They close at 9 not 930. But otherwise great food. Baseball gets out at 9 for EPJ they are missing out on money in my opinion.

Good selection of potatoes: mushed, tater-tots, french fries, curly fries, ...well, see the photos…read moreof menu. We tried the curly fries and the tators and both were quite yummy. The cheese burger was good, too bad they only had American cheese. The perch was not great, maybe it was supposed to taste, well, muddy, its is after all a lake fish. The spicy chicken sandwich was good, not memorable, and I can't remember tasting much spiciness but it was a good piece of chicken. The cole slaw was a bit too mayonnaise-y for my taste but folk were ordering it up. Don't let your big city expectations of "if the wait person is not at my table when I snap my fingers I'm leaving" get in the way of you experiencing this small town local favorite. If you happen to enter the dining room through the bar and see the locals at the watering hole part of the restaurant then consider that the waitress might not have seen you. Nothing wrong with going up to her to let her know that your party is ready to order. This is a very small town, the folks are nice, they smile at you even when they don't know you and at Whimp's Place they could be a crappy restaurant since they are the only ones in Burbank but instead they do a nice job. There are two high chairs, about 4 booster chairs, and a few kino/other stuff machines in the bar section. Located across the street from the tall, shiny, silver storage silos. Slow down or you will miss it. Parking in back.

The decor and vibe of the restaurant was well done. Updated and well decorated. The waitress seemed put out we were there, unfortunately she was training another waitress, continuing to train the same bad habits. We had to wait about 10 minutes between each visit she paid to our table. There were a few times I had to get her attention or find her because she kept walking by our table without stopping or acknowledging us. The food looked good and tasted...okay. My wife got pulled pork which was not fresh. It was obviously re-heated from a prior day. Had a weird aftertaste. The best things were the buffalo spring roll appetizer and the milkshakes. The waitress did discount our order due to our dissatisfaction with the food. This was good customer service. The dirty trays were never removed from our table. The trainee could've easily done this since she was hanging out at the bar talking for most of the time. This isn't necessarily her fault. This is a training and management issue. This place should be packed every day it's open. It was less than half full when we were there for dinner. This is probably due to the bad things we experienced. Management needs to step up. You're robbing yourselves, your employees, your owner and your community of something good.

**UPDATE: This review was posted for the Roadhouse located in Orange City, IA and NOT for this…read moreparticular restaurant located in Vermilion, SD and which I have NOT yet been to. ** Not much for dining options in Orange City, IA these days. The two terrific places I'd normally recommend are both gone. Think of the Roadhouse as the new man standing and standing only because there isn't much else standing around it! Food is average to above average. Average selection of beer and wine. The service and staff are the weak links in the chain, and, ultimately, why I couldn't give this place a more than 'average' review. The 'bartenders' are anything but. I was a bartender and server for years. The female staff of this place are lazy and more interested in gossip than in their customers. The male members of the staff were busy throughout and seemed much more attentive to their job than worried about anything not related to it. Good for them! I wish one of the men here would have been my bartender rather than the two women who didn't know what Tabasco sauce is or the one who told me that they "just don't have a need to have it!" You're a bar/restaurant and you don't have a need for Tabasco sauce!? If it weren't so sad and true this would be comedic! Bottom line: I'd not go out of my way to come here again. I could recommend many other places to go to in or near this neck of the woods. The Roadhouse is doomed for failure on its current course of mediocrity in both food and service. It thrives now because there is not much else for competition. Once a new player arrives that offers excellent food, outstanding service and a truly welcoming atmosphere the Roadhouse is sure to find itself as a relic left in the dust rather than a prosperous and sought after place to satisfy even the most modest foodie. If I were the Roadhouse owner I'd heed warning and get first your staff under control and go from there. If not, they will surely be the iceberg to your Titanic.
