This is a really good pizza place. It's consistently good. The sauce, the toppings, the crust, all are good. I've only had the hand-tossed crust, but it's very good. They're worth taking a little bit of a drive for, too, if you don't happen to live super close to them. I would say they are one of my top 3 pizza places in the general Akron/Canton area. This evening we tried SOL Pie for the first time. We've hesitated because we have a lot in our family and look for a balance between taste and deal. Well tonight we were wowed. We ordered the Artisan Veggie with light cheese...the perfect pizza to drink with wine. The dough was not dense like typical pizza. I actually slowed down and enjoyed the taste, without eating the typical number of pieces. Outstanding food! Holds up to any pizza I've had from anywhere in the world. Our pesto styled pizza was drenched in olive oil with moist chicken, perfectly cooked mushrooms and all ingredients exploding with flavor. Ordered 2 Caesar salads for delivery tonight, One had chicken and one had steak. They delivered quicker than they quoted which is always nice!! The salad looked beautiful but there was way too much Parmesan/Romano cheese. We enjoyed the salads very much. We love Sol Pie Pizza. read more

In from out of town this place was the best reviewed, and closest to our hotel. Ordered a sheet pizza, and was told delivery would be around 20 minutes. A little shocked it would be that fast we should have known better. After 40 minutes wife called to see where our pizza was. Manager told her he had new people on and they should have told us 35-45 minutes. No problem seeing it already had been 40 minutes he assured us the pizza had just left the building. An hour later the pizza finally showed up (it was only a mile away from hotel) in a standard pizza bag. Lukewarm and the cheese was hardly melted. The only reason I gave a two star rating was because it had a really good crust and sauce. Told the driver the tip was on his boss because of how late it showed up. I love this place. I've been eating what they now call the Legendary sub since it was called the Ermannos Sub back in their shop in Louisville. It's been a family staple. Their new incarnation Sol Pie is great. I've gotten a few guys at work hooked on these subs and we used to order about once a week. But rarely could they deliver on time. Maybe once. So ordering has cut back. Today really got to me when after spending 8 minutes ordering two subs, asking specifically if they could deliver by 1130, they were delivered 20 minutes late, the driver couldn't even say, "hey sorry we were late". $24 to deliver two subs and have them be 20 minutes late isn't acceptable. I love the food and the people I've spoken too there are super nice. But too many times I've been burned by a failure in their delivery system. read more

The pizza is fantastic. You can tell that the ingredients are high quality. The have many topping options and always have very interesting monthly speciality pizzas. Some end up being so good they stick around long after the month. The Jalepeno Popper Pie is AMAZING! Candied Jalapenos, Bacon and a raspberry reduction sauce... so so good. My family has been ordering from SOL Pie (and the previous owners of the same location) for the last 4-5 years. We've experienced good pizza (for the area) at a reasonable price and decent customer service. However, our last experience with SOL will be our last. We ordered a full sheet pizza 6 hours in advance on a Saturday - 40 minutes after our promised delivery time arrives, we are told that our order was bumped in favor of a large order from the North Canton YMCA. Not only was our order an hour plus late, the promised 'coupons' as a mea culpa were not offered when it was delivered. I really like what's going on at SOL Pie Pizza. Fresh, local, high quality ingredients in their product at a reasonable price. Their "Daydreamer" artisan pizza, which is described on the menu as the "4th best pizza in the Midwest" is a symphony of flavors that combine to make music in your mouth. If "artisan style" pizza doesn't float your boat, and you prefer your pie to be more simple in it's construction, you cannot go wrong with a simple pepperoni and sausage pizza, either. They do have daily specials if you check their website and Facebook pages, too. I live in Canal Fulton, where the ratio of pizza shops to citizens is 2:1 (well....maybe not that extreme) and will make the extra drive to SOL. Yes, it's worth it! read more

I've been eating the legendary sub from Ermannos, now Sol Pie, for close to 30 years. Growing up in Louisville it was common for us to order pizza and subs. Luckily when we moved to North Canton there was an Ermannos shop. Lately I've gotten a couple guys hooked on the legendary subs and we order them at least once a week. The secret sauce is amazing. The entire staff is so nice and friendly on the phone and in the shop. No disappointments in any of the artisan pizzas I've tried either. Yes, others have many more accompaniments but they do not compare to the creative spin and authenticity that Ermanno's has put forth. Hidden gem in a strip mall. Amazing food and company beliefs. Local, organic and delicious. We stopped by looking for something different but craving pizza and we were not disappointed. Small area to order and dine in, which we did. But the real highlight was the food. We tried a slew of things including the organic red potato wedges that were more like jojos than anything and fabulous, cheesy bread (another hit), then the Daydreamer pizza (!!!), and the buffalo chicken grilled cheese sandwich. First, I will say that the pizza we ordered was very good. I'm thankful that they offer a vegan cheese and some organic toppings. That said, it would have been a much nicer experience if we hadn't had to wait for an hour for it to reach our table. One hour! Meanwhile, quite a few people were coming and going, presumably having called orders in to go. We asked the last customer how long before that he'd called for his order and it had been 40 minutes. So his order went in 20 minutes after ours; yet, he walked out with his pizzas first. I inquired after waiting 45 minutes and was told it should just be a few more minutes. Ten more minutes having elapsed, I told them to just put the pizzas in boxes to go, because I was out of time and almost late for work. So my pizza was lukewarm when I finally got to work where I ate it at my desk. Not the experience I had hoped for on my first (and probably only) visit to this restaurant. I'll be honest, when I first heard about organic food, I associated it with health food, which I then associated with bad tasting food. I heard amazing things about SOL Pie Pizza. After giving it a try, I found, by far, not only the best pizza I've ever tried, but some of the best food, period. Organic just means they use natural products and natural flavors, excluding using any preservatives, GMOs, MSG etc. I tried the Daydreamer pizza. It's seriously one of the best things I've ever eaten. I also tried some of their other items, such a a regular red sauce pizza. Above and beyond in quality and taste. And not filled with garbage. I can feed this to my family without feeling guilty. Aside from the food, the atmosphere is wonderful. There is some decent seating area for those who choose to dine it. The artwork and overall setup is beautiful and unique. The owners of this company are two of the greatest people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. I heard so many good things about this place, I'm very disappointed. I'll start with the good though, we ordered an artisan pizza for pick up and it was really good. But for lunch one day I ordered a sub sandwich and fries for delivery. The guy said delivery was 45 minutes. No problem. An hour and a half later, no delivery. I called and asked, they said they had to restart their oven but delivery was on its way. No "I'm sorry". Sandwich finally came, it was cold, bread was hard and the ratio of bread to meat was totally unfair. The "fries" were about 5 homemade potato chips. Those were really good but I wish they had been warm. Subway could have made me a better sandwich. $11.99 later I'm not pleased. read more
