Not sure why the poor reviews. I have been to many Chanel stores this one has to be my most favorite one purely because of their above and beyond customer service. The product we all know doesn't need any explanation you go there with a mind made up most of the times. What you look for at these boutiques is good helpful staff who doesn't make you feel pressured and is patient lol. Mostly all my interactions have been good but I really enjoyed my experience with Eva the last time I was there. I am extremely disappointed with the service at Chanel Yorkdale and Yorkville stores. I brought sandals for repair in June 2024 and was promised they would be sent to Chanel's exclusive repair service for $160 with a 4-6 week timeline. After six months of unanswered calls and misinformation, I finally picked up my sandals at Yorkville in dirty, dusty condition and unrepaired condition. To my shock, repair documents left in the bag by highly unproffessional,rude and aggressive Phay Sengthong, my sandals were sent to a low-quality repair shop in the mall, not Chanel's official service as promised. When I confronted staff, they were rude and dismissive, with the manager, Cerbert Abalos, stating Chanel Global would side with him and I could "complain wherever I want." I escalated this issue with Chanel Global. They were supportive and promised to investigate this case. This experience shows a concerning lack of professionalism, transparency, and respect for customers from poor management and service at these locations tarnish the Chanel brand. read more

You know what the problem is with luxury goods? Not the products, not the craftsmanship or the quality but the lack of customer service from the sales and ambassadors. They could careless about the customer service but only about their commissions. No sales agents in the store are interested in investing the time on giving suggestions and options on availability of the product or the variety of selections on colour and size in the product. They only care if you're purchasing the item that you've now taken their precious time on taking out for you to see. At the same time, the sales reps have no problem kissing the feet of regulars or VIPs. I can understand that you may be only making a small commission, but remember the client that walked through those doors may have worked a long time to save up for this craftsmanship. Don't ever judge a book by its cover. You want great relationship with clients and have returning clients?! Start from 0, and not just jump in when you see a big client. It's a shame that this is the type of customer service level one will receive from luxury goods. read more

I was helped by a particular salesperson at this Chanel named Cyrus. Whom literally was giving really passive aggressive remarks and was rushing me out the store as much as possible. I'd ask for a bag then he'd tell me that there is none of that bag left until I saw one on the shelf literally at the main area of all the main bags were. The entire experience that he gave was rude, off putting, rushing me to get a bag when I literally wanted to try on other stuff too. This is the launch date at Chanel. I have had wonderful experience with other sales rep, but specifically Cyrus, who was commenting on my purse and how I am suppose to properly wrap the chains in a passive aggressive way to show me how to place it properly on the counter. Really screwed me over on holiday shopping. Called in and placed an order over the phone and assured it would be picked up on 12/24... no one ever called me back... called the store today and they then told me that there was no curbside pickup happening and I was out of luck. Now scrambling. There was no empathy at all for my situation or what was promised by the other rep. ... And just out of nowhere I'm editing this review to 5 stars for Phay, who somehow found out about my issue (maybe here?) and texted me and helped me resolve it within 10 minutes. I have been an avid fan and collector of the Chanel collections however my experience at the Bloor Toronto Boutique has turned me off of shopping or investing into the brand anymore. I was walking around the boutique with my best friend who was there to pick up a recent order. We had to wait a substantial time as the Sales Representative was with another client. As I walking around, I was taking a few photos of a couple items I wanted to purchase. I don't always remember every piece that I see so I like to take photos so I can go back and see what I would like to purchase. I was immediately approached by a man in a suit with an ear piece telling me that photos are not allowed in Chanel. I have been a HUGE client of the brand and I always take photos of the items that I request from my Sales Associate so this was shocking to me. I obliged and put my phone in my pocket. However - the security detail began following me around two levels of the store. I felt like I was under a microscope and I decided that this is not the experience that I want to have when spending thousands of dollars. I was dressed very nice with a very expensive handbag and this was very odd. I felt very uncomfortable and I told my best friend about my feelings and we left the boutique. I will not be returning to Chanel in Canada again. I will be shopping everywhere except Chanel and I do not need to spend my hard earned money at a store I do not feel comfortable in. read more

I came here with one goal in mind. Buy the wife a handbag. When I arrived, the security was respectful and greated customers. A sales rep came to me quickly and offered her assistance. I really didn't need to hear how useful the bag was but she was nice enough to elaborate. Once she saw me yawning, she new to cut her speach short and complete the transaction. While I waited for everything to be wrapped and the transaction to post, other reps were friendly enough to engage in conversations with me (I learned alot about Chanel's Quartz/Automatic watch collection) Very friendly people! Instead, they enjoy catching up on their gossip or tik tok or whatever---everything except this old fashioned notion called 'customer service'; perhaps they are purposely trained to ignore customers. The good news to keep in mind is that they don't discriminate--you could be affluent looking or pauper or whatever, make no mistake, they will ignore you! Appalling. Came to Toronto to pick out a chanel bag - check and done! Close to the Holt Chanel location but has a second floor for fashion. This one also offered a wider range of selections from their seasonal collection. I think the lady sensed I was here on a mission and would not leave without a bag in hand. Superb customer service - very attentative to my needs as I tried on pretty much every single black handbag in the store! It goes without question these people are very knowledgeable about their products and are great for making recommendations. I didn't get that sense of snootiness or pushy sales tactic from her which was nice. A lot of their seasonal product are limited in quantity and is unlikely to be reproduced, so great for people who want a classic label but non repliable. The collection here is not too different from their store inside Holt Renfrew (2nd Floor). They have limited collection of watches and wallets, but change up their handbags from time to time. I never see anyone venture to the second floor to check out their clothing line and shoes (very uncomfortable). Security is always friendly and helpful to page a sales associate to assist you. The staff here are also very friendly - you don't sense the usual hostile-commission-grabbing attitudes from other high end stores. Emiko helped me and my mom with our purchase. I think she might be new because she wasn't able to answer questions like, "What year is this collection of sunglasses?" or "What's the estimated cost/time to wait for my watch repair?" When we were ready to purchase, she took around 20 minutes in the back room. I don't know if it takes that long to wrap up our items or if she was calculating the total? I suggest they provide a waiting area with ample seating for the guys waiting because there were a lot of men standing around not knowing what to do with themselves. It's been two weeks now, and nobody has called me about my watch... I called in and was advised that Judith, the lady in charge of handling repairs, has been sick. This is my second time in this boutique. Walking in Chanel I was greeted and was offered drinks which is nice since they are a super brand name store. Oh trust me I been to other Chanel stores where they won't even greet you or even know you've entered. So one star here! I was looking to purchase my second pair of Chanel earrings since I lost one of them while I was traveling to Vegas. They don't have the one that I was looking for however they have something prettier. Without any hesitation I bought it. My sales associate was very patient with me because she want to save my informations but I kept giving her my old numbers which I don't remember which one I used the first time. I ended up buying a small Chanel Classic bag that I can't find here in LA. My friend purchased beautiful boots. We spent about $9,000 mainly because how helpful and friendly she was. Chanel was as good as the customer service gets. Upon entering, I was greeted warmly and the lady asked if we needed any help in which we replied that we were just browsing. She was really friendly and I cant remember her name but she was not too pushy and was extremely helpful. My mom of course was in heaven and I don't blame her either. At the end of the day, we didn't purchase anything, but will be definitely back to buy something. Chanel killed it in terms of service and it was definitely one of my highlights coming to Yorkville. They had minimal workers to let you look around and the first floor had mostly handbags while the second had more clothes. Sustaining a standard of luxury and service is the essence of survival in the industry of selling really expensive shit, and this store implores the fail-safe strategy of keeping their senior female staff. Beautiful, polite, and judgmental women far reaching from the grasp of self-doubt and that wretched political correctness people fool themselves with for the purposes of conformity. Over the years, I have witnessed the clientele of this boutique tender in age, and become more focal in ethnicity. Nowadays, it's unlikely that I would visit here without hearing voices echoing in my native tongue. The attention given to me has inconspicuously risen in both quantity and quality. There are no desperate sales associates fighting over commissions here, it's not a fashionable thing in a place like this. The security personnel often adopt the role of a Walmart greeter, completing an overall positive atmosphere. I frequent this location at a set time frame annually, normally for the same item; a Chanel card holder. I once learned from a woman that credit cards and such paraphernalia damages the integrity of wallets, dramatically cutting down the lifespan of fine leather. Virtually every other brand's selection is plastered with garish logos, and made of rough materials. Only Chanel offers a sleekly designed baby lamb skin card holder in its signature stitching, sporting that iconic logo just small enough to avoid any embarrassment. It's become a tradition of mine to replace this annually, not because the need due to my overuse and rough handling of a truly quality product, but more because of the highly pleasurable and rare experience of interacting with professional sales representatives. Once someone has been assigned to me, attention is given to no one else, and consummate quality of service even chases me out the door. My business feel appreciated, and isn't that what we all want--to feel appreciated? Most accessories can be found on the ground floor, but I feel the upper level can only be deemed as the 'main' floor. Suits, dresses, and other garments carefully merchandised visually for a unique browsing experience. Staff is kept to a minimum to allow the patron as much privacy as possible, and a changing area that look like an uber shiny house of mirrors. From the exterior, the real estate is unassuming, but upon entering, it does feel almost I've stepped into an atelier. I am far from being swept off my feet, but for any store in Toronto; this is the crème de la crème. Which is also the reason why I believe despite most of the other luxury brand names renovating, or relocation to more grandeur spaces within Yorkville, Chanel has chosen to not bother with the pageantry, and stick to Madam Chanel's timeless philosophy of understanding elegance through fashion. She is one of only two women accredited with freeing women from the restrictive garments of the Victorian era, I think her store in Toronto can forgo a meaningless relocation. My most interesting conversation with a woman working here who was helping me choose between the different variation in colours of the card holders, and she apologetically hinted at the red one being a mismatch for me by flat out saying that only a gay man cold appreciate such an item in such a colour. She was right, and she was not afraid to say it. I can't imagine a single straight guy liking that card holder in red. That takes years of life experience to shrug off the possibility of someone silly becoming offended by her words. When something is so obviously not made for a man, often it just looks odd if it were worn by one. Needless to say, she saved me a lot of time leading up to the point of sale. Time is money, but in this case money is the last thing she saved me. read more

What really makes a Chanel experience great... is the customer service (besides looking at the dedication, craftmanship, and aesthetics of the clothing). The staff NEED to get over themselves - stop acting all pompous and mighty. As a Chanel staff, you have to have manners and etiquette! I hope they are reading this. The treatment at the Bloor location is horrible. I love the security guys more than the SA's and the SA's are the ones who are suppose to be helping their customers. The manager hides when there is a situation, and the SA gives you two cents of **** and you leave the store baffled by the way you're treated. Very VERY poor manners, no sign of respect at all. I advise NO one to talk to an SA. Do not expect to be helped. If you have to purchase a Chanel item, KNOW your information prior to entering the store so you know what to get. Give your hi's and bye's, but thats about it. They can honestly, ruin your day with all the negative attitude. Don't expect anything at all from the Chanel boutique in Bloor, Toronto. What is truly lacking is REAL people who admire and appreciate Chanel clothing: these are the people we need working at Chanel, especially at the Bloor location. The SA's are not very knowledgeable when it comes to clothing. Just a "...Ohh yeah, that will look nice..." Not only does the manager need to go, but so does many of the SA's. Horrible customer service. The attitude of the sales person I had was unbelievable. Almost as if I was inconveniencing him. I asked to see a specific bag. He went to the back and fetched it. Brought it out. I ask him, "how much?" he replies, "$5,000". He then immediately reaches into his pocket, pulls out his phone and proceeds to text a friend (I saw the conversation). Sorry. Let me understand. I'm interested in buying a $5,000 bag but you can't show me a little bit of respect by providing me some eye contact and a smile? You have this job because people like me, pay for the privilege of you being there. I thought about asking for another Sales Associate to help because I surely was not going to provide the commission to this guy who was too fabulous to care but then I just decided to go down the street to Holt's and make my purchase there. This is a nice store. I have been there twice. The very first time I went there, there were a lot of people in the store, but the sales associate still helped me find what I wanted to see. I took the item, I wore it, looked in the mirror, asked some questions about it and chose not to buy it. The second time I went, I actually made a purchase. Both times, I was greeted with a smile, and the items were shown promptly, my questions were addressed with a genuine interest in the conversation. This store is a feel good store. I was there over the weekend and not only browsing but actually looking for an outfit. When one of the sales rep finally took time off from chatting with her colleagues ( the store was empty) to finally ask me for help. I asked her about the new collection (I am on the listserv) and she gave me wrong info. She said the "pantsuit" is actually a two piece outfit. Which is not true. In this location, if you are not dressed with designer brands, and only wearing simple T-shirts, they will not greet you, or even bother to help. Amazing selection, always filled with sales assistants ready to help you. However... the customer bias is very evident. One day I came to buy cosmetics while wearing jeans and a university sweater after finishing class. It took almost 10 minutes until someone asked if I wanted to see something. When she did finally come up to me, her tone was slightly condescending as if she saw me as "just another teenager" and made me feel out of place. I was just as polite, if not even more, than the other snooty customers in the store. Also, she barely looked at me in the eye when assisting me and seemed distracted, something I find very rude. I took note of this. The NEXT day, I tried a little social experiment and came in wearing expensive clothes and jewellery, carrying my $2600 Louis Vuitton bag. Their quality of customer service dramatically changed (of course) and they were all eager to help me. I dropped a coin by accident and reached to pick it up, and the SA beat me to it. Four of us (all male) walked into the downtown toronto store to purchase a classic (A8600) bag which had been placed on hold for us. The clerk greeted us in a strange way - as if to say are you sure you're in the right place? When she finally figured out what we were here for - she continued to remain skeptical and begrudgingly took the bag out of its wrapping to show to us. We said to go ahead to wrap it up - we'll take it. Then came the longest wait in history. Everyone in the store ignored us and the clerk came back to verify payment She did not even give us her name nor did she ask for ours nor did she bother finding out if we needed anything else. We had to ask her for a sample - which she added - a dinky little perfume. As we left ($5,500 later), she did not even say goodbye and the doorman did not even open the door! If it wasn't for my friend leaving for overseas on the same day, I would have not bought anything there. This was the worst ever experience for that amount of money. What an uptight crew! How poor of them. Hard to imagine the lack of customer service / experience at such a renown store. My advice - don't go there! read more

Not sure what happened to this store. I bought a couple of bags in the past and the customer service was good. However, my recent visit was just terrible. I was told by the representative on the phone that yesterday was the release day for bags for the newest collection and that I should come to take a look. I came on release day during my lunch break and I was told it is not release date and they don't have the bag I was looking for (only bags that are available are from last season). I'm pretty sure it was release date (according to the Chanel website) so I don't appreciate being lied to. Took time out of my lunch break to get there for nothing, had to wait around because no sales associate approached to help me or even greeted me, and was just unfriendly (no smiles). They have a high turnover for sales representatives it is difficult to keep a relationship with one. The men who opened the doors were extra friendly though. read more

I'm surprised that this luxury brand has shitty customer service. I sent my bag in for repair November and upon receipt of giving my bag. I was told someone will call me to inform me of pricing. No one called me. I called back 27 days later Jan 31 2019 and a sales associate told me it was ready (should've asked for her name). I went in and I looked at my bag and it didn't look repaired, in fact it looked worse. I complained and Kate said sorry, she would try to dispute the pricing of repair. Then she took a pic and sent a txt to Matt. She said he isn't in but he will call you to tell you how long it will be. No call once again. I call 50 days later feb 20th 2019 complaining. Thithu told me the repair store in Paris is closed for the month of December. Can someone tell me if this is true or bs? She said she will tell Matt again and makes sure he calls me tomorrow. It seems illegal to do this and not inform the client when selling them a $5000 bag. Very disappointed. Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior and Gucci all give refunds. I was there to buy a chanel wallet on chain but they didn't have the colour I want it there. I was curious about the tote bag. I asked for the price and tried to compare the pros and cons between these 2 bags. I repeat the prices to myself so I can remember it later.
