We cannot say enough great things about Nika and the Soiree Key West team! My husband and I are both from New Jersey, and we decided we wanted a destination wedding. We attended a wedding 2 years earlier in Key West for great friends of ours at Ocean Key, and had the most memorable weekend. We knew we couldn't go wrong choosing Key West for our special day, but we also knew we would need a lot of help to make it happen. Our friends sent us their referrals, and Nika was at the top of their list. Our initial call with Nika is what sold us on hiring her for the job. Nika spent over an hour on the phone with us detailing all of our options, and providing thorough information on the island, venues, hotels, vendors, etc., and she spent that time without a contract signed, or commitment from us. Nika provided so much valuable insight, and didn't sell us anything or push us in a particular direction. It was clear she didn't any sort of agenda, and that is the kind of person we wanted to work with. We hired her for full time service, and spent a year and a half planning an elaborate 180 person Old Hollywood Black and White Wedding on the Sunset Pier. We planned a full weekend for our guests which included a Welcome Party, Wedding, and After Party. We combed through the lists of vendors, scheduled meetings and calls, and selected our venue, food, photographer, videographer, florist, band, hair and makeup team, etc. Nika kept us organized with payment due dates and follow ups, and organized a weekend for us to come down to Key West and meet with our vendors, taste cake, take engagement pictures, etc. She was there every step of the way to ensure we checked every box, and had every action item addressed and taken care of. We were even able to ship reception items, bridesmaid/groomsmen gifts, and anything we needed for the wedding directly to her house, and she delivered everything to us when we arrived. My old coordinator dropped me about 12 days before my wedding without a plan- I contacted Soiree Key West for assistance for day-of coordination, and they were SO incredibly helpful. Fantastic communication styles and very organized. Jhael was our day-of coordinator and was FANTASTIC! My wedding was at the Old Town Manor and she made the day look perfect. HORRIBLE.... Hired them for my "day of" planner. Unfortunately my "day of" did not happen because of Covid-19. Key West was closed down. This company did absolutely nothing for me but felt entitled to keep 100% of my deposit during a National Pandemic. I found all my own vendors and came to a satisfactory resolution with each and every one of them except these people. Would not even return my emails. Weddings are expensive and stressful enough without a Pandemic. No need for an entitled company to exploit the situation. Actions during adversity show true colors. DO NOT HIRE. Nika was outstanding and went above and beyond to make sure our wedding day ran smoothly. Everything was coordinated thoroughly and very detailed. I highly recommend Soirée events. Nika kept calm when chaos was everywhere, just due to the calamity that happens during every wedding day. My wedding recently had to be rescheduled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. What could have been an extremely difficult and stressful time turned out to be quite seamless. We had a wedding where the logistics of a boat, ceremony, and reception were all at different locations and it was pulled off like everything was in one spot. I should start this review with a little explanation of my wedding requests - I live in San Francisco and my new husband and I have loved Key West for years, visiting on vacations before we moved across the country. I needed someone local who could guide me in regards to quality vendors, and then also get everything lined up on the Big Day. I am a corporate meeting planner myself, so I was not worried about doing all of the contracts, negotiations, and planning, but no bride needs to be talking and answering vendor questions about which linen goes where on her wedding day. I knew I needed someone to just handle the details as we got close to the wedding day. Nika was my answer. We spoke over the phone, I explained my expectations, and she was very receptive and didn't try to sell me on more services or scare me into thinking that I couldn't manage a destination wedding from afar. She and I agreed to meet for lunch and get to know each other when I was in KW next to do site visits of venues. We met at one of the locations I was considering, and she showed me around the property, and after discussing the venue, had lunch and got to know each other. I appreciate that she took the time to get to know me, understand my needs, and also guided me for the rest of the trip. We agreed that I would use her for "day-of coordination" services. I put that in quotes bc it actually starts about 6 weeks out so she can contact all my vendors, create a timeline, etc. I appreciated that she wasn't keeping tabs on how many emails or questions I asked over the course of several months of planning, as if that was going above and beyond the day-of services. Don't get me wrong, I don't know how others will perceive that or take advantage and try to send her 10 million emails (don't), but my emails typically just kept her looped in on what we were thinking and then got her professional opinion. She was so helpful and courteous in her responses over the planning stage, even though I was the one actually making all the arrangements and her assistance was not contracted or required, it was out of genuine kindness. As time got closer, she was very thorough, following up when she said she would, extending deadlines over the holidays when my mind was elsewhere, and just genuinely being the most professional and understanding coordinator. When I was behind deadline and she really needed something, she was upfront with what she was working with, but never in an aggressive or pushy way. When it was wedding week, she had a very "we'll get it done" attitude. I checked in to my vacation rental only to see that there was practically no natural light in the room... so had to change my getting-ready location.... Nika was on it. Notifying my hair and makeup ladies, and also the photographer as he was coming to take the before shots. This was the kind of thing that was worth every penny. I didn't have to make a million phone calls, follow up with anyone. Nika was my person to just handle the pop-up stuff. She even calmed my nerves when I saw two giant cruise ships blocking MY sunset the night before the wedding exactly where our sunset photos were supposed to be taken the next day. It was such a relief having someone so ingrained in the happenings of the island, that she actually knew the cruise ship schedules and could ease my mind and tell me that they leave every night before sunset. I would have lost sleep, as silly as it sounds! I really can't thank Nika enough, and would definitely recommend her services for day-of coordination. It was a flat rate, and absolutely worth every penny. She knows the island, everyone in hospitality, she knows weddings, and she is a bit of a therapist when you start to lose your mind right before the wedding! I loved that when I told vendors, "I'm working with Nika" they A) knew Nika, I didn't have to say Soiree KW, and B) every one of them sang her praise. I sent Nika a message in my first month of being engaged and it was definitely my best step in my wedding planning. She was so friendly, helpful, and approachable right from the start. She had suggestion after suggestion for me and acted quickly anytime a roadblock popped up. She made my wedding planning so stress free and saved me hours of research and a bunch of money. Not to mention that the day of was completely stress free and I had nobody coming to me for last minute problems or questions, she handled everything and I got to fully immerse myself in my wedding day. Be very weary before using her services. She overcharges for items so you really need to scrutinize her receipt. She broke her own contract for my best friend's wedding and then withheld her money. All this was done because my friend became suspicious of some of the charges on her invoice. My friend decided to contact some of the businesses this lady works with and found out that she was marking up items at least by 50%-75% of what the actual cost was. She even tried to charge my friend $45 for a case of water that costs $12. When my friend questioned her about the prices she became upset. Her lawyer is no refusing to return my friends money. She broke the contract 6 weeks out from my friend's wedding date which is done nothing but caused her great stress. This lady also contacted some of the vendors in Key West and told them not to work with my friend. She's very malicious. read more

After we decided on a destination wedding in the FL keys our next call was to Nika at Soiree Key West! From our inital conversation we were a great match and quickly planned a trip to check out venues. After describing to Nika what we were looking to create she suggested and arranged tours of several venues in our price range during out inital visit. Nika seamlessly arranged our contracts with the resort and all our vendors. Every vendor she suggested was great, her knowledge as a premier wedding planner and a native to KW came in handy on more then one occasion. She was able to create our wedding vision and bring it to life! As one of the first wedding in KW post hurricane Irma in early December, I was nervous. Needless to say Nika kept me calm and pulled everything off perfectly. Not only did we have an amazing wedding evening involving many moving pieces (beach ceremony, sunset cruise and reception) but she helped plan our welcome party and a brunch following the day after. Know before you sign a contract. She cancelled the contract within 60 days of the wedding even thou the contract states neither party can. Soiree Wedding and Planning Services charges for services she is not able to provide. She advertises a stress free wedding with unlimited phone calls and emails. Dealing with Soiree has been nothing but stress. My daughter explained the service she desired and purchased the package Soiree recommended. After numerous attempts of trying to communicate with her (both by phone and email) she does not respond. She never offers an apology for not communicating just excuses of 'it is the busiest time of the year and she has no assistant'. Even thou the contract states an assistant is included she admits to not having one. Once confronted with the contents of the contract her response is 'it is her contract and she can do what she wants to do. She does not have to conform to her contract'. After suggesting that maybe she should limit the number of weddings she accepts she got extremely irate. She prevents the bad reviews by canceling your contract and with holding 20% of the money as hostage and agree to return 1/2 of that providing you sign an agreement to no negative postings. read more
