Very impressed with this store!…read more On my recent trip to Toronto I ended up purchasing a lot of goods (Eaton Center, CNE, etc.) - more that my luggage could contain. I usually travel with Briggs & Riley as I really appreciate their superior craftsmanship and service. Searching on their website revealed De Catarina as offering a good selection of items from them, and they were within reasonable distance from where I was staying downtown (in the Manulife Center). It's a family-owned business for 20+ years they have a huge selection of luggage and leather goods from very good brands (i.e. Tumi, B&R, Rimowa, Hartman, etc). I ended up purchasing a very good matching piece as a price slightly less than I would get in the U.S. Unfortunately, my better half felt that the luggage piece was too large in size. I ended up returning the next day for an exchange (no refunds). The salesperson (? one of the owners) that I had purchased the piece from the day prior was there and gladly assisted me with the exchange -- no fuss, no hassle. With her assistance I picked out a matching Dopp kit to make up the difference in exchange. I appreciate their excellent customer service. Great selection of luggage and leather pieces. Will definitely return when in T.O.!

The ZDX line offers that same legendary durability but with a slightly more modern look, a highly functional layout, and a very convenient top pocket for quick-access items. All of these bags have survived endless airport baggage belts without a scratch. The smooth four-wheel spinners usually glide effortlessly, even when the bag is fully loaded. The only downfall to both the Baseline & the ZDX is that they are heavy when empty, and even heavier when full. Overall, a great investment that comes with a lifetime warranty."

ETTINGER BRIDLE. It is not cheap but given the quality, the design and with a desired feature. It is worthy of the price (about $450). This place has a unique line-up of items. However, it brought back a bunch of memories when I had a bit of time to kill a few Saturdays ago before attending a concert at Massey Hall. I was in grade 8 when I bought two items at Roots. One was a cheerful green sweatshirt with a small Roots logo with the beaver on the front. The other was a lilac t-shirt. It was long, with the Roots Athletic logo on the front. I didn't wear huge logos on my clothing until I got this t-shirt. It was quite the shift. I dropped by this Roots store to check it out. It looks small from the storefront. However, when you walk in, you realize that it has three floors. There is even an elevator to get to to the floor that you want, if you need it. Otherwise, there are stairs. Perhaps reminiscing about beavers was on my mind, but I felt that everything that I picked up at first was beaver-related. I loved the beaver slippers. They felt nice and cozy. I wondered about washing them and whether it would ruin that soft feeling. I then picked up a beaver plushie. It was wearing the cutest Roots hoodie. I've never owned a Roots hoodie. Should I? I have always been a fan of the mitts here. I found a pair that were made of recycled materials. They were cool. I may need to return and get them. To this day, I still have two leather items that have endured over the years. The first is a small black purse that I had all through high school, into university. I haven't used it since, but it still looks great. The other is a brown backpack that I have travelled with between Toronto and Winnipeg. I also don't use it, but it still looks good. The leather has weathered well over time. It was nice stepping into a Roots store. I typically hit outlet stores these days, but it was nice to browse and throw me back to being a Roots fan from years past. It offers classic items, which suit my style. I still want that beaver plushie! (486)

I've been here before to grab a couple's ring for my brother-in-law and a scarf for my mom--got exactly what I wanted, no hassle. The vibe is really high-end, and it's kind of wild to see how almost every woman seems to have a Birkin or Kelly, even though they're so hard to get these days. Definitely worth a visit if you want that true Hermes experience.

Now this Canadian brand has really exploded, with many styles going viral on the web. The quality of the clothes has noticeably depreciated while the prices steadily increase. But it remains one of the few shops that carries pieces that are small enough to fit me, and embodies the simultaneous sexy and sophisticated look I aspire to. I popped into this Queens st location with a group of ladies, and we rationalized our purchases by telling ourselves it costs less to shop at this brand in Canada than in the US. While I am slowly working my way away from fast fashion, I definitely pick up pieces here and there that I wear for years.

While I am not traditional-sized, I am in the Aritzia size range and have never had an issue finding the Butter line in my size, which is 12-16 depending on the store. I wasn't shocked to see most of the items here at this location are medium, small, or X-small. All of that is fine, and I get it. What I don't get is the need for your staff to be so deeply unpleasant and unprofessional. I was with my partner, and we both made attempts to ask for help in finding a size. One staff member kept avoiding me, and even when I made eye contact and asked for help, she kept pretending like she didn't see me. Another one literally looked me up and down, like full read, and smiled and loudly said, "We don't have your size here." I said fair enough and went on my way. When I was leaving, some bleach-blond person almost hit me with a door and straight up just stood there giving me a dirty look. The security here is nicer than the staff. I paid $200.00, for the shoes and Otis billed me an additional $45.00, to ship to Denver, Colorado. Earlier this week, I received the shipping confirmation, but I also received a separate email from the shipper, DHL, to let me know that I owed them an additional $72.81, and that if I did not pay in four days, the shipment would be sent back to Uncle Otis. I called Otis and was advised that because I live in the States, I would need to pay the duties on the order, and that if I didn't want to pay the duties, the shipment would be sent back to Uncle Otis Clothing and I would receive a refund, MINUS the $45.00, that I paid for shipping, so basically, I was on the hook for the $72.81, or I could send the shoes back and lose the $45.00, that I'd already paid. I was miffed to say the least and Otis was unhelpful when I emailed to ask why I paid over $115.00, just to ship. In fact, Uncle Otis Clothing didn't even have the ship to address correct, so that after I paid the extortion, so that I didn't end up paying $45.00, to get NOTHING, I had to call Uncle Otis Clothing back to sit on hold for a half hour white they called DHL to correct their mistake. To say this was mishandled is the understatement of 2025. The customer service was crap, as was the explanation of the return policy and why I was billed $117.81 for shoes that cost half of that cost. Uncle Otis Clothing is a complete scam and I will not stand silently by while companies like this one take advantage of people. The experience left a taste in my mouth that I would like to never taste again and I will continue spreading the word.

I then told him that I wanted to try it on for my friends so I could get their opinion on the coat. The sales associate then walked away. Talk about rude! I just spent over $1000 in their store and they just walk away?? Are you kidding me?? Luckily I had three amazing friends with me who helped me pull and try on as many coats as possible to find one that would be a decent fit for the cold winter months ahead. This store would not give me a refund. Any other store would have given me a refund or purchased the coat I wanted in the bigger size. I couldn't believe the snarky comments coming out of the employees mouths. My friends were flabbergasted at the attitude the employees were spitting out at us. I will NEVER SHOP HERE AGAIN!!!! I rather go to a store like Holt Renfrew or Mendocino where they do what needs to be done to make the customer happy. Holt Renfrew will fix products that need mending and their customer service is way better. Mendocino would have ordered me the coat in the larger size in a heartbeat. This store was so nice to me when I spent over $1000 here but as soon as I wanted to make an exchange or get a refund they couldn't care less. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS STORE AT ALL!!! I will NEVER SHOP HERE AGAIN!!! I learnt my lesson about buying a big ticket item at a mom and pop shop. I will never make this mistake again. It's a shame because I'm sure there are great mom and pop shops where they care about their customers but this store DOES NOT CARE about anyone except their check book.
