Downtown Sioux City, Iowa. It was just a few minute drive from our motel. They were busy so we sat at the bar. The bartender was so friendly I got the Deschutes Black Butte Porter. When our table was ready, I ordered the maple bacon poutine's and hubby got chicken pot pie. He really liked the chicken pot pie. He loved the crispy crust on top. The poutine's were good but the fries could have been crispier just a little too soggy for the gravy. The cheese curds had a great pull on them. There was outside seating. In side the restaurant reminded me of New York lots of billboards for plays,musicals and sign. Even a statue of liberty light. read more

Unfortunate visit. The service is friendly but it took 45 minutes to get a table even after they said 10 minutes. Finally went up and someone had crossed our name off. How does that happen?? The beeper they gave us never went off. ‍ Meals were the Cuban was pretty much a salt lick and the pork tenderloin sandwich was over cooked. I had the Mac n Cheese burger, which I expected to be lots of fun and kind of messy, like something you see on the Food Network. It wasn't messy. Or fun. It just seemed regular. The service was pleasant, I guess. The atmosphere calm, clean. Prices were a buck or two above where they should be, but I won't dock them for trying to make a profit. The special was a patty melt that was $15, putting it above the price of regular priced burgers. Weird special. BTW, it is a half pound burger, which is substantial. So if everything was avg, they should get 3 stars. But these days, doing a regular food service is becoming less common. So for doing everything regular but correctly, they get 4 stars. read more

We were downtown trying to find a new restaurant and this one popped up on our radar. We were pleased to see it had a wide variety on the menu. I was in the mood for comfort food that day and could not believe I saw tater tot casserole and chicken pot pie on the menu LOL My husband ordered the Osso Bocco pork with mashed potatoes and was pleased with it. My daughter ordered the pork chop and said it was good. HOWEVER I ordered the chicken pot pie and trust me when I say this will be what I order next time I go! The biscuit crust melted in your mouth and the potatoes carrots and gravy were amazing. We will definitely be going back soon as I want to try the other casseroles as well! read more

Good food in a unique atmosphere. Our kids (13, 4, and 3) were welcome and they enjoyed the kids menu. We visited at 4:45pm on a Wednesday; there were a few other tables sat but it wasn't a busy time. Street parking is on the meter but it's free after 5pm. Service was friendly and focused on making sure that we enjoyed our meal. The food was hot and delicious. I wanted something unique since I was from out of town and the server quickly offered the good suggestions. I chose the SoHo Popper Topper Burger since it was the current best seller and I wasn't disappointed. There was also a nice selection of drafts including a couple local brews which we tried and enjoyed. The prices were lower than I had expected and the food and service were both worth more than we paid. $87 for two appetizers, two adult entrees, two kid meals, one coke, and four draft beers. read more

Looking for someplace good to eat in Sioux City when you are a pescatarian who doesn't drink can be challenging. This place had a blackened salmon salad on the menu so I decided to give it a try. It took a while for someone to take my drink order. I began to wonder if, because I came alone with long hair and a beard, maybe they thought I was homeless and would run out on the tab. Finally she came over, but then I find that the only non-alcoholic drinks are virgin imitations of alcoholic drinks, which I hate. So I had water. The blackened salmon salad though was excellent. That piece of salmon doesn't look like much but it is very tasty. The combination with good spinach, shaved parmesan and some kind of chutney was delicious. read more

Service: We stopped by here for the first time and had a great experience over all. When we got there all the booth were taken and expected to wait 20min but the staff then clear up a table for us and made sure my kids were comfortable. Our server was wonderful and was super attentive to our table. It was a really busy night and whenever our server wasn't around the other staff where helpful as well. We really were impressed on how quickly our food came out too. Food: My husband got the jambalaya and he really enjoyed it didn't get much critique from home but his empty plate spoke for itself lol I order the popper topper which is a jalapeño burger with cream cheese and onions a lettuce on the side for your liking. The meat was really flavorful and cooked perfectly. I would definitely recommend. Kids food: Both of my kids ordered the spaghetti one with fries on side and the other with fruit in the side This is the only thing that was little comical to me . We're at a restaurant ordering "Fruit" and receive a fruit cup? Umm no thank you . I asked one of the server to replace it with fresh fruit since the menu said "fruit" not fruit cup. She then sliced up some oranges at the bar which I appreciated better than a fruit cup my son felt cheated ordering fruit at a restaurant. Atmosphere: I Appreciate that I felt welcome with my family and also to come back to have some adult time. Great atmosphere, but the food didn't match. The reuben is bland (great bread, tasteless meat, bland kraut), and the bread pudding...embarrassing. It's just some canned cinnamon roll strips smooshed into a pan and baked. The portion is huge, but only the edges were edible. The rest was....well...like cheap canned cinnamon roll mush. We stopped in for lunch, on our way to Sioux Falls. We actually went into the place next door, but the buffet looked terrible and we weren't getting very good vibes from the staff so we walked out and ended up here. First of all our server Oliver was top notch, best waiter of our 3 day road trip. I ordered the Popper Topper burger; a crazy blend of jalapenos, pepper jack cheese, and grape jelly. A thick burger dripping with flavor. My wife had the tater tot casserole and my buddy had some wings, they both said their order was great. Tater tot casserole should really be on more menus! Nice up-scale casual feel in a historic old downtown, great service, great menu and great food. I'd do it again in a minute. read more

The only reason I'm giving this place a 4 instead of a 5 is because service is so-so and is completely different every. single. time. But the food is BEYOND great! Their salmon is seriously the best salmon I've had outside of Alaska, no joke! Bar situation is on point. The flatbreads are amazing! The last two times I've dined here my food has been just ok. For example, tonight I felt SO rushed! Like they wanted us out of there as fast as possible. My salmon, which is usually butter just melting in my mouth, was dry as hell and over cooked. My meal last time was rather over done as well. Salad was good. Don't get the loaded potatoes. It's pretty much half a baked potato with cheese and no seasoning at all. Service was ok. She was nice but she never checked up on us. I ordered something called Chicken Lasagna Rolls, though I'm no longer sure why it was called that. Essentially it was two oversized wraps, not pasta, with a bunch of melted cheese inside smothering cubes of canned chicken. There was no sauce, and after 40 minutes I had to chase the server down to find out where our meal was. She blamed how busy it was, though when we walked in there were maybe 10 people in the place. Then she went back and brought it out immediately, telling us that she moved us to the front of the line. A lie. The food was cold on one end, barely warm on the other. Wowzers! Starting with the homemade French salad dressing, fresh salad, and fritters, we were off to a great start. Chicken pot pie is absolutely delicious and homemade throughout including the intricate woven pastry topping. Second time here and it is a decent restaurant. Our server was great she had a couple other big parties but took care of us. The chips, queso and salsa were great i really enjoyed that. For my entree I had the bacon and egg burger. The burger overall was average and pretty messy but with the egg you expect that. This restaurant seams to be trying to get to a meh status. Only been there a couple times in the last few months because of covid. The food has progressively gotten average. This was happening before covid also. My last meal there was ok, I got the meat lovers burger. It was good, the sweet potato fries were kind of gross, soggy soggy and soggy with a ton of salt. My wife's meatloaf sandwich was pathetic at best. Both sides were buttered on the outside but that was it. They forgot to toast it for the pattt melt feel it should have. Was at this location last week for work and decided to stop in for a hot meal. We stayed at the bar because it was just two of us and that's always the best way to get the best service. Service was great, and I got the Mac n Cheese Bacon Burger which was also delicious! Appetizer was fried pickle spear, I looooooved this things! Ordered the pretzel appetizer to share which was okay. My husband ordered the pork fritter and had to order something because it was so hard he couldn't cut it with a knife. The burger he ordered next was alright. My grilled cheese was fine but I didn't care for the tomato bisque. My sil order the steak and shrimp and wasn't thrilled with it either. Our server was good. I stood at the please wait to be seated sign. After 5 minutes my existence was acknowledged. I was asked if "you mind sitting at the bar". 99 out of 100 , no problem. Tonight I wanted a real seat at a real table. With a huff dude said "give me a minute and I'll clean a high top". Not what I wanted but I said fine. Another several minutes go buy and dude is no where to be found . I walked out. Ignore me, get ticked at me, you don't get my money.
