I literally stumbled upon this place online while looking for salons and authorized suppliers of L'Oreal Professional products. I have gotten so fed up with being limited at the nearby salons and price gouging that goes on for professional hair care products. I was having a difficult time finding a specific product that my salon ran out of and couldn't offer me an ETA on when it would be back. All I got was "backordered" "supply issue". Just by doing a simple Google search with the name of the product, my very first hit brought up Cosmetic World. Honestly, of all the times I have looked for stores that sell my salon products, this was the first time I had heard of this store. I looked through the site, read some reviews and I was ready to order! I had no trouble ordering the product that I couldn't find anywhere in York Region. PLUS the price was almost $5 less per bottle than what I was paying at my salon, so I stocked up! AND got free shipping! I was able to easily track my order and get notifications. I ordered on a Saturday and my order arrived the following Wednesday with no issues. Quick & easy to order and fast delivery. I will def use them again to shop online and try in store as well. I was amazed at the variety and selection of hair colour & hair care products, nail, bath and beauty products that they sell. I wont be buying anymore products at the salon! read more

Cosmetic World - $29.99 each - saved $15 compared to what some salons charge. - Cosmetics & Beauty Supply Near Me - Toronto, Ontario

Cosmetic world has the products that I can't find anywhere else. Service and prices are great too.

Treat people with respect, dignity that when they want an exchange they are not trying to cheat the company merely trying to get what they really had come for! And honestly help them with the correct info and after they spent $112.00 of the hard earned money !!! The Korean lady was trying to help me but the Spanish guy stopped her from helping and could not careless! Unbelievable bad customer services ! read more

I've been a customer of this store for decades. Since emigrating here almost 40 years ago, I feel that I've known Mrs. Moon forever. She is a nice lady. Here's where things are going slightly downhill for me ... The store was always a bit jumbled, but I could live with that. They don't carry as wide a range of the Japanese hair care products which I adore, and which they carried for years and years. Also, their staff, as nice and polite as they are, don't seem too knowledgeable - I think they keep an eye on things more than knowing the product lines (my personal opinion). I wish this store would start increasing their Japanese hair care products, especially deep conditioners ... read more

Mrs M. was so pleasant and helpful! I came here to buy a particular hair conditioner and I would be looking for it forever but for the helpful and competent consultation! But I was a bit disappointed after the cashier was a bit rude for me (probably because of a huge amount of work, a large queue and tense atmosphere). But anyway! I would like her to be more polite with the customers, especially new ones! Thank you! read more

If I could rate this a negative number I would! I made an order and put my full address down. They sent my order out and then according to them the address was insufficient so it couldn't get to me. Now they said they can't resend it or give me a refund. I spent so much money and they didn't even bother to meet me halfway after they are the ones that left part of my address off! Worst experience ever, bad customer service. I don't recommend ever buying from thos place. read more

I love Cosmetic World! They have the best selection of hair care products that you just can't find anywhere else.

Cosmetic World has everything, beauty related. So many hair and make-up products to choose from. Fantastic!

I am sooooo impressed with this company. I made an order on the Monday before Christmas, not expecting to receive it before Christmas (which was fine because it wasn't a Christmas gift). But the order arrived 3 days later on December 24!! The prices are amazing and free shipping was an added bonus!! Also my package was left in a secure spot for me, which was great because I didn't want it stolen if left on my front step. I HIGHLY recommend Cosmetic World and thank them for their top quality service!! read more

They sold me online expired coloration and didnt want to replace it really bad client service. read more

I am more than happy with the service that I received from Cosmetic World!! I was online shopping for Redken Shades EQ and came across Cosmetic World and feel so fortunate that I did. They have every shade in stock, plus many more professional brands. Much better than Sally Beauty Supply. I ordered on a Thursday evening and received my products on Monday morning (In Vancouver)! Superrrr speedy shipping, my items were packaged and shipped the very next morning after ordering. They have amazing prices compared to Amazon. Thank you so much, can't wait to place my next order! :) read more

Complete and utter assholes! Rude on the phone. Would not answer a simple question about carrying a L'oreal product. Said it was a "sensitive product" - whatever that means. However, if I was a hairstylist then I would have gotten a different answer. And to top it off got hung up on! Had to call back to tell him off. Not sure if its a cultural thing but here in Canada people are NICE - something these shop owners should learn from. Anyone have suggestions for better stores in Toronto area that actually care for their customers? I'd pay more for better service. read more

Shady business! Buyer beware. Purchased a Groupon for Safi Sole, a $100 custom orthotic insole ($450 Value) and assumed 'Safi Sole' was an orthotics place or perhaps a podiatrist. Whoops. Turns out its a large cosmetic supply store with inept employees and terrible customer service. Had to 'make an appointment' which I did. On arrival I was ushered through a closed salon, past a velvet rope, into the back storage area where they were running some sort of mickey mouse operation for these discount insoles. There is NO WAY the these EVER cost $450. Long story short: Didn't have my size and the solution was to 'go through groupon to get a refund.' Ha! What a waste of time. Bad, groupon. Bad, cosmetic store. read more

Terrible Terrible horrible experience !!! Employees are rude, they never say thank you, never try to help you, except for one guy that seem to be the exception. I saw the manager ( the one with acne scars on his face ) being soooo rude with a custumer ! I've decided to never go back to this place again. To avoid absolutely!!! Better buy online and have good and respectful service! È. R. read more

I ordered from their website three times. Their website states that free shipping is included for all orders over $49. All my orders were over $49, and two times out of three I had to pay $14.99 for shipping and my postal code wasn't listed as the remote location one. When I emailed them they mentioned that only orders over $150 qualify for shipment. What a scam! read more

This is the best place in the city to find any hair related products - even professional dye products. As well as for nails, skin, waxing ....and the list goes on. Miss M. the owner and her staff are so informed on product knowledge but they are not hair dressers so take what they say with a grain of salt, but they are helpful. They have true hair beauty supplies that even my stylist goes her when they are in a pinch. The prices are great - if something is not priced though - walk away because she make up prices. It's great for you know what you need type of place and you could for sure spend over an hour in here looking around at everything. read more

This is my go to for any hair product, dye or styling tool. Staff is always very helpful, and if they don't have my dye in stock, she orders it and it's there within 2 days. Hope they don't knock this down to build a condo!! read more

Fantastic assortment of products for hair AND fairly priced. This is now one of my go-to places for salon products; however, DO NOT take the sales associates' words on what would be good for your hair. They are not hairdressers. They may have been trained to sell these things, but that does not mean they are qualified. The best thing to do is to ask your hairdresser what to use and then go get what you need here. As an example, on my last visit I bought a giant bottle of shampoo that I was advised to getinstead of some other product I had in my hand. Next time I went to get my haircut, my hairdresser said that the shampoo I ended up purchasing was definitely not what I needed for my hair type and hairstyle. Now I'm still stuck with using up half the bottole of this shampoo that I don't need. I've never purchased the makeup here, but to me it looks really old and really cheap. To be safe, buy your makeup from reputable brands that you know are long-lasting and high quality. read more

Very shady. We tried to place order to be shipped. Price of shipping went from $10 to $50 in a flash. Said they normally charge people $20 and then in a few minutes said $30. It seems like they are low ballers. Avoid at all costs! read more

If you are looking for a better service for beauty products, go to sephora or sally's. This store is hectic. Visually, their merchandises are everywhere. I mainly go to this store to purchase hair coloring products. This stores carries professional products that aren't mass-consumer friendly. If you are looking to buy hair dye, they've got wella's KP, CT, igora royal and other brands that aren't widely available for non-professionals. Because they sell professional products, it is up to you for to learn about the products before purchasing. Some sales associates have basic knowledge of the beauty, but you shouldn't rely on them too much. Plus, their prices (for hair coloring products that I buy anyway) are reasonable or cheaper than online. They've got every beauty product imaginable. If you are in a beauty emergency, this is the store you'd go to. By the way, I only eye-balled the back of the store, but they have a weak selection of hair extensions and wigs. But then again, if you are looking for weaves and extensions, there are better places in the city. For all you 'vegetable dye' fans out there, I believe they have Directions. but I didn't see special effects. Definitely worth a visit for beauty aficionados read more

Your receipt says no refund not no exchange and that said your customer service still sucks as much as your attitude.

Got some great advice here about hair colour - the results are fantastic; and I would have likely never known had they not suggested. Thank you!! I go out of my way to get things here because I know what I purchase works, they give good honest advice, and the prices are competitive. I've been coming here since I was a teenager. read more

This place has everything you could ever want to buy for your hair, and them some! Even sells the products only available to hair styling professionals, so you can get that salon look at home. That being said, do not trust that just because the sales lady says it will do what you want they are not stylists and will not be there if something goes wrong, especially if you are inexperienced in what you are doing. It can be a bit hard to find what you want, although they have several staff eager and willing to assist you. Not quite the high end feel to the shop as the other supply place I go to, as this is like a hair care warehouse. Overall I would say go in and see what you can get to make your hair look amazing! read more

At the time when all salons are closed due to Covid 19, and sally beauty supply is ripping off their customers... I was on a search for a trustworthy and reliable source for hair dye and such products to go along with it. I came across cosmetics world and thank gawd I did because they are absolutely amazing. I will never go back to any other beauty supply after finding these guys. Shipping was incredibly fast and their customer service was great! Thank you again Cosmetics World! You're the real MVP!! read more

Rude! Sold me hair color and refused to explain amounts of peroxide that needed to be mixed. I have been here twice and I will drive 60 miles and waste a day before I go back to these people. The owner and the employees will sell you anything to get your money and then treat you like they are doing you a favor. Horrible! So much so that I went out of my way to sign up on yelp to write this. I spent time doing this and I have never complained about a business before. Beware. read more

They have a great variety of products but they do not have any manners at all. Very rude. I called in to ask for a price on a product for a customer of mine (Our store does not carry the product she was looking for so I decided to be helpful) and she did not give me the price which would have been okay but when I asked why she rudely snickered and stated "Do you know how many people call and ask about prices everyday?" Uh no, I don't know because I don't care. I just wanted to know why because my company does give prices to customers who are calling and this is the first time hearing that policy. read more

I try to limit my visits to this place. I still haven't completely overcome my addiction to products so this shop is pretty overwhelmingly full of temptation. There are bottles of shampoo and conditioner as far as they eye can see, all pretty colours and amazing promises. I always want them all. Sigh. They seem to have pretty much every product from every brand you could want. The prices aren't particularly cut price but are fairly standard. The staff kind of leave you to your own devices in general which I really like but are helpful if you do have a question. They'll know which curl gel to recommend out of thousands of potion bottles in there if you describe the kind of thing you want! I also went here to buy my hairdryer. I'd been using a Parlux at home in Ireland and found it good on my unruly mop. They're expensive dryers but I reasoned that it was better to buy a good one once instead of buying and discarding multiple useless ones. The guy who helped me that day was great! He was patient and went through various brands and dryers with me. I never felt pressured and he really didn't try to force anything on me. I ended up buying a Parlux again and it's worked beautifully. If only I had a tame hairdresser to use it on me every morning! This would definitely be my go-to place if I wanted a particular product. They have everything! Watch out for the fugue state that you slip into while browsing the shelves. It's all too easy to end up with a bag full of goodies! read more

Today I went to cosmetic world to buy my usual Schwarzkopf purple hair dye and the lady working said she didnt have it. Everyone there was so uncaring and rude thinking i was some kind of idiot. Today was my first visit and I will be back. I went there looking for hair accessories and found them in abundance. One of the staff (actually, I believe she may be the owner) asked if I needed some assistance and she was extremely helpful and patient. She took time to listen to my questions and then directed me to a few product lines. She answered my questions to ensure that I had a good understanding of how to use the product. I visited the store on a Wednesday morning around 10:30 am and look forward to returning in a few months. read more

They have EVERYTHING (brands & products I've had to get online previously) Super friendly, competitive pricing too!

Great place to go for beauty supplies, the staff is knowledgeable and very helpful, prices are good

I have to say I agree with the comments about bad manners. You feel there are some cultural differences when you walk into this place. However, all in all they are not bad. To me it seems that the employees are more disinterested than malicious. I've been several times and only had good recommendations. Know what you want before you go to the store. They are honest about what they have, and what they can get. I would hesitate to think you can go to a beauty store and expect they aren't going to try to make a sale. If you don't know what you want be sure of what you don't want. It makes the process much easier. When you are direct and say either YES or NO then you will leave happy. Leave the maybes for someone else. read more

In the 90s when I was a raver I had platinum blonde hair and this is where I would come to get my supplies. My mom had gotten me professional hair clippers about 20 years ago for my birthday and they lasted until recently so I headed back into some very old territory I'd not been to since the 90s. He presented a few options which are around $60-$80 but I said no it's OK I'm willing to pay more let's go for the even more professional ones. I was impressed when I started the conversation by saying I really wasn't concerned about the price and he didn't even include the more expensive ones in the options that gives me a lot of confidence in the store. He was more concerned that I might be overspending and that is rare. read more

They have a lot of products to choose from. They let me try some heating products before buying, which was really helpful! Also, went above and beyond the call of duty to exchange a product for me. All in all, I will definitely be going back and recommend them to anyone! Thanks you Cosmetic World! read more

There is a gentleman who works at cosmetic world, who is a PRODUCT GOD. He knows what the hell he's talking about, He suggested a conditioner that has worked wonders for MONTHS. MONTHHSS!!!!! That's really rare. My hair has grown and its much more healthier. THANKS COSMETIC WORLD! read more

Literaly the biggest and best stock of cosmetics in Toronto if not Canada! The guy who served me, (Anthony) whos family run it I believe was awesome. Cutomer service at its best! I made a trip back as the first time I was bowed over his his level of expertise and knowledge. Great Find! read more

Terrible customer service. The owner tends to follow people around the store and when asked a question, rudely answers. She is the worst business owner I have encountered. I was using an instant hair color tester and she came and stood besides me. Does not have pricing on some shampoos and hair products, so buyer pays what she thinks they should!!! In fact, upon checking similar items at another downtown store, the prices were less by 60%, so shop wisely. Does not respect her potential clients, so I will not return to her store. Thanks, but no thanks. read more

wow this place is great! they carry quite a large assortment of literally everything..this would be a good alternative to sallys beauty if you are in the downtown core. i was happy to find pravana vivids and joico intensity here. for people who know how to do their own hair, this is a great place to pick up colors and hair care. i didn't have much time to fully have a look around but also got a little overwhelmed by the amount of products they carry read more

My only justification for shopping there, is because it is a couple of minutes walk from my house. They have a huge selection of products, but the staff is rude. They are only interested in helping with the really expensive products, and often try to sell me products in the $200-$400 range, when I am inquiring about products in the $20-$30 range. If I could afford $400 for treatment for my hair, I wouldn't be doing it myself. read more
