This quaint hometown cafe has great food. It is a quiet, relaxed place to eat and the employees are very accommodating.

Table 32 - Sesame Chicken Pad Thai

March 2027 Sioux City, Iowa…read more Very nice interior. Large bar in the front center that seemed to be popular with guests. A few tables wrapped around the bar. We took a table in the back of the restaurant. Simple table with black cloth napkins. No candle , no flower, just a small salt and pepper set with a few menus. The menu offers a variety from expensive seafood and steaks to sandwiches. I chose the seafood Mac and cheese. My husband had the pork chop with sweet potatoes and a side of grilled cauliflower. The other couple ordered Mediterranean pasta with shrimp instead of chicken which came with a slice of focaccia bread. His wife had the chicken margherita sandwich which came with sweet potato waffle fries. My husband said the pork chop was dry and overcooked. My seafood pasta was served warm. It looked like it sat under the heat lamp while other food was prepared. Oddly enough, my meal did not come with any bread. But the other pasta dish had focaccia bread and even the kids meal that had mac & cheese had a big chunk of bread as well. Was it an oversight? Also missing from my dish was the Panko crumbs that were to top the dish. None to be found! My pasta had really great flavor. A complaint is that every third bite I was pulling a shell out of my mouth. It's good to know that the seafood is fresh, but I should not have to bite around the shell of the seafood. Also, because it was served warm, it made it less than enjoyable. The Mediterranean pasta I was told was delicious and it looked so. A lot of sauce as well. The chicken sandwich was quite large. Although it was tough and not tasty. It came with a side of sweet potato fries, which came out after we started our meal. It was forgotten the first time around. Overall, I would give the ambience an eight. Service was good and it deserves a seven. The food however, which I think is very important when you go to dinner, would get a solid five. I think the flavor was good, but again, because the food was served cold, and the pork chop was overcooked. I would most definitely take points off.

Very cool place we discovered close to our hotel…read more The winner of the night was the pasta with chicken, mushrooms, and balsamic cream sauce. The Korean BBQ steak had a terrific flavor but was quite gristly. We sat at the bar and received except service. The bartender was attentive but also sensitive when we were in deep conversation. She did not needlessly interrupt.

I will start with the one positive - the interior is quite nice. I was pleasantly surprised. But…read morethat is the one and only positive about this place. The food and service were amongst some of the worst I have ever had. After greeting me at the hostess stand, the hostess took me to my table, threw down the menus and walked away without saying a word to me, or even looking at me. She did it so aggressively, I wondered if I had said something wrong. I then watched her do the same thing to every other diner she sat. The server had no knowledge of the menu, nor could she make any recommendations. She got visibly frustrated when I asked the details of a few items. She had zero interest in me, or representing the restaurant in a professional manner. I ordered the 4 Brothers Burger, thinking that it must be good if it was named after the restaurant itself. What arrived was something akin to a Bubba burger. It was not even remotely fresh. It was horribly dry, rubbery and had zero flavor. It had a piece of cheese on it that served no purpose other than to act like a rubber cement ensuring the burger stayed firmly attached to the bun. I was shocked that an item this bland, and frankly cheap, would be sent out to customers. I would sincerely recommend some extra training to some of your staff. I felt that they had zero interest in my experience, nor did they try to represent you in a professional manner.

I was there about 5 years ago when in Sioux City. Decided to return for a dinner because.....WELL…read moreit was getting late, I was hungry and was in Sergent Bluff already. Plus I knew where it was. I was by myself, tried and hungry. Walking in was a welcome site for me it was open, and while there were people in the place I didn't have to wait! I really like the ambiance! Comfortable chairs and booths, there are high-top chairs at the bar, but 'regular chairs and tables in the majority if not all the seating area. Why, I do I notice this? As we have both gotten older and joints aren't as smooth any longer just getting onto a HIGH chair is difficult. The lighting is not dark but low and has a personal feel. There are tables for larger groups, but for me and both if us when dining out we want to be able to talk and not have to yell. I was by myself, but needed a quiet, low-key place to eat before heading home. I ordered a burger, again a place and food to put the day to rest and be able to make the 2 hour drive home. I liked the food, it was an above average burger. The fries are not really special but better than the majority of places, but they were still the generic frozen ones, just prepared better with seasoning. The beer was cold and on tap, not a huge variety but enough that it had 2 of my favorites. I would definitely recommend a place to stop. Am sure locals know this as when searching this site for options they were few without going into Sioux City. But!, For travelers, it is only about 5 blocks east of the exit and easy to find. Stop and rest..Enjoy the food.
