The waitress was nice, and kept our coffees full. The food was delicious and portions were big and the bathrooms were clean!

The best food around! Hands down!! It's a treat for you!! Great people and the best service

I've been stopping here since 1997 when I started hauling meat out of IBP/TYSON just down the street. The staff has always been friendly and efficient, and the restaurant is always clean. Crystal Cafe has a pretty standard menu and a daily special. I always look forward to stopping for some good home cooking when I'm in the area. read more

Crystal Cafe - 10oz bacon cheeseburger and fries - Cafes Near Me - Sount Sioux City, Nebraska

Sunday brunch with family. Line to get in. Friendly wait staff. We had pancakes and bacon, grilled chicken sandwich with onion rings. All were really good. Would definitely stop again when driving through! read more

Convenient small cafe attached to a truck stop. I had bacon and eggs, which were fine. The place was packed with a line, and the servers were doing their best. It's an older building but seemed tidy and clean. I suggest avoiding the first booth in front of the door. Taller people waiting at the door kept sitting on it, putting their butts in my face. And shorter people leaned against it, and I got elbows in my neck and head. It's place to go for a quick meal. read more

Stopped here at the truck stop and decided to have dinner here. Great place with really good food and friendly service read more

The service here was impeccable! Our waitress couldn't have been sweeter and more kind. The food was great! Definitely the kind that will stick to your ribs! I had the smothered country fried steak with 2 over-easy eggs and all the fixins. My husband had the Denver omelet and a bowl of chili and it was huge!!! If we are ever this way again we will def stop by! read more

They are not open 24/7 as the listing says. I arrived at 9:44 and found they close at 9:30 PM. Hours are 6 AM to 9:30 PM

Awesome little breakfast truck stop. The service was great and the food was very good. It gets packed at peak times but it's worth the wait. read more

I live really close to this place, but rarely go...and I'm not sure why! They have great food and the price is great. Sometimes I get a crabby waitress, but you get that everywhere. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because their breakfast is OK. I can make most of their breakfast menu myself at home. Except their gravy. Their gravy is worth a trip alone. read more

Excellent breakfast! So good we came back a second day while visiting the area. The staff was very friendly and truely want you to enjoy your meal. The owner even gave us a slice of one of their homemade cream pies which was amazingly good! Really the only issue was the sausage gravy. It's one you will either really like or really not like. So ask to have a sample taste before you commit to it. Atmosphere was muted diner like. With a small gift shop attached. Comfortable chairs and booths. A great place for breakfast or coffee and pie. Good to meet someone to talk about stuff. read more

Fantastic breakfast. I had the chicken fried steak with eggs and hash browns. My wife had the biscuits and gravy. Hands down one of the best we have had. Chicken fried steak was spot on, very flavorful and tender. Eggs cooked perfectly and the hash browns......crispy exterior and creamy interior. So much food we brought home our leftovers. enough for breakfast tomorrow. Nothing fancy , lots of locals and a real hit with truckers as the lot was full. Check out the pies. Homemade and stacked a mile high. Excellent place to get a meal if you are in the area. read more

This little hole in the wall is quite unique. We drove into South Sioux City NE just to eat at this restaurant because of the reviews. We had the biscuits and homemade sausage gravy and it was very good and very filling. I had hot tea and my mother had coffee and both were very good and warming during the very cold weather. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. If I'm ever back in Sioux City I will definitely be back! read more

Legendary bacon! What more can be said. Oh homemade food and super friendly service. They don't have places like this anymore. So sad. Did I mention BACON. REAL BACON. Not that thin sliced crap from Dennys and the like. A genuine truckstop cafe . Try it you'll like it and won't be disappointed . 4 stars because of the dirt parking lot read more

A little greasy spoon/truck stop kind of place. The kind of place that retirees will gather in, and the kind of place that serves the Corned Beef hash out of a can. The omelet that I had was a decent size, flattop type of omelet Is it a place that should be featured on TV, No. Is it a decent little small town kind of place, yes read more

This place used to be an institution. Old trucker haven. But the food came out cold, they only use margarine, coffee is watery, everything about the place in general says gone downhill which is sad because I have great childhood memories of this place. :( read more

Crystal Cafe - Came here for breakfast. They only use margarine here. Coffee is watery and tasteless. Food came out cold. Overall just disappointing. - Cafes Near Me - Sount Sioux City, Nebraska

Wonderful and filling food. Great wait staff. Never leave hungry. Every time we've gone the food has been great. Always reminds me of a home cooked meal. Their biscuits and gravy are the closest I've found to my grandmother and great grandmother's. Pancakes are super fluffy, delicious and huge. Eggs and bacon are both down right scrumptious. read more

Great local Cafe. Locals all come here. Home cooked food and plenty of it. Staff friendly and very attentive.

Food was good , prices are a little crazy, 5.50 just for a pancake, and like 15.00 for an all meat omelette, waitress was not that good either had to keep asking for things read more

Being from Boston, where smoking in eating establishments has been banned for over 10 years, I was stunned by the wall of smoke that hit me when I entered Crystal Cafe. That being said, it added to the atmosphere and authenticity. I had to try the "Chicken Fried Steak which came with breakfast potatoes, eggs and toast. I was full by the third bite but it was so delicious I licked the plate. I don't remember what my partner got, but I remember we ate it all. We also got a "Sticky Bun" to go....proabably the best sticky bun I will ever have in my life. I would go at least 400 miles out of my way to try this place. It is classic Americana dining! read more

I didn't get a chance to eat here...why? Well our group sat down and all of the chairs were covered in syrup. I know...it's funny now, but trust me it wasn't when it happened. Couldn't even sit in car....brutal. read more

Country fried steak was way over cooked! It was honestly hard to chew. Service was very nice though, if you go just try something else!

Food wasn't very good and they don't pay their employees so how can a business not pay their Works no matter what the situation on the day given by the management end of story read more

Clean and cozy place to eat! Breakfast food was good and not too greasy. Haven't had any lunch or dinner options on the menu.

Excellent little diner. We stopped after a night at the casino in Sioux City. Friendly service, bottomless coffee and generous servings of food for great prices. We didn't have pie but it looked amazing. The merengue on the cream pies looked like the size of half a basketball !!! Totally quaint and charming. Definitely worth stopping here !! read more

My favorite place to get breakfast! Their American fries are crispy without being burned. They are a classic for the area. Service is great and the food is made to order and delicious. Everything I have ordered here tasted great! read more

Don't let the unassuming outside look deceive you. Went there on a down time service was great - waitress was friendly and helpful/ food was great especially the sausage patty and links - reminded my fiancé of when his grandmother would make the patties herself! Working on the area so I stopped in and tried their breakfast. It took a few minutes for the waitress to take my order. The biscuits and gravy was decent and the omelet was awesome. Friendly staff and good prices. Would like to go back and try having dinner there. Downside of course is they don't except Amex. read more

I've been to the place a few times. the truckers running through it are fun to listen to and jab at. I've honestly had fun at this sit down restaurant just interacting with people that I've never met, and this is the only place outside of a bar or club that I've had that experience. we need more places like this in America. the food here is good (I've only had the breakfast), but really if I got A. the people around me that I had the last few times, again people I'd never met. or B. the service that I had, yeah I agree with the other Google guy, I'd really travel a ways to eat here. I'd go on but I'm lazy. all I'm saying is try the place, it's good food, and from my experience it's awesome to interactive random people. read more

This place is a no bullsh*t kind of establishment. If you want to eat right, then go there. I am a big midwestern guy and the portions are the proper size. Delicious. read more

The food at the Crystal Cafe is homemade and served hot so one might assume it is a good place to eat. I have been there three times in the last month and served by three different waitresses. Each time I ordered the special only to be told they were out. Again nothing out of the ordinary until I hear other patrons being offered and served the special they just told me they were out of! The verbiage that was used "oh I'm sorry we ran out of ... and ... I don't know why they didn't take it out of there. I guess I need to do that." They same wording by all three waitresses and all three times other patrons were offered and served the special. I would hate to think this is a racist situation but if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck it is usually a DUCK. read more
