A small cup of salad came with the dish but once I looked at it the vegetables were brown! My dad got himself some seafood plate, and keep in mind my dad loves seafood but once he ate is meal he said he really didn't like it. My sister's plate was some spicy shrimp that turned out to be sweet instead of spicy.

A bunch of TVs, and I think I even saw signage for live music on Fridays? But it's a pretty big venue, and they even have their own private dining room for private parties, at least I'm guessing. My bartender, was a spitting image of a woman I know in the town where I live, in the Eastern Sierra mountains. I literally had to double take and triple take to make sure it wasn't her. But unlike the lady I know, this bartender was nothing short of excellent! One star goes for the knowledgeable bartender, and the successful owner knowing that 'extra lime' means WEDGES, not WHEELS. It wasn't too busy in there, but she was really attentive to the bar patrons, and was on top of her game. Everybody sitting at the bar area, were so nice to one another, we were all talking and I ended up meeting this really nice, older gentleman that I chit-chatted with up until he left. I love the fact that the people here are so open and comfortable with one another and can engage in friendly banter. So that being said, my bartender constantly kept an eye on me and never interrupted my conversations when she wanted to offer me another drink or to order supper. She always timed it perfectly right! I'm on a no carb kick, so I ordered the smothered pork chops, with steamed broccoli and asparagus. Man, was it good. Those asparagus were popped down over an open flame and roasted, and even though very simple and basic, some of the best asparagus I've had at a restaurant ever. My whole trip was very enjoyable, and it looks like I'll be here in Sioux City for a few more days at least, so I will probably poke my head in there, this weekend! The service is another sour note: we had to flag her down throughout the visit. One time she was unavailable and someone unkempt and lackadaisical visited our table in her stead. One of us got the Cuban and he said it was good. He is used to having legit Cuban sandwiches, so he probably is on to something there. Unfortunately, the rest of us ordered based on a photo advertisement of theirs they have posted up inside the restaurant. That was false advertising if I've ever seen it. The menu consists of many dishes which I typically order, just not sure I would order them in Iowa, that's the only thing. We were sat right away, but when we were led closer to our booth, the hostess held us up while she checked on a nearby computer to make sure the table was in the right area I'm guessing. It was and she motioned us to go toward the one open booth in the center of the restaurant in an area behind the chilled wine cabinets. The interior seems to be a combination of mcm and modern, but I liked it. I ended up choosing the duck breast dish and a cup of lobster bisque. Lobster bisque - small and I didn't see or taste any actual lobster. There were plenty of diced tomatoes and a sliver of green onion in this. The taste was ok though. Duck breast - this was an okay dish. My avid hunting colleague asked me what type duck is it, so I had to look up what type ducks Maple Leaf Farms typically utilizes. Turns out it's the White Pekin ducks, due to their mild un-gamey flavor. They are supposed to be tender but a few if my slices were a bit chewy. Either way, it was a decent dish, but Im not a huge fan of risotto and would probably order something different next time. I was also tempted to order a dessert, because I was in the mood and was curious what a cashew cobbler was. It turns out that it's a lot of ice cream and just a bit of mashed up nuts. It was interesting to say the least. My colleague said his meal was ok, but he was having stomach issues after the first bite, due to something he ate earlier in the day so he ended up not eating another bite and had to throw the rest away, unfortunately. He did say the pork chop was a bit dry anyway.
