Not my usual stomping grounds, but I made my way to Solace Outpost in Navy Yard for a networking Happy Hour. The atmosphere was lively, and the drink selection didn't disappoint -- plenty of craft beers and other creative libations to choose from. I didn't get a chance to try the food myself, but everything coming out of the kitchen for my colleagues looked seriously good. I'll definitely be back to explore the menu.

Great vibes. Food is always delicious, though I highly suggest you order from the bartender versus using their online ordering system as it only works about 50% of the time. They have a great selection of beer. There are plenty of tvs for catching a game. Indoor outdoor seating. It can get rather crowded during sports events but I've always found standing room or a table.

    Sandwich and tots

I'm always a sucker for a good sandwich and tots. Think I had the chicken bacon sandwich with tater tots. Was very tasty. Received my food pretty quickly. Was here for a going away gathering. I'd highly recommend. This place is at the navy yard and has some amazing views. I have no complaints.

Great beer at a great location. It's convenient to several things near the stadium and Navy Yard. It's a great place to watch a game with several huge TVs. The have QR code ordering and the service is quick! I'll be back if in the area.

In searching for dog friendly breweries, this spot came up highly rated. The good: the views, outdoor area, outdoor game area and selection. The bad: pretzel came out rock hard, and took 25 mins but they were busy. Honestly they prob forgot it in the oven but things happen! When they brought out a second one, the queso was ice cold. So the food part was a fail. The bartenders imán and the guy were super nice. The chef who brought the food out was also cool. I think I would be back to try the burgers bc it was the first thing listed on the menu and looking at others plates it was appealing. I had the juice IPA and it was bomb. My partner tried an ale and really like it. They took the pretzel off the bill and told me to give them another try. I will when I'm back in town!! I'm only knocking a star off bc the pretzel we ended up giving to the dog. Oh and there's TVs outside for watching sports, nice touch.

We've been here quite a few times! It's definitely a great spot. Love the vibe, drinks and food. And kid-friendly which is always a plus. Good food menu with many options. My husband leans towards the IPAs and I always go their seltzers! In-laws were visiting so we wanted to take them to one of our favorite spots! The pretzel is by far my favorite pretzel and THE best I've had so far! And the we also love the fried chicken thighs! Pair it up with one of their small salads (still a HUGE portion!) and you have a great meal!

Great indoor and outdoor seating super close to Nat's park. Great IPAs as one would expect from Solace. Check out Lucy Juicy (8.5% ABV) Double IPA brewed with El Dorado, Mosaic, and Simcoe hops. Fruity and dank with some resin. They brew a great brown ale and also a stout as well. This location has bar style food. We were impressed with the brats. The stand out being The Bavaria: with sauerkraut, beer braised onions, mustard, and crispy bacon. The curly fries were decent, but could have been crispier. Service was excellent.

Delicious food, great beer on tap, and lots of space! The staff were friendly and prompt and didn't complain when my toddler was exploring inside. I love that they have a photo booth! It was hard to decide what to order because several dishes sounded yummy. My brother comes here a lot and shared it was some of the best brewery food and he wasn't wrong. We especially loved the fries- curly, tots, and regular. I really enjoyed the crisp pilsner, and my husband loved all the beer options. The outdoor patio is spacious and has water views.

Great new brewery down by the water near Nats Stadium. The place is all glass windows which with the sun feels amazing even if it's a little bright. It got a little chilly once the sun went down, but the drinks helped with that. Looking forward to going back with some friends.

    Watermelon Frose

We decided to stop by Solace to get a drink in the AC after a warm walk outside, and we really enjoyed our stop. They have a pretty big indoor space, as well as outdoor seating. I was most excited about the watermelon frose, the taste was delicious and it was refreshing on that hot day. We shared an order of Tot-chos, which were so good. The tots had a good amount of toppings on them and the flavors were good. The one disappointing part was that the tables had QR codes but you had to start your order at the bar. When we went to order at the bar, the two people working seemed not interesting in taking our orders. I would definitely come back to this spot next time I'm in navy yard for another order of tots.

Great night for trivia... Trivia Tuesdays! And the pretzels are great! Nice open environment, sports screen and terrific view of the Potomac Rover. Outdoor seating is available. I ordered the bunless Frenchmen burger.. although the burger meat was tasty and nicely cooked, it was awkward and messy. Customer service at the bar was excellent, staff taking care of the business!

We ordered the Mac and cheese bites but they did not have any Mac.. it was just fried cut up mozzarella sticks. Which is great.. if that's what it was called on the menu. We also ordered a fried chicken sandwich and a pub burger. The chicken sandwich was fine. The pub burger was ... meh. The pretzel bun they brought out was over toasted and looked like it was pretty dry before that. Like it was HARD. No one came to check on us after the food arrived so I had to take my plate to the check out desk to address the issue. Cait took care of it right away; I asked for just a new bun - I don't mind swapping it out myself. But in the end the burger was still just meh. Almost forgot to mention the fries .. not great. They were salted well but the fries themselves were almost chewy. When we checked out, Cait said apologized and mentioned some staffing issues. She offered to get in touch with some sort of compensation but didn't offer to waive our one beer. We left paying full price for everything. Again, fine spot if you just wanted to hang out and drink beer.

However, two Caucasian couples who came in after me were not asked to do the same. As an African American woman, the difference in treatment made me feel singled out and uncomfortable. The I am a retired Army Colonel and have always believed in treating people with dignity and respect. I expect the same in return. If this is a standard policy, it should be applied consistently to all guests. I hope you will review this matter carefully and address it appropriately so that other customers do not have a similar experience.

The bars and restaurants on the main level of this area are always packed - I don't think the masses know about this nice bar quite yet. This outdoor bar overlooks Nats stadium (you can see about 60-70% of the field ); the views are absolutely fantastic, especially on warm weather days. There are 6-10 bar seats at a long bar and another smattering of 6-8ish bar tables scattered on the rooftop. There are also some more unique lounge style seating which really makes the spot seem comfortable and relaxed. There are a couple TVs hung in the bar area which also makes this a great place to catch a football game on Sundays. Their happy hour is everyday from 4-7pm; they offer discounted beer and wine for $7-8 and select discounted cocktails for $10. The service is always quick and the bartenders are warm and friendly. There is a limited food menu, though I'd advise grabbing a bite elsewhere. I've had the food just once; my chicken tenders were pretty flavorless and had a tough texture - won't get those again. Would rather pay a little more for better quality at Nats park. I'll continue to be a frequent visitor - this is the perfect rooftop pregame spot.

We were immediately given two glasses of water while we looked over the menu. While looking over the menu and deciding what we wanted, we noticed that there were numerous people coming to stand beside and around us to order drinks and food. We also noticed that the bartenders at the bar were also serving the tables that were behind us as well. We were surprised to see that there were not waiters serving those tables. Because of this, you had people who were sitting at the tables behind us getting up and coming to the bar to order food and drinks, as well as people in general, walking up to the bar to order food and drinks. This made things very chaotic. As me and my wife were attempting to place our order, the bartenders continued to prioritize people who were coming to the bar after us. This went on for about 10 minutes. I then went to the hostess on the first floor and asked him if we could go upstairs. He said that we could go upstairs no problem, but it would be a similar situation to ordering like it was downstairs. I asked him will we be able to get a table upstairs and have a waiter instead of attempting to order food and drinks at the bar like we are doing downstairs? He told me that if we were to go upstairs we would still have to order our food and drinks at the bar. After waiting for about another five minutes and continuing to be ignored at the bar, I decided that I had enough and told my wife that we were leaving. This is a horrible concept! Having bartenders serve people at the bar is one thing. But, to also have those same bartenders serving numerous tables as well, to the point where the people who are at the tables have to come up to the bar and place their food and drink order, is madness. Especially when the bar and the whole downstairs level is packed before a Nationals game. This is very inefficient and leads to a horrible customer experience. Also, if this is going to be the concept that you go with, you will need more than just two bartenders to be able to handle that amount of traffic.
