I had Solano Carpet come out and measure for new carpeting and then provide me with an estimate. I received an email which provided the breakdown of the cost and one item on list seemed a bit over inflated. They wanted to charge me $340 to move the furniture in each of the four rooms at $85 per room. This is their flat rate regardless of the amount of furniture that was in each room. I have very little furniture. I offered to move the items myself despite having neuropathy, so that I would not be charged for moving furniture. I have a large coffee table that I am unable to move myself and I asked if I would be charged to move this one item and he said it would cost $85 at their flat rate to move one piece of furniture. I told the salesperson that out of principal that I would not require their services. This company is ridiculous to work with and will not negotiate anything. I understand that they have positive reviews and the price for product and to install seems fair, but the price to move one piece of furniture is insane. Beware!!! read more

They sent George out to work with me on the quote. We had scheduled an appointment, and George was prompt, showing up 15 minutes early which I appreciated (he was waiting in his car until our negotiated time; I went out and introduced myself). George took the time to explain the differences in Carpet quality and Pad quality. After I explained to him what I was trying to do, George provided me with several recommendations that I ended up taking. 1/8/24 Recently I hired Solano Carpet to install vinyl plank flooring in my newly purchased mobile home. The floor looks absolutely beautiful, but when they went to finish the job with the trim, they used what they called quarter round. It was chunky and a very dark color, which did not match the floor at all. I complained to the installer then the owner when he came to my house. This became a battle, as they insisted I accept the quarter round; I would not because it looked horrible. I requested the flat trim, like what was used on the transition areas. I also requested all of the trim be a light color like they used in the bathroom and was flush with the shower because the installer had cut off the second rounded edge. They came out a number of times, always saying they wanted me to be happy. I kept telling them I was not happy. I sent them exact pictures of the piece at the shower, but they refused to provide that. They explained they had to use what the manufacturer provided to them. Then after waiting approximately a week and a half, the installer and the office manager showed up with a totally different trim, saying immediately this was not supposed to be used on floors, but that it was the best they could do. She was there to take pictures of the new trim color, but the original trim was 3/8" wide, and this trim was 3/4" wide. She said again she wanted me to be happy, but I told her I did not like it at all. I was totally exhausted from the move, and was tired of fighting with her, so they installed it anyway. They began with a nail gun, then glued it down. I told her it looked awful to me, and she said again that was the best that they could. I don't understand why they did not do it as I requested, as it would have been beautiful. Now I will have to find someone else to remove it, and hope the flooring isn't damaged because they glued it down. I would be ashamed to say that was my best work! I would discourage anyone who asked me if they should have your company do their floors. I voiced my concerns, and you simply ignored me. Too bad you couldn't just complete the trim as requested. read more

I love the carpet installation that I received on Tuesday. Did three bedrooms and closets. I got such a great deal. It was super fast and convenient. The whole team was so nice. Zabeta, Carlos and Alejandro were superb. If you want super quick and clean service. Theyre the one to go to. My property unit was in Bay Point and they came and installed there. I was shopping around and saw that Home Depot and Lowes were having deals too. But measuring dates were weeks out. From order, measure to installation. It was about 10 days from start to finish. Called these guys to replace my hardwood floors after having water damage. These incompetent morons installed the new floor over the wet water damaged floor instead of removing it. The floor began to buckle and separate. After coming out a few additional times to "fix" it they never got it right. They basically did a half ass install and never corrected it. I ended up going to lowes and had them install all new floors downstairs. Their installers said they has never seen such a bad install and could not believe solano carpets would float new hardwood over a wet water damaged hardwood floor. Lowes contractor was smart enough to take the old floor down to concrete and start from scratch. My new floors look beautiful and no more issues. So now I'm out thousands of dollars but I learned a valuable lesson and wouldn't trust these guys to carpet my dogs house... read more

I'll start by saying the prices and quality of work was good but that's where the positivity ends. One of the FIRST installers asked if he could use my bathroom which it turns out was not to answer mother nature, but to wash mops out in my new bathroom sink!! I tried to find another company to finish the job but no one stocked that model of flooring so I went back to Solano Carpet and made it clear that the only reason I came back is because no one else had the flooring I chose. They shaved a bit off the price and sent another team to finish the work. An hour or so into the job, one of them asked if he could use my bathroom to which I replied NO and explained that was why I fell out with the other installers. The next day I caught one of them washing out dirty rags in my kitchen sink over dishes that were in there!!!! Look, you may think this is a small thing but washing out mops in my new sink and washing rags out over my dishes in the kitchen is as unprofessional as it gets ESPECIALLY DURING THIS COVID-19 PANDEMIC!!! That said, if you use Solano Carpet be sure to tell the installers that your bathroom and all sinks are off limits to avoid the same ordeal!! read more

I recently had all the flooring in my house replaced by Solano Carpet; waterproof laminate in the kitchen, linoleum in the bathrooms and carpet everywhere else ... and my experience with Solano Carpet was absolutely marvelous! All of the people I worked with were friendly, professional and very helpful in making decisions about my flooring choices. No one tried to upsell me anything. In fact, they provided me with great advice on what kind of flooring to choose. I'm doing many of the house renovations myself and while I had considered installing the laminate flooring, I'm glad I decided to have Solano do all the flooring instead. The installation team at the house knew exactly what they were doing and worked with me to make some minor changes to the flooring layout as the work progressed. They even spent quite a while calculating the best way to cut/install the carpet so as to minimize where the seams would be. They did the work far faster than I could have done it myself and with a high degree of professionalism. The floors look great! And the overall cost was very reasonable. My husband and I were at our second stop for a price quote on new carpets for our new home, we walked into Solano Carpets and met George. He was amazing. So patient, he explained all of the differences between the padding and different types of carpets. He didn't turn his nose up at our budget but rather was happy to work within it. We brought our two young girls with us and he was so friendly and warm with them. He made us feel comfortable even though the girls were running around climbing on carpet rolls and arguing with each other.
