard a thing. It has now been 7 months since my submittal and I have sent the warranty department numerous requests, yet no response. I have also called all available numbers with no answers and no returned call. They have either gone out of business or their customer service is absolutely terrible and they do not honor their warrantees. Would not buy from them again. read more

I must say, my system is up and running perfectly after a visit from their technician, Rashad. He made a through review of my system, updated the software, and conducted a total reboot. My issue was resolved where my batteries were not functioning during a power outage. He tested the communication by simulatIng a power outage and we watched everything function as designed! I got a 42 panel system installed in around 2012. Great work, neat, fast 5 stars for that. This system went through Irma, and Ian without any damage whatsoever. HOWEVER in 2022 I had to get a new roof, contacted Solar Direct for take-down and reinstall. Along came Milton. North Port escaped the worst of the storm, maybe 80 MPH gusts ant most, not the 135 MPH of Ian and Irma. Milton blew 5 panels off my roof, $1600 to my roof. I contacted Solar Direct about coming to replace the panels and wrote to them asking for a very good price since the re-install most likely was not done correctly, the panels NEVER should have come off in that wind. I called and called. Finally I emailed and got a reply that they are backed up. About a month later a Tech turned up to inspect. That was about 4 weeks ago. I have called, texted, 15, 20 times. Do not hire this company they get their money and leave you empty handed. I contracted Solar Direct for installation of pool heating panels in April of 2024. The install seemed to go well except two week later we had water leaking from several panel connection. Contacted service and it took them several weeks to send a tech to address the problems. In June we had major leaks in three different connectors and I contacted them again, actually I had to leave numerous messages, they never answered or returned calls. Finally after weeks I got an email saying they got my message and could I send pictures , which I did, and they would be in touch. Mean time several more connections started leaking. August 8 they indicated financial and employee problems and implored us not to post any negative reviews. I realized they had no intention to live up to the warranty and contracted another company to fix the issues. I have since received additional correspondence from Solar Direct in October and November asking for patience and understanding, still ignoring the original request. I purchased my Solar system from Solardirect in 2018. Dale spend considerable time with me in working towards getting an estimate and helping me understand things needed to get best value (such as reducing demand by things like heatpump water heater which paid for itself quickly AND saved me significant sizing on my system). I live in Edgewater FL around 4 houts from Sarasota where Solar Direct is and I was worried about continued service after install. Dale assured me they would stand behind things and despite other competitive estimates from local installers I felt Solardirect was the one I wanted to go with. Today, 5 years later, I am glad I made that decision. I unfortunately had 3 failures on the Solaredge inverter we used. It was covered by warranty and despite the miles Solaredge acquired equipment during supply chain issue periods and quickly and expertly installed it to get me back producing. My warranty included labor for 5 years and earlier in 2023 my inverter failed again for a 2nd time so I'm on my 3rd now. I was worried how much labor would be to come this far or if Solardirect would just supply hardware and not want to do the install. However, I was treated with urgency and the cost charged was extremely reasonable despite the vast distance. I can say definitively Solar Direct is a great company who stands behind what they sell and provide great service years after the sale. Many others I considered I think would have walked away to sell more systems once their labor warranty was up. Solar Direct offered and provided the best overall Solar System for my house and at the best price too. Best thing they did was they got my house to "Net Zero" and I no longer have to pay an Electric Bill, except for the nominal standard monthly hook up fee that Duke charges all of their customers. Solar Direct installed a 7.98Kw PV Power System, on my Parrish, Florida home in April of 2016. The complete engineering, permitting, installation, and connection of my system was well performed, and a rather smooth Process "turn keyed" by this excellent provider. I have monitored my system since installation with my SolarEdge Monitoring portal, and find that it has performed as originally stated, prior to purchase. I just contacted Solar Direct about my monitoring, as it was not reporting properly. They were very responsive and are addressing what should be a simple solution, at no cost to me. Hello, I have been fighting with this company for going on 4 years to get the money for my rebate for my solar water heater. At first they said they were having financial troubles and would get the money to me as soon as those were resolved. They then gave me a new person to contact, who said things were looking up and I could expect some money soon. Despite repeated calls and emails to them, I have been unable to get a response. Not a very reliable provider. I will keep updating this review but it seems like once they get your money, they don't care about their customers. Very disappointed with them. The scheduler Frank is completely incompetent. Very much regret using them. Would give them a 0* if that was available. I have owned a home for the last 20-years and have dealt with some very good and bad service providers over the last two decades. After contacting a few vendors, we settled on Solar Direct based on the positive reviews throughout the Internet. They certainly did not disappoint. tried to get parts for solar hot water heater. their site had what I wanted but they did not deliver. I was told I would have the parts the next day. 8 days later still nothing after numerous emails and phone calls. each time empty promises. tomorrow.tomorrow. tomorrow. I found the same parts at half the cost. I ordered and got tracking info within a couple hours. never again with this company. I received an email that my order has been cancelled (at my request).
