We are on the Mexican food challenge and we've been eating at every Mexican restaurant in Sioux City in South Sioux weekly. We're about 10 to 15 deep and plenty to go but so far this is the best. I was in the area for military stuff and this place was just down the road from the base. It was a Sunday around noon but not overly busy. We had a party of 5. 2 of us ordered the same thing. 2 of the 5 meals came out wrong. The chips and salsa were good. The service was okay. My food was good but nothing special. read more

The salsa was amazing. The chilli Colorado and the chili verdi were each superb, and we had leftovers. It did not seem like they were that busy, but a party was just ending as we arrived...we spent a lot of time waiting...for more water that never came, and no one asked if we wanted more water, for the bill so we could know how much cash to have ready for the register an what to tip, for leftover containers. The end of the meal was paced slowly probably because they were more interested in cleaning everything than than taking care of us and moving us on, so they could clean our booth too.... My wife and I have dined at some of the finest Mexican restaurants around the country. The ambiance of this restaurant is first rate. Just the furniture will keep you occupied. However the service is fast and constant. We were asked about our food at least 3 times by management on down. We had fajitas for two and we were hungry. There was enough for 4 people and we had to take a bunch home. The fajitas could have had a better marinade and a little more time on the grill, but served with grilled onions, tomato's, and bell peppers, they were good. Margaritas were perfect, not too sweet and not too acidic as we hate that. They were perfectly balanced. Chips and salsa provided. My advice to the management would be to make a chunky guacamole instead of the creamy one they use now. Also, the pico de gallo was very bland. Make a better pico with citrus juices and salt that brings the flavor out in the cilantro. The price was affordable if you don't go crazy like we do. But even with extras we ordered like guacamole, pico, extra tortillas(we didn't need), and grande margaritas, the meal was around $30 per person. We will be back for sure. read more

Consistently great food, service and drinks! We've been here many times for a simple meal all the way to large group celebrations and they always provide excellent service, food is top notch, drinks are fun, the staff make everyone feel welcome and appear to really enjoy participating in celebrations such as birthdays. I'm from Texas and know my Mexican food!This was the weirdest Chile Relleno, I've never had anything like it. It was a very hard type of bread or something. Enchilada was just some plain hamburger meat rolled in a corn tortilla. Burrito was just plain hamburger meat rolled up in a flour tortilla. Taco, same ol plain hamburger meat. The salsa was pretty awesome, we took home extra of that. Atmosphere was really cool but the place had an overwhelming smell of some type of cleaner. It was so damn strong I couldn't even smell food. My husband had pork carnitas and it was excellent. If it wasn't for the strong cleaning odor I'd of gone back and tried something else. read more

This was a really great find on our drive through Iowa. Staff was super friendly, and though they were pretty busy we were seated immediately. Colorful interior, decent sized outdoor patio. Salsa I had the enchilada mole poblano. This is legit. Mild on the spicy scale but very flavorful. Wife got the chicken quesadilla with cheese sauce, which was very good. All of the food was very fresh and authentic. Would definitely come here again. read more
