I recently started going to this location and it's an all new nail tech team since July 2023. I followed my manicurist (Tracy) here from another salon. She's always taken excellent care of the health of my nails and I always enjoy my services. She takes her time with my services and makes sure it's exactly what I want. Since they're reopening the nail tech side, the salon is being renovated some but I would completely recommend giving them a try! If you go in July 2023, there's an amazing discount! read more

Horrible service. The woman who did my pedicure got polish all over the TOPS of my feet. And then she charged an extra $18 for gel polish (for a total of $86!), even though their menu clearly states that the gel pedicure is $58. The tops of my toes are actually burnt from being under UV lights after being wiped over and over with acetone to remove the spilled polish. The salon is clean and has a great ambiance. The place is so sheik, quiet and well maintained. I love the ambience of the place. However, I will not be going back. I scheduled a mani/pedi for my mom and I. Staff was super nice and friendly except there were only two ladies who spoke English. I showed them a picture of what I wanted my nails to look like. I literally just had them done less than 10 days ago but my mom is in town and I wanted to treat her. The pedi- for $60 a pop, it was not worth $30. My ingrown nails are still pounding and the massage chairs had a huge gap from the seat to the back. I asked for a pillow or towel but my lady didn't speak English so I never got it. She didn't cut my toenails down. The massage was mediocre at best. I didn't want the mask but got it anyway. I hate the feeling of my legs being on fire. I didn't want the hot towels either and received that. I ended up not getting any color because I was just ready to go and the chair was so uncomfortable. The mani- so I wanted gel, not SNS. But received SNS bc another lady said that in order to do what I showed her a pic of, it had to be SNS. So I agreed. But the shape or color wasn't what I wanted at all. Again, my lady didn't speak English so at this point there was no point in expressing anything. She didn't even cut my cuticles or do a decent job. Both ladies were in such a hurry to get done (the whole process took 2 hours) that the paint job was terrible and the mani wasn't even worth it. The kicker- I ran to the restroom while my husband paid. I came back and he said it was $210. WHAT?! normally I'd have no problems paying but considering I got NOTHING that I wanted, I stayed to get my 40% off new clients that was promised to me that my husband was not offered when he paid. Normally for a $200 job, I'd tip $40 per person but tipped $25 each. I would t recommend this place to my worst enemy. read more

Another stylist at a different salon destroyed my hair, but Mona saved it. She toned my hair beautifully. I was actually so happy when we were done that I cried. Mona is hilarious and bubbly. Very down to earth. (Added note: I didn't have time to stay to have my hair styled. She was kind enough to blow dry it so I could see the way the toner turned out.) Tammy did my nails (pedi and dip manicure) and they look great. She was gentle, kind, and took her time. I will be back to see her again! read more

Would not go here again for nails. I went in for a gel Mani Pedi - the pedicure was very fast, she didn't do any cuticle care, and totally skipped the leg massage. My nails look like I painted them myself. All for $100 plus tip. Totally not worth it and super bummed I spent all that money on a terrible job. read more

Current update on December 3, 2023. After my first dip nails with Vince they only "looked good" but started breaking a couple days later, and I am very careful with them. I had to go back to get them repaired & was charged $5 per mail. They fixed three nails so I ended up paying $15 plus $5 tip. Soon after all of them looked nab or were cracked so I called to get an appointment and was told by an Asian lady they didn't have any openings, like all day! I was like ok. It was a Friday morning. Tried to schedule for Saturday & was given same answer, he can only see you at 6 PM, on Saturday night? Really? Then tried to book a reservation for next week to get my nails done and a Spa Pedicure ($50 for Dip Nail's plus $60 or $70 for Pedi + Tip) and & they were just booked until January 2024? That's what their booking system said. Really? We were still on November when that happened. I called them again & same thing, I was told he was booked. The Asian lady in the phone didn't speak much English so I couldn't really understand why he couldn't see me any day or time until January 2024 so I quit on this place. Also I realized the Dip doesn't last very long because they don't put gel on top like in most places so nails brake or crack quickly. Unfortunately, I'm done with this Salon & not going back. I had a rude and unskilled person do my nails and I was in an uncomfortable position while she was doing my pedicure. Uncomfortable: She had my hands in a wet towel on the table and my legs under the table with my feet on her knees. So I couldn't bend my knees bc the table and I couldn't lean back because she was soaking my hands. Eventually my back hurt from how I was placed, so I took my hand off the table and awkwardly just hovered my arms out. Unskilled. After all that pain and the pedi still came out like sh!t. See pictures attached (I only show one toe but four of my toenails were like this). I did not want to be in the uncomfortable position again so I didn't request to redo it. Regardless, my toenails were not done properly and carelessly painted with missed corners. Then, they tactlessly put on a second coat trying to cover it up. Rude. While doing my nails. told her that one of my nails had a bubble in it and she told me she didn't see it and just went over it with color again. She hits one my other middle finger and tries to fix it by just painting over that one too. Then after the next coat another giant bubble pops up along with the one I told her about. After mentioning it again, she finally erases it and does it again. (I have more instances of her rudeness which I might add later.) Stressful and bad results. Then after the final coat. She told me she used the wrong top coat. She brings out a different top coat and puts it on my two of my fingers saying oh this one will make it shinier. I just wanted to gtfo, so I told her the first coat is fine. The two fingers she put a coat on actually caused a reaction and a bunch of mini bubbles everywhere. And of course I didn't notice it until I left. (Maybe it was her revenge for making her redo those two nails because she really was pushing it on me??) I'm super annoyed bc I need to waste more time and money. read more

Was looking forward to a deep tissue massage, manicure and pedicure. I got all of it but substandard. The massage was not at all a deep tissue massage. I would have gotten a better massage from my 4yr old. She massage one area of my body then forget the other side. They ask you to complete a form at the beginning, but I guess she never looked at it either. My manicure and pedicure was mediocre. It was pricey and totally not worth it. I wasn't going to give it a review, but the more I think about it and see my pedicure and manicure the more I get upset. I wouldn't recommend this place. Spa is the right word for this place! The place is gorgeous. And the service is above and beyond! They make the atmosphere warm and welcoming! My nails were super botched and I stumbled into Solace where Lynn rescued me! She dealt with my unrealistic expectations and crazy ocd, but made everything PERFECT. Lynn should have her own shop she is that good. I had a nice glass of wine while getting them done, and had wonderful conversation! I look forward to coming here for more fun nail designs. I moved to Sterling, VA 2 years ago and needed to find a salon specialist to cut and color my hair I was quite nervous since I had been going to the same salon for over 9 years but it was no longer convenient. I made a call to Solace and made my appointment with Mona. The rest is history. Mona is fantastic as cuts, color, highlights, lowlights and treatments, she's a pro. I went for a pedicure and sns manicure. I get pedicures frequently because my big toes get sore from ingrown toenails. During my pedicure, I told the tech my toes were sore and asked for a cut down. There was a language barrier so I just let it go. Then I noticed she wasn't cutting any of the skin from around my toes and neglected the massage- these are the primary reasons I pay to get pedicures. I can paint my toes myself but appreciate the foot relief. The cleaning/pedicure portion lasted about 10 minutes and the polish application 15. While I was sitting there, I contemplated leaving because I figured the manicure would be similar. Against my better judgement, I stayed. I didn't even get a manicure- no hand soaking, no under nail cleaning (I had soil visibly under my nails from planting flowers), no cuticle work. Nothing. Just a crooked file and sns dipping powder. I felt robbed paying $88 for this experience but I also didn't know what to do in the moment- I am posting hoping someone reaches out. read more

My friend and I came in on 11/30/2019 at around 3. I wanted to get my nails and toes done before my birthday party. We were helped quickly as there was no one else in the salon, it was not busy at all, on a Saturday. Although there was no one in the building except us, we felt as if we were being rushed to pick colors and sit down. We both got a spa pedicure which was nice, but a woman who was not performing our services, convinced me to change what I wanted, being very pushy, without telling me how much she would up charge me. When it was time to get our nails done, I felt incredibly nervous about the way the gel was being applied and asked multiple times about it with no answer. My friends nails were fine but are now starting to chip at 1 week. When we went to pay, literally every staff member came up to the front and started to argue with each other about pricing... being incredibly unprofessional. Until the woman who convinced me to change what I originally wanted, came up, told the others the price and charged us. It came out to about $400 after we tipped! Insane for two pedicures, a fill, and a full set. The SAME day my nails started breaking off... not even breaking, just popping off my fingers, whole. I've honestly had better luck with press-ons. One week later, I have no nails that lasted. $72 set and not one lasted the first two days. The drive from WV to NOVA to get quality nails was a complete fail. To add to the suffering, we were charged extra for "extra long nails" our shape, and more. Which is absolute crap. One, our nails were not extra long as I have photos. No where on your site do you have extra fees like this. And when comparing online prices and the items on our receipt are different. We were charged $5 more on multiple services. Unfortunately this place is shady and I will not be going back. I wish I could at least get a refund on my nails that completely fell off. We won't be going back, as we are way too nervous to possibly be taken advantage of again. I took plenty of screenshots of the site in correlation to our receipt just in case it gets changed to discredit my review. Edit: We are both in the beauty industry and it is completely disrespectful and unprofessional to your clients to treat them this way. Stopped by because I was in the area and I'm a regular at the Alexandria location. Needed a last minute wax. This place wasn't as clean as I'd like it to be nor was the person doing my Brazilian wax. I get waxed regularly but this was the most painful wax I've received in a very long time and the wax job was not clean. I also had to request the back strip be done even though it should be included in the Brazilian wax. Was not worth the $65 charge and I would not return for a wax. Upon entering this spa, it is beautiful and I will not deny that. When I came in it was not busy at all and I seemed to be one of only a few customers. I went through their menu and chose to have nail extensions done, have a manicure and a pedicure. The initial experience was relaxing and nice, my technician was new but he was good. However, when it came to the nail extensions, he mentioned a gel overlay which I said sounded like a good idea, he never did it. Also, I never received my spa manicure package either. I didn't want to assume that because a large group of women came in during my nail extension, that is why my service declined and it seemed like my manicurist was rushed but, unfortunately that is the case. read more

My wife had a chance to use the available funds and she had a great experience! OLD Review: Bought a gift card for my wife here for 250.00 -- came in a nice gift bag and everything. She waited awhile and so we considered regifting it. Before I did though I wanted to verify the amount on the card... Zero dollars. I worked with the company for weeks at two separate locations and was given a runaround... I even printed my bank transaction statement showing the 250.00 charge, and although management agreed something weird happened, they could not verify how the money was spent or give me a new card. I can't take them to small claims court because they confiscated the card when they were investigating and never returned it. Bottom line: This company stole 250.00$ from me. read more

The place is beautiful and clean, and professional looking. However, the receptionists really need to slow down. You come to a spa to relax, not be frantic. You just get a sense that the receptionist is trying to check you in and out, even if you're the only one in there. The nail tech is nice in starting conversation but sometimes i found myself receiving some backhanded comments and the talking in native language made me feel like i was being insulted behind my back. I just find that rude. I dont go into a service and speak my native language with my friends while making snarky comments in English. The place is beautiful but the service they provide is just okay. I came here last month as a birthday treat from my boyfriend. I got the whole treatment -- hair, nails, and massage. The day started w/ nails. I got a chocolate pedicure w/ HEIDI. She is young and youthful, very chatty and friendly. She gave me an amazing rub down on my calves and made my toes look super cute -- they are still looking great and it has literally been a month. She also removed my calluses without using a razor. They don't use razors here and at first I thought it wasn't going to work, but it did. They were smooth for 2 weeks or more, which on my feet is a great thing! HEIDI was terrific for chatting with and making you looking gorgeous! Another great nail professional was JOLIE. I did not have her do my nails, but she was doing the lady next to me and she seemed to be doing a great job. Next I got my hair highlighted with MONA. She is this wonderful young mother who just knew exactly what I wanted. She gave me three sets of highlight colors, one of which was bright pink. She also added a scalp cream when washing my hair. She is very friendly and kind of like you best girlfriend who knows how to make your hair look awesome. She took total care of me. Making me feel so special and pretty and I left feeling and looking like a million bucks. My bright pink is still gorgeous a month later!!! I would definitely recommend MONA to do your hair. She gives a young, youthful look and is totally up to trying fun colors and styles. Not like some places where they won't give you what you want because it is a "weird" color. After MONA finished the color and did a basic dry. I got a aromatherapy massage with JOLIE. JOLIE was sooo sweet. She is like a sweet motherly type who took total care of my entire body. She even prayed for me while giving me the massage which i thought was so sweet. If you believe or not, it was so sweet to have someone try to take care of you in so many ways -- physically and spiritually. She had an amazing touch and left me feeling like a blob of jello. I'm pretty sure I got so relaxing that I might have drooled a little with my face down. I was just so comfortable and relaxed. When she finsihed, I felt so tranquil. I have had a lot of EXTREME STRESS lately and JOLIE helped me release ALL THE TENSION. She was so sweet and caring. I cannot wait til I can see her again!! After Jolie was finished, i went back to Mona to finish my hair and leave. She washed out the oils from the massage and dried and styled my hair. I left feeling so cute and relaxed. All in all these three ladies are AMAZING!! Each was so different and unique, but all three made my day just PERFECT! They were like your best friends or mom taking care of you. If I could give the spa a - star I would. After getting my nails done Christmas Eve . LYNN nail technician. The first nail broke while opening the refrigerator popped off. ( same night]. The next day while working the second one popped off in the kitchen while getting coffee. By the next evening my middle finger was shipped at the corner of the nail bed. I returned to the spa the next day, the day after Christmas to explain what happened and request to Repair. Sitting down in the chair explaining to Liynn that she filed my nails way too thin. She said I'll fix them for you but only the ones that broke. After explaining to her that my nails were way too thin she explained to me she was going to charge me additional money for repairing all of my nails. Telling me that only thing she did was fill the bottom portion of my nail. I said to her yes that is true however you file the attire nail. And yes she did take the acrylic out to the tip requiring her to file that as well. $ 30 dollars for a fill and cut down. Please take note return only half of the money that I paid. I being a professional woman. Have gone online to now warn other women of the poor quality of their work. In addition understanding that it was Christmas Eve didn't quite understand why the staff was drinking in the salon. That might have been the reason for the poor workmanship. Very immature unprofessional staff! PS. I was told I can't tip on my dept card they only take cash. The blessings about an Uncle that works for the IRS is I can see an audit in their future. read more

I wanted to write a review, because i have been faithfully going to Solace for almost as long as it has been open. My initial trip was for my first ever bikini wax. I was terrified to say the least, but it wasnt an unpleasant experiance. The spa manager was the person that did the waxing and she was very nice and gentle, especially once i told her it was my first time. My mother and I get pedicures every two weeks like clockwork, and back in March when we already had "our salon" we only went to that place. Because of the atmosphere we decided that we would give Solace a chance. Now, I cant see myself going anywhere else. I get my toes done by Heidi and I absolutely love her. She does my designs and she hasn't replicated a design yet. She is AWESOME. My mother usually has a woman named Jenny and she does a good job as well. The best part of the experience is the leg massage. Usually when getting a pedicure, the person working on you gives you a short two minute leg rub down... not this place! They actually massage your feet and legs for a good amount of time, and this is just with the express pedicure. As far as price, they are pretty fair, our old place charged about $25 for a regular pedicure, and Solace's lowest price is $28, however they have had 25% off promotion running since they have opened, making their pedicures $21. You cant beat it. I also got a massage for my birthday on April 18, and Heidi was my masseuse. I was in heaven. Im not sure what happened with the other persons massage, but my table was sterdy, my room was warm, and my oil was the perfect temp. I had a signature healing massage for 90min. The massage area is just as tranquil as the rest of the building and you are completely seperated from the pedicure and salon area, which is nice. Again, with the promotion, I got a 90 minute massage for $90. I LOVE THIS PLACE, I would totally recommend them to everyone, and with the promotion going on it is at least worth a try. read more
