When I want my Caribbean fix I always come here !!! Never disappoints! Great food , great service and good people!! I definitely recommend!!

Whenever we're craving Cuban food we end up here. Their always so nice and the food is consistently delicious. The restaurant is located in a little business strip and there is parking available right in front. When it's busy you may need to park a bit further down. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner options and they're all delicious. On our latest visit we enjoyed shredded beef omelette, tostones rellenos, papa rellena, and a Cuban sandwich, along with flan for dessert and it was all delicious. I recommend sharing so you can try more of the menu. The Cuban sandwich is our favorite, but we like to split it and share a new to us dish. It's always freshly cooked and flavorful, and ask for their hot sauce if you'd like an extra kick. The flan is also a great way to end the meal. It's not too sweet and also a nice sharable slice.

First time here thanks to a friend inviting me here for lunch. It was amazing ! Every bite ! I can't tell you enough how amazingly tasty and different the oxtail was compared to other places. The service and staff were amazing. The place is cozy, clean and gets so busy. I wish I knew of this place many years ago ! I'm pretty sure I've passed it a few times. I ate the beef empanadas, the beef and potato stew and oxtail with a side of plantains. Everything had its own unique flavors. I can't wait to visit this place again. 10/10 would recommend.

Vaca frita, moros y cristianos, and side salad

This is my second time coming to Sol Cubano--both times were takeout, and both times were delicious. Tucked into a cramped shopping center, the inside is cozy, and while the space is small, the flavors are anything but. The first time I came here, I ordered lechón asado with moros y cristianos and a beef empanada. Worth every penny. You also get a simple side salad, which is a nice touch. The lechón asado was great, even though I'm not a huge pork eater, but the real standout? The empanada. This time, I went for vaca frita, again with moros y cristianos and a beef empanada. I also got greedy and ordered two papa rellenas--they're cheap and can be ordered individually, so why not? It's too tempting when you see all of the beautiful pastries sitting behind the glass of their small but glorious case. The vaca frita was addicting to eat. I enjoyed the texture of the stringy, somewhat dry beef contrasted with the tender onions and that hit of acidity from the lime juice. On paper, it might not sound like much, but the flavors and textures work well together, especially with the beans and rice. Once again, the empanada was fantastic--juicy, well-seasoned beef inside a crispy shell. As for the papa rellenas, I had never tried this dish before and didn't quite know what to expect. Not my personal favorite, but I can see why people love them. Again, the side salad was clutch--it's fresh, lightly dressed (I think with olive oil and lemon juice?), and a great way to cut through all of the rich, fatty red meat. I always look forward to coming here on my lunch breaks. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, and the first time I came in, they helped me decide what to order since I had limited knowledge of Cuban cuisine. Can't wait to come back and order an absurd amount of pastries.

    Cubano sandwich and cortadito.

Been wanting to try this restaurant since traveling in Southern Florida years ago. Was disappointed to see it empty at lunch but it was early on Good Friday, so that might be why. I had the Cubano, a cortadito and flan. I was served by a very kind gentleman who I assume was the owner. The sandwich was perfect an s the flan was sublime. The coffee kept me going for the rest of the afternoon (IYKYK). Looking forward to coming back with more people to try more things on the menu!

Food was hot and fast. I ordered Lechon asado with Cuba rice and 2 empanadas. The pork was moist and complimented the Cuban rice. Empanadas was so delicious filled with meat. Service was excellent.

I love this place! The beef dishes are so good but you cannot not try the potato balls and the plantain bananas. Service is great!

The croquetas were not as much of a success.

I haven't been here in quite a while, and I had an appointment at the McClellan VA, so I decided to stop in for lunch. I am glad they were open. Right now, They are open for lunch and dinner, Wednesday through Saturday, and then closed Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. I always enjoy the place, it doesn't look like much from the outside, but it has a nice atmosphere of a tropical restaurant on the inside. I decided to start with the croquetas. Basically, ham croquettes. The order comes with six, which was too much for me, so they were nice enough to do a half order for me. They came with a very good dipping sauce, which had the texture and flavor of "fry sauce". If you don't know what fry sauce is, the basic ingredients are ketchup and mayonnaise,, and then you can go on and add other ingredients from there. The croquetas tasted good, but for me, they were a bit too gummy in the middle. I don't know if that's supposed to be the texture or they weren't cooked enough, but they were not a success for me. Next time I would probably just order the plantains, which I know are good. The traditional Cubano, or Cuban sandwich, however, was a home run. Pork, ham, cheese, pickles, and mustard, on a pressed Cuban bun. Wonderfully crispy, and the flavors just melded so well together. I love a good Cubano, and this one is very good. The price of the meal with soda and tip was very reasonable. I left full and Happy . I will continue to come back. Thank you.

We were out on a business appointment and heading back home and decided to see what was different in the area and came across this place. The lady and gentleman here were so welcoming and friendly and everything looked and smelled so good. We decided to try a sample platter along with a few other things and just share. I love plantains so the this was a real treat for me. The meats were so juicy and flavorful in all the items. If you want a change to your routine this place is a good place to start. We both left full and happy and will be back again! They have some cool decor and it's so happy and bright in here too.

The ambience was pretty tranquil, and the server was very accommodative. For my beverage, I enjoyed the guava juice. For my appetizers, I had two delicious beef empanadas, which were well-flavored and cooked perfectly. For my main entrée, I had the goat soup with plantains and Cuban rice. The goat soup was off the chain, and the Cuban rice was fantabulous. The plantains had the perfect level of sweetness. I highly recommend this wonderful establishment for anyone looking to enjoy fine Cuban cuisine.

It's definitely…read morea cozy spot -- the interior is pretty small with limited seating, and you order at the counter when you walk in. Luckily the weather was perfect the day we went, so we grabbed a table outside and it ended up being the ideal way to enjoy the meal. We started with a Cuban café with condensed milk, and it was incredible. The coffee was bold and rich like a good Cuban espresso should be, and the condensed milk added the perfect amount of sweetness and creaminess. It was smooth, strong, and honestly one of the best cups of coffee I've had in a while. For food, she ordered the chilaquiles and I ordered the ropa vieja plate, and we also added an order of papa rellenas to share. The chilaquiles were easily the star of the show. The chips were perfectly coated in sauce without being soggy, and the sauce itself had a really unique flavor compared to the traditional chilaquiles I'm used to. It had a deeper, richer taste with just the right balance of spice and tang. Every bite was packed with flavor and it felt like a really thoughtful twist on the dish. The ropa vieja was just as impressive. The shredded beef was incredibly tender and flavorful, clearly slow-cooked because it just fell apart with each bite. The seasoning was spot on -- savory, slightly tomatoey, and really comforting. It came with black beans and rice, and even though I'm usually not a big fan of black beans, these were excellent. They had a lot of flavor and a great texture, not watery or bland like they sometimes can be. The only thing that didn't quite land for me was the papa rellenas. They were well made, but I was expecting something with more of an empanada-like texture or a crispier outer bite. Instead, it was much more potato-forward, which made it a little heavier than I was hoping for. Service was amazing! Kind friendly staff Overall though, the food was flavorful, the coffee was amazing, and the relaxed outdoor seating made it a really enjoyable meal. Definitely a spot worth checking out if you're in the area.

With authentic flavors and food items, there's not many like it around town. Bodega serves up food from the Caribbean Islands. One of their most popular dishes is their jerk chicken. They have this both as a chicken wing appetizer and as a plated dinner. I personally really enjoy white meat when it comes to chicken and the dinner plate was leg and thigh so I opted to go with the wing appetizer. My only complaint about it was its size. I thought it could have had more wings as I thoroughly enjoyed each one with the jerk sauce I added to it. The wings were very crisp on the outside and full of flavor. Adding the jerk sauce or their house made hot sauces enhanced the flavor even more. I could really see myself coming just for these wings! I also had the Cubano sandwich. This hot, pressed sandwich has ham, cheese, pickles, and mustard. It's a popular item that also is bursting with flavor. The combination of all the ingredients was mouthwatering. It comes with a side of fries to round out the meal. Service at Bodega was very nice. We found the servers to be very patient with us and the food came out reasonably. I was specifically there for a birthday party where we had cake being served from outside the restaurant. Bodega has a cake cutting charge, but seeing our tiny cake they waived it for us! It's a cute restaurant and definitely different than many you will find around Sacramento. If you're in the pocket area, Bodega is well worth a visit!

We ordered the plantain nachos, jerk chicken, guava shrimp, and pineapple upside down cake. Our party ordered margaritas, which they said was on the stronger side.
