Pretty much the definition of average. I have tried both a sandwich and a breakfast sandwich. Both…read morewere fine; not much above the quality of a good gas station sandwich, but higher price. (The bagel was just a store bought bagel, with a slice of velveta and an egg and three pieces of bacon you could easily make at home.) Its a nice place, and it seems like a good hang out spot for retired folks to drink coffee. But I am not exactly sure why it is expanding so quickly as a chain. The breakfast burrito certainly cannot compare to all the local mexican restaurant breakfast burritos. Pierce Street is much better sandwich and coffee place. Panera Bread is at the same price point and is better with more variety. I have not tried the pizza, though, nor their night time prime rib. But both of those items see a little out of step with their coffee shop vibe. (Can't say I have ever ordered prime rib from a coffee counter before.)

Look at the layers of flavor on this Manhattan sandwich (I added sprouts). However, if cold sandwiches aren't your thing, they have amazing salads, soups, and everyone tells me about their fabulous cakes. Specifically people rave about the Italian wedding cake. They have great coffee drinks, a stellar atmosphere, and the owner Ron has adorned the walls with his wonderful photography. This is definitely a local's favorite, but if you're visiting, you need to stop by and see why. Also, I LOVE the shops on either side of this coffee shop as well. Sioux City Gifts has obviously fabulous gifts and Sioux City specific items, but on the other side is the most adorable flower/plant shop you will find.

It's a beautiful and large coffee shop as they do their own roasting there. It smells wonderful the moment you walk in the door. The people are very friendly and helped us in picking out a roast for the Pour Over for my husband. I got a breve, which was absolutely delicious! The blueberry muffin was nice and moist. My husband enjoyed a nice conversation about buying and roasting beans with John and Nick. Some coffee roasters can be a little snobby but not here. Everyone was very friendly and loved sharing the knowledge they had about coffee. If we come back to this town, this will definitely be our first stop. It's clear they put a lot of knowledge and skillful execution into each cup of coffee.

Food is good! As I type this I'm eating the chicken noodle soup, which is fine. It needs salt. I've had other meals here before and they're always tasty. Sometimes the portions are a little small for the price. If you get a full meal and a drink it'll be close to $20. My bowl of to-go soup was $9.20. The guy working offered me a dinner roll to go with it, but I didn't receive it. Not sure if he charged me for it or not. This place sells alcohol as well as coffee and smoothies. I believe they're open until 4pm. It's located on the bottom floor of an apartment building. If I lived in those apartments I'm sure I'd be down in this restaurant all the time. Haha Fantastic desserts and pastries. There is a drive-thru. I've never used it, I always go inside.
