When you walk in, you'll probably feel comfortable. There are suits of armour on the wall. It's fantastic. I'm not one for hip, and with it, clothing stores - but, I tell you, I kind of wanted to after walking into this location. Although, I'm not sure I'll ever understand the allure of a $60.00 trucker hat. Now, that's where the good ends. My story may not be typical. It hinges on two factors - I'm a big guy, and I don't like being lied to. If you're there to just pick something up off the shelves, then - by all means - get your gear, buy it, and love it. My tale begins as my friend's wedding approached. I was to be one of his Groom's men. I needed a vest. A lovely vest that can only be purchased at GotStyle. I didn't even mind the $150.00 price tag, because it was a beautiful vest. There was nothing not to love about it. My friend had left our sizes with the good people of GotStyle, and I called ahead, and said I'd be coming to check it out. The wedding was 4 weeks away. I took the bus down to the store, and when I got in, I told the girl I'd e-mailed that I was here for the vest. She smiled, nodded, and then kept me waiting 10 minutes while she chatted it up with some guy at the front who, apparently, shops there often. They talked about their clothing addictions. I appreciate that. You need to strive off of return customers when you sell $120.00 t-shirts. But, as a new - potential - customer, this was not ideal. As for the ten minutes - that's accurate. I time stamped the event. It was probably more like 11:37 but who's counting? The vest comes. Unfortunately it doesn't fit me. It's too small, by an inch. This is not ideal. A vest needs to be done up - especially for $150.00. I cried inside a little, but she said - "Don't worry! We can get a bigger one!" I was elated! I went home, and thought nothing of it. One week passes. I e-mail, wondering about the vest. Nothing. Two weeks pass. (The wedding is now 2 weeks away.) I am told that there is nothing they can do. They can not get a vest that will fit me. Now let me tell you something about tailors - tailors can make vests. Tailors can get them done, in a similar style. In fact I was quoted that I could get the same vest, cheaper, if I needed it by... TWO DAYS AFTER THE WEDDING. This was not ideal. The next week and a half of my life was spent in a frantic hell trying to find a matching vest, that I could wear, to not stand out. I tried 8 places, 2 countries, and discovered all number of places in Toronto. Had GotStyle been up front on the day I went in, none of this would have been an issue. I would have got a vest made from a different place, but they strung me along for 2 weeks saying it would be no problem, until the finally left me in a terrible place. And they knew when the wedding would be. Long story shorter, I ended up getting a similar (too small) vest at another store. The rain was pouring that day. I remember it well, as it was near the end of the vest-adventure. Three days to the wedding. The groom found some fabric that matched the vest. Two days to the wedding. The night before - THE NIGHT BEFORE the wedding, my girlfriend's mom was able to tear the vest apart, that was too small, sew in the fabric, and create a passable copy. It was a good adventure, when it finally ended in success - but it was terrible, stressful, and awful up until that moment. And all of it could have been avoided if I wasn't lied to by the staff at GotStyle. So - you make your own decisions. Maybe you fit, "off the rack," clothes, and have the money. If so - head there. If customer service is an issue for you? Maybe this isn't the place. This is just my story. It seems other people love it. And - remember - I, too, really wanted to love this place, as well.

I'm in Canada and placed an order via their "Global-e". I needed to make a return…read more First, I was not able to create a return label on the Global-e website. I contacted customer service, and it was resolved after two days. Then, they charged the $15 return fee, but REFUSE to refund the sales taxes of $50 that they collected at the time of purchase. I contacted customer service again. Five days later, they said the taxes were forwarded to my local "customs authorities" and ask me to claim them back myself. It's only been 2 weeks since I placed the order and return the product. I don't believe the taxes are forwarded to any Canadian authorities at this time. They didn't provide any detailed information on which authority they forwarded the taxes to, and when the taxes collected from me were forwarded. If the product is still in its "returnable period", any taxes collected should NOT be forwarded to any other parties. Why would you give out the taxes knowing the product could be returned? This return cost me $65 for nothing but a very frustrating and disappointing experience! My friend recommend them to me, but I'm very disappointed! Please save your peace of mind, and don't buy from this brand! There are a ton of other choices and retailers who provide great customer service! Date of experience: 08 December 2022

Well known for their leather jackets and more fitted skinny wear, it does bring the style over the Atlantic. The store in Yorkdale is quite similar to the ones you find in UK. The one I visited in Leeds had half the space but the darkness and industrial loft vibe is the same. With men's wear on one side and women's wear on the other, you can easily look around to see if any particular cloth interest you. Most of the time, AllSaints colour scheme is dark ... olives, grey, black, or brown. Occasionally you'll get the cream or maybe a navy. This time.. weirdest thing, they had Hawaiian shirts for the men's. Like I said, weird and unexpected. The women's line tend to have a touch more colour. With summer season, they did have a few cute summer dresses. Aside from a darker colour palette, the women's wear has an obvious trend. Nothing form fitting but it can be short! Their mini dresses or skirts can much shorter than you're used to! That being said they do have a bunch of items that are ok to bend over and not feel like you're gonna be the next meme. I do find their clothes to be very different compared to most North American brands. I highly suggest you try them on ... even the ones that look terrible on the rack. I ended up falling in love with one that looks like a potato sack ... turns out it has a gorgeous low cut drape in the front and it's short. Price wise... it's not cheap at all but I do find the materials very soft and the clothes well made. They may not have a lot of tailored edges or special styling, but I find their clothes stand up well to wash and wear. It is a bit trendy so they trend may die before the clothes do. They do sales as well... I think I saw a few nice pieces for 40%. So if you're not looking to spend $100 on a shirt, you could wait for the sale. Service here was pretty good ... they were greeting everyone and letting them know of the store wide sale. They were also proactive to help find a size and also help match up other items to what we tried to find. I maybe biased but I have fond memories shopping in London at AllSaints. I feel the Canadian stores have a very similar experience. Maybe I'm not edgy enough to wear all the street clothes but I'll check out the cute sundress next time I'm in Yorkdale.

I was forwarded a meme whilst contemplating this nonsense (because apparently no one else has yet, bloody hell), and on it, a satirical list of things purported to be signs your 'hood is gentrifying, including an "inexplicable general store." Inexplicable. General. Store. I guess that best explains Good Neighbour. True to form, the place is filled with all sorts of eclectic and stylish stuff of all random categories scattered everywhere, like greeting cards, clothes and outerwear, mugs, footwear, backpacks, cosmetics, stationery. It's sort of like a Drake General Store (or maybe even an Urban Outfitters), but with more emphasis on fashion and lifestyle goods... and less on random cheeky hipster gag gift kitsch. There's a small kids section tucked in the back by the fitting room stalls, with an assortment of dresses, toys, puzzles, and humourous books. The men's stuff upstairs kind of scares me with the quantity of soaps and toiletries for the discerning well-groomed hip man. The place itself is a marriage of curated hip(ster) tastes (oh wait, they even have a table of selected Drake General Store crap for sale), and Club Monaco chic. Thankfully like a good neighbour the folks here don't stink so much of that douchey we're-too-cool-for-thou attitude that many hipster businesses are known for--they instead stink of individual cheerful Queen West-esque personality and a level of helpfulness not normally seen in a more corporate fashion boutique. Pricey? Kinda expected that. What is not expected are the sale offers that do pop up time and time again. My sister claims she bought a pair of jeans here for less than what Hudson's Bay was charging for the same brand. But I usually end up with socks, or scarves, or cards. I've been in a few times since it's opened and I've never been disappointed. I happened by here today with one of my friends so we could check out the sales. I have to say, I was even more impressed than usual. Service is always great, but even with a store crowded with throngs of bargain hunters, we both received excellent service. The salespeople were extremely helpful despite the crowd. Whenever a store has a sale on, I always feel like I'm going to end up picking through the remnant pieces of clothing that no one else wants, however, today, that was not the case...the sale prices were amazing and the selection was ridiculous. We had a great time shopping and literally had to stop ourselves from buying more than we did. Overall, they carry a great selection of office attire, and great weekend attire as well. Will definitely be going back...there's a reason this place is one of my favourite shopping spots.

The manager I spoke to certainly didn't look too pleased that I was exchanging an item instead of purchasing something, however, she made an exception and allowed me to exchange the shirt for the current selling price ($25 dollars less than original value). I quickly picked out something and paid $8 more. Another sales person helped me at the cashier who was friendlier than the Manager. She wrapped the new shirt up nicely and apologized they couldn't do something more. Overall, a pleasant experience at Ann Taylor where you'll receive A-OK service!

I pretty much received my stuff within 2 business days. Everything is backed by that crazy Canadian Tire-esque guarantee where you can pretty much return anything you're not 100% happy with. Enough raving about the chain - more on the store! My love for Mark's also stems from the fact that the first time I stepped into this location, it was my shelter away from a sudden rainstorm. This location is large with plenty of free parking. It's kind of buried within the cavernous parking lot, but easy to find. The folks working there were very friendly and helpful.

So I made my way to the Eaton Center, glanced at a couple storefronts, and settled on Johnston & Murphy. J&M is an American footwear and clothing company. Think dress shoes, dress shirts, ladies shoes, shirts, and accessories. This location isn't terribly large, but they do have a modest selection, (especially of shoes), that gave me some variety in my search. When I walked into the store, the salesman approached me noticing that I was attempting to match my suit jacket to appropriate shoes. We proceeded to walk through a number of different options and chose a number to try. J&M service has the nice touch of having their salespeople hands-on fit you with the shoes when trying them on. Though to be honest, even though I appreciated this, I eventually asked to just try them on myself. Too much good treatment and my bougie meter would explode. I quite like the style of their shoes in general, and even better, most of them are surprisingly comfortable. At the time, they had a sale going on, which made their shoes even more accessible, but even without the sale, I must say that J&M's value to price point ratio is pretty high. Take walk to most of the surrounding stores and you'll be hard pressed to find shoes of the same style & quality at the same price. If my job necessitated more business casual or formal wear, I would certainly make a couple more purchases at J&M. Come for the clothing, appreciate the service, take advantage of the price.
