The onion rings were fine, good even. The ranch, however, was watered-down and horribly thin. At first my partner suggested it was homemade because of its consistency. If this is homemade ranch, please switch to a commercial alternative. The soups that came with the meals were good. Canned, for sure, but from quality cans which I can appreciate for what they are. The real problem was the Philly wrap. I should have taken more photos to display the sheer scale of the portion, I could cover the whole wrap with my hand. It was $10.75 for a wrap the size of a McDonald's breakfast wrap. You know, the ones available for purchase TWO AT A TIME because of their small size. My Fish and Shrimp dinner was subpar, but nothing horrible. The fish is advertised as "freshly breaded", quotations included. The quotations do a lot of heavy lifting in this claim as the breading was soggy by the time it arrived at the table. I still tipped 18% because I'm not a monster and this wasn't the waitress' fault. She was very sweet and came around to check on us. Overall: I write this scathing but honest review to ward off future customers. This is assuredly the most unfortunate $50+ dollars I have ever spent.

On May, 17th, 2026 a tornado took the roof off of my 78 year old veteren brother-in-law's Ken's…read morehome in the Pierson, Iowa area. Then it rained for 12 hours, resulting in extensive water damage and eventually mold set in due to the extreme heat. Ken has also been fighting cancer for 14 years, and he's been displaced ever since his home was damaged. To make a long story short, while looking for a good restaurant to eat at, we stumbled upon Harvey's on Military road in Sioux City, and I'm glad that we did! The place was super clean, they give you HUGE portions, and talk about fast and friendly service! Not only was our waitress Cayla super nice, so was the cook, Cody. And come to find out, they're twins! I have twins in my family, and when Cayla had a few minutes to spare, she approached our table, and we chatted briefly about multiples, as well as what brought us to Harvey's that particular day. So, as far as Ken and I are concerned, Harvey's is at the top of our list! Their food is delicious, and the staff is super friendly! So for those of you reading this review, whenever you're in the Military Road area in Sioux City, and you're hungry, stop at Harvey's restaurant, and you won't be dissapointed! Thank you Harvey's, especially Cayla and Cody! PS- make sure to come with an empty stomach and a hearty appetite! Diana and Ken

The restaurant is decorated well and the ambiance is chic without being snooty. Our waitress, Katie, was attentive, friendly, and professional. The food, you ask? Well, my husband had the dinner special - chimichurri surf and turf. The steak was cooked perfectly (medium rare) and the shrimp was succulent. The asparagus was cooked just as he loves - tender-crisp. I had the "clobster" with homemade chips. Now for those of you who are like me and have eaten lobster rolls in the New England area, Pacific Nortwest, and worldwide coastal areas, this is NOT served cold! I was extremely surprised when I bit in and warmth permeated my mouth! It was delicious but as happens with warm juices, the toasted bun, alas, turned soggy. And a few chips were underdone...the ones cooked well were tasty and crisp. We both shared the chocolate pie and it was rich and satisfying. So, if you find yourself on the Historic 4th, go ahead and take that chance and sup there...you won't regret it!

I would go back for the Korean BBQ steak, the flavor was sooo good. My side of mashed sweet potatoes was reminiscent of a sweet potato soufflé, which I love. The pad Thai was very tasty but different flavor from pad Thai I've had at Thai restaurants. We were very happy with our meal, 4 stars because the pad Thai was a 3/5 to me.
