so so so cute. love my new hair! so professional and friendly. Extremely talented girls!

I have been a client of Salon Soho since 1996 and would never think of going anywhere else. Not sure why it took me so long to review them?!? They just moved from their original Sherway Gardens location across the street in the plaza with Sears Home and Red Lobster. I am so glad I won't have to deal with mall parking during the holidays anymore!! Love the new space, tons of natural light and good ventilation. My stylist is Robbie and is beyond awesome. He always listens to what I want and makes helpful suggestions to ensure the perfect do every time. Make sure you ask for him! ;) Both men and women are welcome. Kids are welcome here too, one of my younger brothers had been going here since he was a toddler (and he has an appointment for later today!). Overall, this is a great salon option with awesome customer service - a perfect place to get beautified! read more

Always a terrific haircut, I've had James cutting my hair every month for years. I think he knows/understands it better than I do! :))

For the people who just want the review: Service: just one of those hit-or-miss salons ( my highlights were nice, cut was a horror story, my mom likes the salon, sister thinks it's shit). They make you blow dry/style yourself or else you need to pay for a whole service even though the price suggests otherwise. Ambiance: In a plaza, You can tell they're doing their most to look like it's actually in SoHo but look a lil bootleg. It's pretty much all Browns-Line parents in there so I guess that's who they try to cater to. They give you tea lol so that good. Advice: go at your own risk, it could be good enough or completely shit. Olinda can do you a good colour job. Owner has scammer mentality. Not a superior choice. I played my self by going even after reading a shit review b/c I was vacationing the next day and everywhere else was booked This is their issue, I simply wanted to get my extensions blended to my hair but with my luck, the stylist cut my natural hair almost 3 inches shorter in a blunt cut and whisped the extensions out so much that the last two inches basically disappeared. It blended even less.. and she cut off like 50 grams... Now, while complaining, the owner just said it was communication problem on repeat, legitimately sounded like an automated message. I asked for compensation b/c it was pre-paid. Having 0 professionalism again, he told me he'll follow up but never did even after calls and countless emails, he just said the same thing he said at the salon. Now thinking about it, this was all because the services were pre-paid. Mentality of a scammer. Slick scammer skills tho can't lie. read more

I was able to get a last minute appointment with Holly on a Saturday. I was nervous to come in as I wanted to ensure that I had a cut that would flatter my face but still cover up problem spots. I had long and stringy dyed blonde hair, which she promptly treated with purple shampoo before cutting off anything that wasn't healthy. Holly was knowledgeable, kind, friendly and efficient. She made me feel like I was in capable hands, giving me a review of what she had planned to do to correct my hairstyle while affirming what I already felt was wrong with my current haircut without me having to explain. I left feeling confident in my new look! read more

I've done a lot of weird and damaging stuff to my hair and Soho has been there to help cover up my mistakes and make my hair look good again! When I'd dyed my hair pink and couldn't get it out, my colourist made it look fantastic. When I wanted to take a risk and get bangs, my stylist did exactly as I asked, and then touched them up when I changed my mind about my vision. The staff are very friendly and the service is excellent. I'm happy to say that I've found my permanent hair salon. read more

Have been trying to find a hair salon that I can stick to for the next little bit and decided to give SoHo a try. I wasn't disappointed! I booked my appointment over the phone. They called me two days before to confirm. On arrival, I was greeted immediately and my jacket was taken. I waited for a few seconds before Amanda my stylist showed up. She was very friendly and nice. We first sat and down and talked about what I wanted. I just wanted to trim a few inches but wasn't ready to lose a lot of my hair. Amanda understood me and advised what would be the neat way to do it. After, I went for a nice hair wash with a good scalp massage. Came back the cut was about 15-20 mins. I was also offered a tea and the conversation was very pleasant. She blowed dried my hair, asked me if there were any products I didn't want to use on my hair and styled my hair how I wanted. I was very pleased and needless to say, have booked my next appointment with them! read more

I've been going to Soho Salon since they were located in the Sherway Gardens mall. I've had many colourists and stylists and all have been great. I've taken pictures in to show the colourist what i'd like and she's always done the best job. Only problem is the salon is super busy so if you want appointments with specific people you have to book well in advance. It's completely worth it for the quality of their work. On a side note .. I started going here when I moved to the area. There was a time I couldn't get an appointment and went back to my old hair dresser who I thought did a great job before. I was very unhappy with my haircut and the techniques she used to cut my hair. Needless to say I book my appointments at Soho well in advance now. read more

Love this place. They have some of the most talented hairdressers in Etobicoke. Their colourist always get the perfect color for me. The highlights are also on point. I feel very refreshed then I leave this place. Feel like I'm 20 again. read more

Soho Salon - Hair Salons Near Me - Toronto, Ontario

When we moved to the west of Toronto, we decided to switch to a salon closer to our home. After much research, we decided to give Soho a try and have never gone anywhere else since. Victor does great razor cuts for men if requested and is also one of the owners. I've loved every hair stylist that I've gotten to cut my hair -- Ashley, Noelle and Agatha. Unlike most salons where you have to be choosey with who you get, at Soho every stylist is amazing at what they do and are always willing to offer hair tips. Great salon close to Sherway Gardens and I would recommend anyone on the way west end to come. It's an enjoyable and fun experience getting your hair cut at such a lively place. read more

I've been going here for years! Mindy does the best colour/highlights! I've never been happier with my hair and I will never let anyone else do my highlights! Go see Mindy, you are in very talented hands! read more

I have been getting my hair done by Victor and his brother Joe (the owners) for the past 12 years. They have been in their new location across from Sherway Gardens for just over a year. Let's just say that it is amazing being able to park easily, directly out front or back of the salon. The location is beautiful with plenty of natural light, giant windows, and very chic interior completed with a coffee/tea station and a very clean open concept. Victor has been able to fix my hair mishaps (i.e. when I decided to trim it myself) and I have always trusted him 100% to cut it in a way he felt was best. I have very thin hair, and he manages to cut/style it like it's got a ton of body. I like that he doesn't use a lot of product, so that I can easily replicate the style on my own at home. Joe is a wizard with colour, from the purple and red I chose to do in high school, to foil highlights, to a beautiful blonde ombre - his visions always turn out absolutely beautiful when paired with my fresh cut. Over the years, I have referred numerous people here and they have all remained regular customers. The stylists are fantastic and the atmosphere is classy but not stuffy. A great place to spend some time getting pampered! read more

This place had absolutely terrible service. Now before starting this review I will mention that I was late about 25 minutes for my appointment so that is where I will take responsibility, however I honestly wish I never went to my appointment at all. I was gracious they could fit me in but I they never explained to me it meant half the services or else I would of rescheduled. When you go to a salon and are paying money to get your hair done you want to feel relaxed, taken care of and at ease. However half way through highlighting my hair the lady informed me they had no one to blow dry or cut my hair so I had to do it or myself or leave with wet hair........ wet hair outside in -5 weather??? They did not even comb my hair when they were done washing it. I asked if they could do a treatment and they said they diddnt have time, she legit shampooed my hair, quick massage , conditioned and toner than i was done. My hair was literally dripping down all over my sweater and was soaked. When i told the ladys at the front desk I had a ok experience they diddnt say anything, they asked for my information and I just said I wouldn't be coming back! They said okay and nothing else. To be honest they were kind of rude about it all and diddnt want to do anything to change my experience or even apologize! Ive never been one to write reviews and I am a pretty easy going client to be honest. But having to leave a salon and go to the lobby with soaked, uncombed hair I almost felt like crying. Usually when you leave a salon you want to feel beautiful and there I am looking like a drowned rat having to go out in public like this. I ended up getting into the Salon Collage which was a 3 minute walk for them to finish off the session with a blow dry and trim. I told them about my terrible experience at Soho and they gave me a free treatment for all the trouble.I am 23 years old so when I am paying alot of money on a students budget I expect to have my hair done and enjoy my experience. Especially with my hair being blonde it usually takes a while at the salon so I like to enjoy my time there. Needless to say I will never return there and for any people thinking of booking at this place I would consider reviewing other places!! read more

This was my first time going to this salon, I went there because they had good reviews, I booked my appointment online on January 23rd , I received a conformation email with the date I picked Thursday January 25th 2018 at 11:00 am . I arrived at the salon at 10:41 for my appointment , I was informed by the receptionist that my appointment was booked for 10:00 am , I showed her my confirmation email for 11:00 . To which she said well that's human error when you didn't show up I thought you weren't coming, also you booked the 23rd which is last minute this other person booked on the 11th so your appointment was last minute ( how can I show up to a time I didn't pick nor have confirmation for ??? Also what does it being closer to the date make it less priority or make it my fault that there was an error ??) . She proceeded to tell me well it's a tight fit today camila is all booked up I can squeez you in with zuzu at 11:45 but we won't have time to style your hair because we have another client ( I then asked about zuzu she said her and the other stylist were " similar " what ever the hell that means ) . I then said I don't understand how you can not style my hair since I booked a style and cut , she then says well we can style it I'll just make the other person wait . I then thought okay I'll see and booked for 11:45 but I thought about it and thought it was incredibly rude that you were going to make some person who had an appointment wait because you had " human error " . I went back in and asked her to cancel it , I heard her say sorry one time during the whole conversation , and she didn't even try to win me as a customer by being polite or say anything to appease my irritation . Her name was Denise the receptionist, over all I am not impressed by the service and I wouldn't feel comfortable here even if I had stayed for a cut . I am posting the email I got for confirmation below . I hope they are nicer to other newcomers . read more

Soho Salon - Hair Salons Near Me - Toronto, Ontario

I've been coming here for about a year now, as my colorist left my previous salon. I'm so happy I found Soho - its even closer to my house than my last salon, and its such a nice spot with lots of natural light. Its conveniently located across from Sherway Gardens and I've never had an issue finding parking. They can be busy (especially around the holidays), but its worth the wait for an appointment. Would recommend :) read more

Been coming here for a couple of years - excellent! They have great hours, are friendly, very professional and polite. The prices are very good, especially when comparing it to other salons. I trust each and every colorist/stylist I see and I've never left unhappy. I highly recommend this salon. A special shout out to Denise, who is a wonderful host! :) read more

I'm so glad I found this place! Mindy is the best colorist I've ever had. She truly listens to what you want, and never hair judges! Having blonde hair, I often get hairdressers that try to tell me my hair is dead in order to sell me products. Mindy has never once referred to my hair as dead nor has she tried to sell me anything extra. I really appreciate how genuine she is! Not only that, but she is amazing at her job. Her hair coloring skills are out of this world! I've tried other colorists at this salon, but no one is as good as Mindy! No matter how complicated a task I present, she always finds a solution. I've had others tell me what I wanted to do wasn't possible, but she never says she can't do something. She explains step by step how she plans to do it, and instills confidence that it will turn out great, which it always does! This salon deserves 5 stars just for having a gem like Mindy! Aside from that, the salon is beautiful and in a great location. They never leave you waiting long and all the ladies that wash and cut hair are friendly and a real pleasure to be around. The prices are reasonable and I've never felt overcharged. This is a great establishment with an excellent staff. You won't be disappointed! read more

I used to go to this salon for years when it was at Sherway. Unfortunately things are not as they used to be. I went into have a blowout with a senior stylist for a photo shoot. After waiting for awhile, a quiet nervous young girl came to do my hair. It took her a very long time and she wasn't doing it right and it looked horrendous. I was close to tears as I needed my hair to look good for a very expensive day ahead. I told her it didn't look right and the front desk told me they had no one to fix it as everyone was busy. This is ALSO when I learned that the girl was not a stylist. She was an assistant who usually washes hair, sweeps floors etc. Likely someone in training. Soho (the owners) KNEW she was not a trained stylist and were not upfront with me that my stylist was stuck in traffic/fender bender. I was of course very angry and upset. The owners were also two seats away from me hearing everything and ignoring the situation. No apologies, nothing. Eventually one of the actual stylists fixed my hair - thank God - but I feel that everything that happened was incredibly deceptive and I will never return. read more

I went to Soho for the first time and I am so happy I did. I am obsessed with my colour!! Marissa did an amazing job. I was really nervous because I was switching salon's and had a particular blonde colour I was hoping to achieve. Marissa surpassed all my expectations. I have been colouring my hair ofr 10+ years and this is by far the best colour I have ever had done. I cannot wait to go back. Noelle also did a great job blow drying my hair and her head massage almost put me to sleep it was so good. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for an amazing experience with very talented colourist and stylist. read more

I just got home from my appointment and I'm so happy I had to come and write a review right away! This was my first time at Soho and I was lucky enough to get Holly who is an absolute gem. Such a beautiful and talented girl, I'm so happy to have her as my new stylist. I have really fine hair that you can't do much with and I wanted a certain style but wasn't sure if I was going to be able to achieve it with my texture of hair. Holly talked to me about what would and wouldn't work and the results were beautiful. The atmosphere of the salon is great, everyone is very nice and efficient, and I was in and out in less than an hour. After many years of not often not liking my hair cuts and have a stylist who didn't really listen to what I wanted and had outdated ways of doing things, Holly was a total fresh of breath air. I will definitely be back to this amazing salon and stylist! read more

I was in Soho salon about a month ago. It was my first time doing anything fancy to my hair. I really wanted to have a pastel pink balayage. After reading the reviews I decided to go with Mindy, she and everyone was very nice and professional. She did the balayage and although it was a little darker (they uploaded the picture its called pink panther)i was excited to see how it would wash and to see it become more pastel. I ended up paying in total a little over $400. I was excited with my new hair and happy with the service so i gave a 20% tip. And bought the shampoo and conditioner they suggested. Unfortunately after the first wash most of the color washed out from the top. It remained a dark reddish color except a strip underneath my hair which was pastel pink. I waited three weeks hoping that with every wash my hair would become more pink. But it went straight to small brassy highlights and after pale blond highlights. It was never pink except for that pink stripe under my hair. I went back to Mindy obviously unhappy and hoping she would help me. But she wasn't't owning up to it, I explained that i paid a lot of money for pink hair that was never pink after the first wash. She was making it seem like it was my fault. The only thing they offered was to go and bleach the top again for 100 or redye my hair pink for 40 which i know would fall off after the first wash. I didn't want to pay these people any more money so I will not go back. They are nice to you before they get you money but not very much after. read more

First time going here today and I was impressed with my results which is rare. Will definitely come back in the future!!!

I went into the salon with an idea of what I wanted for my color but I wasn't sure how it was going to be implemented. After explaining to Danielle what I wanted, she knew exactly what to do. My color is fixed now and I was able to keep my blonde which is what I wanted. Thanks Danielle! read more

Today I showed up for a hair appointment at Soho that was not put into my requested stylists schedule. I was a little upset as I had booked this appointment over two weeks ago. The girls went to great lengths to fit me in so I wouldn't leave disappointed. Another stylist Meaghan fit me in and worked with me to give me a cut I would be happy with. She was friendly, accommodating and gave me a good cut. I left happy and with a bag of goodies. Mistakes happen, but it's how you deal with the client that makes the difference and helps with retention. I would definitely go back and recommend this salon. read more

Overrated Salon- Went in with a picture of the highlights I wanted and they turned out brassy - no where near what I was expecting. Had to go back and get it fixed and she still screwed up. They over charge and are not friendly either. read more

This is by far my favourite hair salon! They are my go to salon for hair colour/highlights! The service is exceptional and they really take care of their customers! read more

First couple of times the hairdresser was good! But the last couple of times she completely ruined my hair! And the Color technician named Danielle or Daniella! She needs to learn some customer service! A few times the hair dresser tried to bring her over to give me Color suggestions and every time she said she was busy! Meanwhile she was just standing there waiting for her clients hair timer to go off! They say she is good! But her attitude stinks if you ask me! read more

I was looking for a new hair salon in my area to go to as I have always gone to a family friend's in home studio for years. I needed a new hair dresser with updated skills so I ventured off. I found soho on yelp and it had great reviews so I decided to give it a shot. I think I had my haircut by Camille and she was great. She took the time to make sure she cut my hair the right length that I wanted and took her time. She made me feel at home and offered me a drink when I got there. She curled my hair and although I would have liked it curled a bit differently it was still all about the cut for me which she did great at! The studio is beautiful and it is a fantastic place. I'll definitely be going back. read more
